Carrigaline have brought last season's 1st division side manager in to take over the Premier division side to bring through some of the younger players. He's a straight up guy so doubt he'll tolerate any of last season's messing.
so first shock in the junior division with corinthians hammering douglas
anybody see the match??did it reflect the score?
ringmahon have got off to a flyer but very early days yet
i read on another forum that some of there aul team came up so if anything they gained i would imagine
well done to corinthians though, results so far suggest it could be an interesting season at the top of the league for a change
any news on the ot team?? surely they must be picking a team soon??
the hall have lost half of last years team mostly to the seniors. i saw the corinthians game and the scoreline was fairly accurate - cors by far the hungrier team

Douglas beat us two one. Game of two half's really. Douglas first half us second half. We went one up against run of play but douglas got one back just before half time. We bombarded there goal in second half but just didnt have the luck to get equaliser.
I went out to UCC v Blarney yesterday
Blarney looked good, lots of new faces, they won 2-0 and missed a good few chances near the end too when UCC were pushing on.
UCC first game of the season i'd say, looked like they had a few handy ball players but were a bit all over the place.
OT Manager there
Can anyone tell me what the position is with CIT playing their senior players in their junior eam for the first few games of the season?
I know they don't play in the Keane Cup and used the first few juniors games last years as a kinda pre-season for the senior team. Not sure if they're doing it this year but am curious as to whether they are allowed do this by the league or is it just something they chance their arm at and try get away with??
they probably are playin a few of their senior team, they normally start later than everyone else, dont know what the position is with that and the msl, if they are chancing their arm then not many other clubs can complain, most clubs play senior players at junior level, happens every week, i dont know what the rule is on how many senior players can play and so on, can anyone clear it up?
Not trying to catch them out, was just curious as to whether they get leeway to do it.
We're playing them Friday night so will prob be facing most of their senior side. Never like playing them early in the season.
I'd imagine Avondale juniors will be sprinkled with 1 or 2 senior players weekly for the season.cotter won't want his squad players not getting any sort of a game.
Dont most clubs do it if they have players that need game time, or even if their senior team aren't playin? they send a few of them down with the junior team, help them get a few points like!!
looking through the squad for oscar traynor, lot of new names on it! in fairness to the new management unlike previous years they have actually been seen at games checking players out, time will tell i suppose
Where did you see this list villaman10
anyone able to write it out?
didnt get a chance to pick it up yday
douglas hall; gavin hinchy, cillian murphy, james McCarthy,
ringmahon; alan long, pa o'brein, willie aherne,
glasheen; colin harte,
coll cors; philip brady,
rockmount; jason McGrath, noel dorney,
blarney; sean taggert,
everton utd; trevor dunlea, aidan murray dave o'keefe, ( first division)
mayfied; dean winters, kriastian dennehy, alan monaher
strange that 3 players from everton 2nd junior team on the list, and none from there team in the premier
We played both Everton sides in the past few weeks and very surprised some of their 1st Division players got the call ahead of their Premier players!
some of everton b team would have been ex casement senior and prob joined them as jnr prem team had already panel sorted maybe? ken o regan from ringmahon also added
Their junior side definitely had a few lads that could play ball so were probably ex senior players alright.
We've an ex senior player too that scored 4 goals against them over 2 games and got no call up!!! City bias?? ha
i'd guess atfermoy eric? a good honest club
Yeah Fermoy. We played their Prem side in the League Cup and I thought they'd some lovely ball players, esp a young lad they had playing on the wing. He tore us apart. Played their 1st Division side in the league then.
Ah I was only messing with the comment about our lad not getting a call up. Don't think any Fermoy player has got a call up for as long as I remember anyway.
Don't think CIT had many, if any, seniors playing last night against us. They still gave us a decent game though but thankfully they missed some good chances in te first half and we managed to come home with a 2-0 win.
midleton 3 cobh wanderers 0, very bad referee to say the least, 1st goal was from a free kick, which was a worse decision than jack rodwell's red card, second goal he was about 10 yards offside, no complaints with 3rd goal, midleton deserved the win but ref didn't help, some very strange decisions by him on both sides but a bit biased to the home side!!
yea they play ball, they like 2 play it along the back a lot, handy side, think that they will comfortably win the league, unless something strange happens!
They should get promoted handy enough alright but to win the league they'll have to beat the winners of the other section in what effectively would be a cup final. Anything could happen in a one of game at the end of the season.
have midleton added any new players??
last year they were'nt up to much so to be cleaning up in the first division must say a lot about the quality difference between the leagues
