So... This guy has released my album of 2015 which just so happens to have the best song I've heard in an age on it (This is gonna be in the all-time top 10 I would say). The lyrics are astounding.
"Only ever be the girl who just almost died in my house
Half naked, looking through your telephone
Run you a bath and try hard not to freak out...
...Don't be my, don't be my, don't be my last strange encounter
The moment you came to, I swore I would change
Though neither one of us would leave unscathed
At least we'll both go on living"

Playing Whelans this Saturday.
EPIC BANGER!
New Grimes track. Not gonna be on the new album but hopefully it will be a pointer to what to expect.

Stuck in my head all morning.
So here ye go. It's top notch in fairness to Miss Swift.

What? It's class. Irritatingly so. And it's now stuck in my head again.
In fairness, her album is a slice of pop gold.
On another note I can't get Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros out of my head. Came up on my playlist this morning on the way to work and after not hearing it for a while the amazingly beautiful music arrangement has been playing in my head all day. A good earworm.
Helium Heart by Oliver Cole (can't find on Youtube but it's on Spotify).
Cracking tune and his Turn catalogue shows he knows how to write a good song.
Seeing these boyz tomorrow, shud be fun

For the day that's in it. RIP Lemmy.

My God this is amazing. How has this slipped my mind since August. WOW!

Seeing as Lemmy was one of my all time heroes, I decided to write a tribute song for him. Without simply sounding like Motorhead, or Hawkwind, I decided to take influence from both bands and see if I could merge a sound together. This is what I came up with.

Soooooooooooooooo...
In my mind it's been a pretty darn daycent year for tunage. But Christ, I think we have Song of the Year here for me. Stunning stuff. That the video was also filmed in Dublin helps its caused. I've practically done nothig but listen to this all day:

Playing July 8th, Workmans.
Shades of Little Dragon about that one Bonnie. Not bad at all, it's got a groove to it. I struggle with most electronica based music, but finding myself with one of those "I like it but I'm not sure why" feelings.
I know exactly what you're saying. As soon as I heard the opening note of the synth yesterday my brain went "WANT"! As I have gotten older, my taste have certainly faded towards electronica, pop and house... it's bizarre.
In fact I'm going to listen to it again John Peel style.
I was wracking my brain for an example of a song that affected me like this has; the way it has arrested me in its tracks and pretty much overtaken me with its existence and it's probably "Peach, Plum, Pear" by Joanna Newsom:

Saw her a few months ago in Sydney; I think she's just brilliant. Look out Sapokanikan, Time, as Symptom of Love, Have One on Me, and Waltz of the 101st Lightborne. She's a genius!
anyone willing to volunteer to commit these to a Spotify playlist?
So that's done. I'll fill; it up as I go with everything I can from the thread over the years.
Also, so this isn't missed out on... CRACKER!!! Friday in a song:

What a coincidence Nigel, before I went to bed last night I listened to E6 album Fire, one of my all time fav albums, hadn't listened to it fully in about 4 years :) God i love that band, seen them live in London, but i was kicked out early for over exuberant moshing early on so....i.e was phished on jagerbombs

Synthesiser is the anthem of anthems among a fang of us. Well played sir.
Miike Snow - have been a big fan since their 2009 album. If you are new to them, Animal is another great track to check out.

Today, I'm releasing my own debut single from an EP I've coming up in a few weeks time.
All proceeds from the EP and a planned launch night are to go to the formation of a Pieta House service in Donegal which is badly lacking currently.
All music, instruments and voice done by myself and video and editing by myself.
