The picture quality isn't brilliant but I've uploaded the McCarthy Park documentary in three parts on youtube.

Thanks for that! Have been wanting to see it for awhile now
Another new addition - the Brian Kerr's World Cup documentary from 2006.
Due to copyright restrictions I had to remove the McCarthy and Kerr videos from youtube. Hope some of you got to watch them during the week while they were there. Sorry lads
Got a chance to watch both. Cheers for sticking them up, albeit for a shorter time than intended.
Oh dear. Make your minds up lads, what is worse?:
The ref adding on more injury time
Nobody on the posts for the corner
What happened as a result
Or the commentary. It's in English alright, but not quite as we know it.

Not strictly Ireland but thought Id stick this up anyhow. For all the times I've seen Jimmy Quinns goal followed by Alan Mc's, I never saw anything from the other game on that infamous night.
A tale of two keepers it would seem with Schmiechel and Canivarez both playing their part for Ireland.........

Good to know pointless melodrama isn't limited to us anyways.
Anyways -
Some extended Mexican television footage I came across of our game with Mexico at the 1994 World Cup:

After the mess the band had made of the anthem against Italy, you'd have thought they'd have got it right this time, but, sure enough, they had to go puzzle everyone by playing an elongated rendition with instrumental intro.
Did a bit of editing with the footage from Ireland's penalty shoot-out against Romania in 1990 and came up with this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOfpr44ECTM
Footage of Ireland's historic penalty shoot-out versus Romania at World Cup Italia '90 featuring commentary from RTÉ's George Hamilton against a backdrop of Mogwai's 'My Father, My King'.
'My Father, My King' just seemed to fit perfectly with the crescendos in tension as events unfolded.
The Worm will love this one (I know he has been looking for this game for a while). It's only 2 of the goals from Ireland-Liechtenstein in 1997 but one of them is from David Connolly
Super. Was it that game or the other home game against them (under Charlton) that wasn't live on telly? Remember listening on the radio; Packie Bonner was getting dazed under the new-fangled floodlights (must have been 1994 then actually)
It was 94. Some issue at the time meant that RTE could only show 1 of Ireland's 5 home group games, so they decided to ignore Liechtenstein, as indeed did Charlton himself, who went off to watch another group game that night. The issue was sorted out before the next home game, and Ireland's remaining home games were all shown live.
One more from the VHS archive: Ireland 5 Turkey 0 in Lansdowne Road in October 1990. Featuring David O'Leary's only goal for Ireland (excluding penalty shoot-outs).
This was already on PineappleStu's list of links but this one is the RTE commentary instead of ITV.
I found these two on YouTube - superb stuff from 1983. The Malta game is the last home qualifier I wasn't at...
I was in Dalymount for the Holland match. Some unknowns called VanBasten and Gullit scored for them that night.
Holland 2 Ireland 2, September 1981
I'm sure this has been posted but I watched the whole lot the other night. It's a cracker of a game.

It's a brilliant game and having Jimmy's commentary makes it extra special. Serious quality in that team and the Russians too. I couldn't get over the pace of the game because although I've been watching soccer since about 87 I've heard so many people say the backpass rule made the games slower back then but I don't think that was actually true in the majority of games. The reason I searched for it was after reading the bit in a Jonathan Wilson book about Lobonovsky, the famous USSR/Kiev manager.
Anyway,
Just seen that sp1873 (I don't know who he is but he's easily one of my most favourite people in the world) posted this yesterday:
