and before that 110 capped kilbane.
a lad I used to go to all the matches with used to give out yards about o'shea and then blamed us not hanging on in Paris 09 on o'shea going off injured!!
I think there will be 2 changes. Walters & Wilson for Murphy & Ward. I'd be happy enough with that too. Don't think Long & O'Shea will be fit enough to start.
It's really difficult to pick the starting line up tonight. Does Walters go up top or on the right?
Will he stick with Hoolahan? (Hope so).
Who does he put at LB? Not a big fan of Wilson at LB but Ward did struggle big time on Friday.
What time will be hear the team? 7pm'ish?
Really hope we get a goal early on to settle the nerves.
That's what I'm hoping for too. Walters is nailed on to come in for Murphy. It makes sense to put Wilson at left back and I hope he does.
Would fancy a goal from us with Walters, Brady, Hendrick and Wes in attack.
I think having Walters up front on his own is preferable to how we would line up if we started both Walters and Long. I don't think MON would keep the 4-2-3-1 if he played Walters and Long (could easily have one of them on the right but don't think he would). I think it'd go back to 4-4-2 and Wes or Hendrick would be on the wing with the other dropped.
Brady at LB
Walters and Murphy.
Who plays left wing?!
---------------Randolph----------------
---Coleman--Keogh--Clark--Brady---
----Hendrick--Whelan--McCarthy----
-----Walters--Murphy--Hoolahan-----
I'd say McGeady if we were chasing a goal.
I'd love it if Trap would manage us just for this one match. We'd be guaranteed the 0-0 we need.
Ward simply can't start at LB. He's the new Paul McShane.
What???? No O'Shea or Long?
18:45 So, one change to the Ireland line-up that started in Zenica on Friday, with Stoke City forward Jon Walters returning from suspension. Stephen Ward makes way.
Republic of Ireland XI: Randolph, Coleman, Keogh, Clark, Brady, Whelan, McCarthy, Hendrick, Hoolahan, Walters, Murphy.
There's three changes for Bosnia. Defender Ognjen Vranjes in for the injured Mensur Mujdza. Defender Sead Kolasinac and midfielder Haris Medunjanin also return to the side.
Bosnia-Herzegovina XI: Begovic, Vranjes, Sunjic, Spahic, Zukanovic, Visca, Cocalic, Pjanic, Lulic, Ibisevic, Dzeko.
Can anyone view the game on RTE via a VPN?
I used to be able too but I can no longer watch games, I can watch other stuff though, would probably be able to watch that stuff without a VPN anyway though.
stream with chat here sky sports, it's on stream 2, the other streams don't seem to work very well. Don't think you need to disable adblocker despite what it says.
Bit of a pain removing the ads though.
With his starting teams, it would appear MoN has a pathological dislike of being second guessed. I didn't think Murphy did much of note last time out, albeit in a difficult role.
Do not like the look of this tight/compact/narrow lineup. Looks like it is route 1 football & hardly "going for it" as O'Neill has said. We will be up against it tonight.
Bosnian anthem sounds like a version of Abide With Me
In O Neill we trust.
