well lads. i didnt make it to the nenagh v peake game on sunday but by all accounts it was a good even game. any nenagh report on it?
was at it and to be honest peake dominated the first 20 minutes and practically had the game over as a contest as both goals scored. Peake had numerous chances and could have being more up in that period. after this until half time was pretty even. Second half nenagh had some great chances to get back in the game but either bad control or wrong option taken let them down. Peake seemed happy to sit and take nenagh on the break in second half. As nenagh pushed late in game peake got few chances on the break.Best for nenagh was shane o gorman at centre back and johnny o gorman in midfield. Nenagh badly missed the pace of michael Hogan, Missing for reason unknown. Also believe nenagh didnt perform as well as can be because Peake kept Mikey O Gorman quiet which is no easy task as he would get on any team in Tipp or elsewhere. Was surprised by Tom Brophy as when playing with thurles was poor??Fogarty and Ted O Connor and a centre midefielder i dont know were good for peake. Peake's right back average and a weakness IMO.
Very lacklustre performance by nenagh and they are a better side than they showed. I reckon that reason why nenagh took so long to get pace of game was had very easy game week before and this cost them.

I was thinking about this last night.
This would be a great venue for a Tipperary league of ireland team.
It would be central in Tipperary and would have a huge turnover of people if it happens. Some of them may go to watch a football game if the facilities were good enough.
Every year the league seems to be ruined by games being cancelled during nov, dec and jan (at least).
Any ideas how to get over this?
Which pitches dont suffer from bad weather and which ones are just terrible for getting flooded?
Should clubs with very bad pitches be forced to play out games at neutral venues. I find it terrible for the continuity of the league that we may over get two or three games between now and christmas.
Our game against ye Daz should have gone ahead. Our pitch was perfect but i had a feeling that they would call off all games this weekend due to the weather..
This happens every year for as long as i can remember and it wont change..
Oh sure it a regular occcurance, should have left until later but if games played, pitches might be unplayable for few weeks after then.we havent played in 2,3 weeks now and later in the year the league will come on to us that we behind in games and we have to play 2,3 times aweek when evening bright, always the same even though we never call a game off
Probably Killavilla?? Its only outside roscrea so should be fairly central for most of the teams apart from rearcross...it also has lights so could easily be played during the week or at night on the weekend if both clubs agreed.
Our pitch can be bad enough for getting flooded...but i dont think you can discriminate between people with bad pitches, with the amount of rain that fell on the last two weekends most pitches in the league were unplayable and the ones that werent would have been after 90 minutes of football.
Most divisions have less games this year than previous years, most of the divisions are at the half way point in the season so i dont foresee a lot of games having to be played during the week.
Myself id like to see a break taken for the worse part of the winter...no point in playing in muck, its not good football, there are more injuries and less interest. Best to have a months break and have the league starting and finishing a week or two earlier. Its the national cups that generally can cause havoc with the schedule but there is nothing that can be done with that either.
sallyman the point im making is both nenagh clubs play on average 35 games a season and thats a fact not fiction.that is why we be playing during the week and weeks after other teams are finished. Most team are gone from fai after 2,3 games and only the 2 nenagh teams really progress in MJC so it really doesnt effect many others besides maybe blackcastle or even cloughjordan. Astro turf pitches in order to be played on have to uefa standard in terms of the carpet used and lights. Ive played numerous games on astroturf as in college games and the type of game is totally different. In my opinion games should always be played on grass as one team will alays have an advantage over another on astroturf. Just ask Nenagh AFC lads who have had to play few games in cork on astro and they will tell you that it probably the reason why they got knocked from FAI and MJC
Well thats true about the two nenagh teams, but in fairness its hard to fit 35 games into a season every year there are bound to be issues. Im not sure if the Killavilla pitch is up to UEFA standard...they might be...i doubt there is a pitch up to UEFA standards that is within a reasonable traveling time for all clubs in the division
Sallyman , the nearest i know that is ,is the one in Athlone IT, quality it is. not sure how good the astro is in thurles school, it big enough anyway. Surely their is one in limerick.
heard all north tipp games are off this weekend.. I am presuming that the FAI Junior cup matches are still on.. Mad to know if i can go on the beer !!
lads i could not believe my eyes when i read the scoreline from the blackcastle game, cahir are at the bottom of the tsdl with just 6 points from 8 games this season and blackcastle are by all accounts one of the top sides in north tipp,to lose 6 nil has to be a huge disappointment after peake villa comfortably winning in nenagh 3 weeks ago
I have to say, North Tipp referees are of a poor standard. This is not said as the result of one game. I have made this judgement after years of experience.
