I have 39 of the 56 goals Doyle has scored for Reading on video on my Desktop (I did say he has scored some decent ones for Ireland if you weren't reading), unless the remaining 17 are all these wonder goals you describe I don't see how I could be wrong, I'll happily upload the videos if you don't believe me. The majority of the goals I missed are from Tuesday matches because those used to be unfindable.
Again, please tell me where I said they were as good players as Doyle is, you are the second person to suggest I said that and still have not shown where I did. I simply said I do no want him at Wolves because I believe the money could be going to a player who could shore up the midfield or defense. Hell I never even said I wanted Fortune, LuaLua, Owen, or Martins (who everyone seems to have forgotten I mentioned), I just said if Wolves were going to get a striker I'd prefer them to Doyle. I also said this would be good move for Ireland. I swear people here only read half of what is written sometimes.
I've just gone back and watched all of those 39 goals. There were a few penalties (all of which were while he played in the EPL), two from outside the box (one of which the keeper probably should've gotten), about 28 tap-ins or headers from 6 yards, and the one scissors kick. The funny thing is in '05-'06 he does actually appear to be the striker I am describing who is actually capable of scoring more than tap-ins or penalties but since then he does not with 3 of his 6 goals actually requiring more than one touch (including that scissors kick).
Here:
and here:
You're not actually saying that you would prefer players who you think are worse than Doyle?
You've said that nowhere. Stop lying. Just admit what you said (it's black and white FFS) and try and argue your point rather than making stuff up.Quote:

You do realise that's what people are actually pulling you up on?Quote:

Well you have not said that in thread.Quote:

People have read exactly what you've written. Nobody can guess what are apparantly when in fact it's just a crap attempt at a back track.
So goals before December don't count?
His second season with Reading he was played out of position on the right wing. Of course you know that but you'd prefer to ignore that fact. It's also common knowledge that he struggled with injuries in the second half of the season and when he recovered Coppell did not want to change his team.
You do realise that what strikers generally do?Quote:
and all were from 6 yards or less (though one was not just a freebie and actually a nice header).
And how do you think he got in those positions? There's loads more aspects to goalscoring than actually finishing when you get the ball. Off the ball movement and positioning, amongst other things, are vital. There's very few strikers with better movement in the Premiership than Doyle.
Being a good player does not mean you fit well in to a system, Iwelumo and Ebanks-Blake worked well together (I also have all of Wolves' goals from this year if you want proof)
I haven't seen anyone argue that Doyle is better than Martins
People have read exactly what you've written. Nobody can guess what are apparantly when in fact it's just a crap attempt at a back track.
They count, and the same thing happened Iwelumo, Wolves will need people who can score consistently and Ebanks-Blake can do that with the help of Iwelumo, Doyle is unnecessary.
His second season was 06/07 and his most successful season. I've already addressed the injury thing I guess you overlooked it.
Many of the goals were on corner kicks or free kicks and so of course he was already in those positions, I suppose I will just say it again because apparently they don't teach reading comprehension over there and maybe it will sink in this time. Doyle might be a better striker than the others but I don't think he will be enough of a positive asset to be worth the 5.6 million or whatever it is. I also said that tap-ins are important but I don't expect there to be as many against Premier League defenses or with Wolves shoddy midfield.
Very Late Edit: I just heard a Jason Scotland to Burnley rumor. I like Scotty and he is a good striker (besides, it seems, when playing for T&T :() and I think he will do well at Burnley if he signs. However, I wouldn't want Wolves to sign him, he's too alike to Ebanks-Blake and at 10 million quid he would not be worth it. Do you see the connection?
Jason Scotland is valued at £2m.
More on Doyle
Wolves are ready to break their club's transfer record with a £6.5m move for Reading forward Kevin Doyle
Full story: Daily Mail
The Irish Sun claims 5 clubs want to sign Doyle. Sunderland, West Ham, Wolves, Fulham and Everton. Wolves lead the race but he'd prefer a move Sunderland but won't wait around to see if Bruce will make a move. Sorry no link.
I wish him the best of luck and hope he gets a move to Fulham or Everton. I don't think a move to Sunderland or West Ham would be that great because he is too alike to Kenwyne Jones and Carlton Cole (though a little different from Cole) though I think he'd do better at both of those places compared to Wolves. Also I saw Burnley had a 10m bid for Scotland thats why I wrote that.
From Sunderland site's rumour mill:
Richard Dunne --> Sunderland
Stephen Hunt --> Sunderland
Daryl Murphy --> Ipswich
Paul McShane --> Ipswich
Roy O'Donovan --> Hartlepool
Anthony Stokes --> Hibernian
and finally and interestingly
Lomana Tresor LuaLua --> Sunderland
My mistake Worm.
Another Hunt-Doyle rumour
Reading face a double bid from Sunderland for winger Stephen Hunt and striker Kevin Doyle.
Full story: Daily Mirror
If the rumours are true that Darren Bent is also on his way to the SoL, Doyle would only be 3rd choice striker unless Bruce is going to cash in on Jones.
Lua Lua:). Had to laugh at that myself. He's only 28! I thought he'd be well in his 30s.
Fulham also interested in Doyle, according to the Times: http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/...249415890.html
bolton set to make a bid for doyle
:rolleyes:
His level is much better than that. He has actual quality why go to a team like Bolton?:confused: Come on some proper clubs put a bid in for Doyler.
I think the clubs are at Doyles level. People need to take off the green tinted glasses. Moves to either Sunderland, Fulham or West Ham would be a big step up for Kevin as they will be pushing for a top 10 finish with one eye on a unlikely European berth. Fulham are already in Europe. As for Bolton and Wolves, I think they struggle but will just have enough to stay up and kick on. Doyle is hardly the missing piece of the jigsaw for Everton. He isn't any better than Saha or Yakubu.
Mark Yeates looks like he is moving to Middlesboro, a step up for the lad.

Just a very small piece in the Sunderland Echo about Robbie Keane.
Could be used as makeweight for a deal with Kenwyne Jones.
A load of rubbish if you ask me but I just thought I'd post it all the same.

I think the Irish national team are terrible in terms of players but Doyle is actually good, if he went to a team with good service he would score plenty of goals. Better option than Emile Heskey for Aston Villa anyway.
If he played for a national team that actually created chances, he'd have a great record too.
Cian Houghton on trial at Lincoln city:

Also Patrick Cregg is rumoured to be signing for Hibs.
Billy Clarke to Blackpool. Could turn out to be a very good move for him:

Donal McDermott signed a two year deal with Man City: http://www.mcfc.co.uk/default.sps?pa...newsid=6635191
Robbie Keane linked with Aston Villa: http://www.people.co.uk/sport/footba...name_page.html
Villa have money after selling Gareth Barry to Man City, but they don't really need to strengthen up front, so this remains to be seen.
