Yes but the game v Shannon is a 6 pointer, I think everyone up the top of the table will be shouting for a draw.

The backbone of that team is made up of players who survived in 2A on the last day of the season that hardly sounds like a recipe for getting into premier,
Yere B team was very average last season. i'm amazed that any of those lads are playing 1A this season apart from 1 or 2 maybe

there are 6 players starting every game from last seasons B team and a few more going in and out it makes you wonder how bad the standard of 1A is this season

it certainly does mate. the standard of 2A last season was nothing special either. we've played croom and geraldines in the cups this season, beat croom and lost to geraldines. there was very little difference between the teams to be honest. mungret are a very good side though in fairness and deserve to go up to premier. we played summerville B twice last year and they were quite poor on both occasions, didn't score 1 goal against us and we're not anything special

There's a long way to go in this yet...if shannon were to beat us i can't see them gettin maximum points from their games against star and croom next week...there will be points dropped by everybody in the run in. It's just who drops the least amount and who they drop them against. If we beat shannon we can afford to slip up afterwards and still be favourites to go up. It's all still very tight

Based on the above your team should be in 1A and just behind Mungret. Does your logic mean that when any lower division team beats a higher division team in a cup they are good enough to take that teams place in the higher division? Wonder how ye would get on against the Croom team that lined out over the last few weeks.

i never said we should be in 1A. we're in 2A because that's where we deserve to be. we beat a good croom side and there was very little difference between the teams on the day. and i'm proud of my team for beating a team 2 divisions higher so don't try to twist it into anything else or mis-quote me. it's people like you who try to start arguments on this site and irritate people into a slagging match

why not if KP were in 1A they'd pick up a few players and do fine, croom are a bit of joke at times, spanking teams one week and not turing up other weeks. the standard in 1A is nothing special or premier apart from 5 or 6 teams,

As you say "they'd pick up a few players". Not the 11 that goes out at the moment.

Not trying to stir anything up. You should be proud of your team for beating a team 2 divisions higher but a one off result against a side in a higher division tells you nothing about the standard of football in that division. The standard is certainly not high in 1A or as your mate said the bottom six teams in the premier but in saying that you don't see many teams go from 1b up to 1a then the following season get promoted to Premier. Look how Prospect & Croom got on this year in 1A. They both noticed a difference after getting promoted last year.

Kilmallock and Dromore got promoted to the Premier League last year from Division 1A after being promoted the previous year from Division 1B. The standard of Division 1A is shocking this season compared to previous years.

It was last season that Dromore & Kilmallock got promoted, this year Croom & Prospect are no where near promotion. I agree the standard is poor but it is even poorer the lower you go in the divisions.

i wouldn't fully agree with you there mate. this year there is little or no difference between 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B. knocklong beat corbally's premier team, cals beat dromore, athlunkard beat croom and there's many more examples. this is the 1st season in limerick that the standard has been so similar between these divisions. even moyross in 3A would give most 1A teams a good run

You can come up with statistics to back any argument. How about this one: Mungret hammered Pallas Utd 8-2 in the Munster junior at a canter earlier in the season. Pallas are pi$$ing 2A at the moment. Are you trying to tell me there is no difference between both teams. Also Caherdavin were easily relegated from 1A last year and are in the shake up to be promoted from 1B this year. 1A is poor but as previously stated on this thread, the divisions get poorer and poorer as you move on down. Ye might have beaten Croom earlier in the season but i can assure you ye would'nt live with them now considering the team they are fielding at the moment.

you have no way of knowing how we would get on against croom, that's a hypathetical argument which makes no sense, unless you organise a match between us and croom and go down and watch it. as for caherdavin, they had no players last season and a manager who didn't put in the effort. this season they have 16 or 17 players turning up fighting for places and a very good manager. and if you read my previous posts you will see that i have said mungret are the best team in 1A by a mile and deserve to be premier. pallas are the fittest team in 2A and that's why they are walking the league, they came up against a quality mungret side who made bits of them with their passing game. the matches in the cups between teams from 1A to 2B have been good close games

Firstly thanks to Geraldines for agreeing to change the time of the game, it means alot and it shows that there is still room for compassion even between two clubs fighting for promotion, It wont be forgotten.
And thank you to everyone who sypathised with me and my family we really appreciate it.
As for the LDMC im not going to say anything about them its not my place, they know what they have done and what they do so they have to try live with their decisions.

What about when star(in the runninf for promotion in 1a) played our B team in the munster junior..3-2 was the final score to star but we should have won that game(abbeyvale i think will agree)...and pallas are not running away with 2a....if we win our games in hand we are 4 points off them...thats not exactly running away with the league!!
