That's very sad - motor neuron is a really horrible thing. Think I saw an interview with him only a week or two ago?
Also last week - Tony Green from Bullseye ("Iiiiiiiin One"), aged 85.
You lads of a certain 80s vintage like myself a will surely mourn Eric Carmen. His eyes were hungry. And a good woman could make him lose control.
Saw the raspberries open for KISS at MSG at some point. Good times?
Its funny, I always thought that was Michael Bolton
Paul Alexander, age 78. Never heard of him, but seems he was paralysed by polio in 1952 and was living in an iron lung ever since. He had to teach himself to breathe independently but still could never fully leave the lung. Despite that, he picked up a law degree and was called to the bar.
There's only one other person on an iron lung in the US it seems - Martha Lillard, who contracted polio in 1953 age 5. The polio vaccine was introduced in 1955 (though the 1956 All-Ireland finals were postponed here because of a polio epidemic)
Rose Dugdale, the daughter of an English millionaire who became an IRA activist during "the troubles".https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_Dugdale
Emmet Stagg, Labour Politician who caused a bit of a furore back in the day when he was caught loitering in an area frequently by male prostitutes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmet_Stagg
Steve Harley of Cockney Rebel..."Come up and see me"..
Louis Gossett Jr from the film that makes all of you all tear up, An Officer And A Gentleman.
World's oldest man, Juan Vicente Perez https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Vicente_P%C3%A9rez
Twenty-six times capped Joe Kinnear, 77.
This is well worth a 10 minute sit-down with a cup of tea:

Certainly a character was Joe!
OJ Simpson
Dickey Betts of the Allmans
Probably one of the few on here to see Charlie play. My parents brought me to my first game in 1962 vs Iceland (won 4-2) and Charlie played in that I think. Commanding centre back of the old school.
Bernard Hill, the Captain in the Titanic movie https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Hill
Steve Albini. 61
This one got me.
Michael "Jimmy" James, a Jamaican-British soul singer, known for songs like "Come to Me Softly", "Now Is the Time" and "I'll Go Where Your Music Takes Me" https://youtu.be/FCrO2B2CkpI
Based in Britain, he performed as the lead singer of Jimmy James and the Vagabonds from the mid-1960s
Dabney Coleman....
Tootsie? Wargames? 9 to 5? Cloak and Dagger?
You lads loved him in the 80s

William Anders, Apollo 8 astronaut who took the famous Earthrise photo. Died age 90 in a plane crash - he was the pilot, so safe to say he had a full life till the end.

Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh 93 famed GAA commentator and RTE Journalist and Sligo fan Tommy Gorman 68.
"This is hurting you, isn't it?" is certainly a big part of my memories of '02.
Tommy was a close friend of Keane's and a Man U fan. It was like Mary Lou interviewing Gerry Adams - no difficult question was ever going to be asked. Tommy Gorman was probably one of the few people Keane would have done the interview for.
Sad and bizarre losing two big RTE personalities on the same day. RIP.
Joe Wallace ex Wexford Youths player and son of Mick Wallace only 30 years old the chap was.
John O’Mahoney, former Gaelic footballer, manager and pundit, TD and Senator, and my old teacher for five years in secondary school, only 71.
He was nick-named Savage in school, one of those opposite names that only teenage lads can come up with with absolute certainty their logic is right. I don’t think I ever saw him lose his temper – and it wasn’t for lack of trying from some of the yahoos he taught…
We’re in his classroom. Two of the lads have been having fun all day, hurling insults in Aussie accents straight out of Home and Away, Season 1. 'Tim' has his arms crossed on the desk, head down on them, eyes shut. He hears the door close and thinks it’s John leaving (it’s one of the lads coming in late).
Tim: (jumps up, nearly overturning his chair) Fahck off ya pommie baaahstud.
John: What’s that, now, Tim?
Tim: (realising his mistake) Aaaah… nothing, sir. Just playing a game with one of the lads.
John: Well, maybe don’t.
Another time, checking homework in class, I realised I didn’t have mine with me. I knew it was done – mine was always done. I was sure it was in my locker. He told me to get it. But it wasn’t: I'd left it at home. Walking back to his classroom I knew I was going to get detention. I’d never been on detention (if you think I'm boring now, I was the most boring swot of a kid you could imagine!). He saw me walk in, clocked the empty hands. And carried on teaching.
That was as far as those things went. Nobody sent to the principal, no punishment handed out. No need, point made. He had a knack of knowing what worked for the person. It served him well. And those of us lucky enough to have been on the receiving end of it.
John O'Mahoney ~ ~ The Great Connaught manager of ~ Mayo / Galway / Leitrim ~ Had success with all of them and Two All-Irelands with Galway ( John being from Mayo )
Shannen Doherty.
Beverly Hills 90210. RIP
Would have been the inspiration for repeated spells of me time for several on here back in the day I bet. Durty feckers.
RIP.
Jacoby Jones, former Ravens WR (and won me a lot of fantasy football points), dead at 40. Found at his home.
And Richard Simmons who got you in shape!
Bob Newhart. It was a good run.
You're going too fast Mrs. Webb!
6 time world snooker champion Ray Reardon
