I don't think Johnson has anything to prove to anybody. He has scored goals consistently for the last 3 or 4 seasons and I don't think there is a single striker that everton could have who have been better. We have been crying out for a bit of pace since kanchelskis and like i said, he will bring the best out of beattie.

I've the agrument about arteta with lots of people. He is obviously not at the level of the likes of gerrard, lampard, ballack but he is at very top of second tier of midfielders in the prem. Excellent passer, great vision, superb on set pieces and loves a tackle. He also showed a pretty good turn of pace when he played on the wing towards the end of the season. Probably the only reason that he is not in the spain squad is that he doesn't offer enough of a goal threat.

Obviously, Lescott is a gamble but he is very highly rated and only time will tell.

You could be right about Cahill, he had a bit of a break around christmas i think and it did him the world of good. I wouldn't mind seeing him get an extra couple of weeks off because he is natrually fit anyway and is a great asset when fully fit.

Don't know where you heard that Van Der Meyde doesn't want to play. I could get you 3 or 4 articles since the end of the season where he says how much he wants to play for us next season. He played 90 mins on Saturday and although he tired towards the end, he is supposed to have played very well.

What about liverpool????

HHmmmm this season holds so much promise

last year beattie was injured for the start of the season only got going in october and still bagged 11 goals if he gets a good run injury free id hope for that to jump to 15 , playing with AJ will help him aswell as last year playing with Mcfadden (as much as i like the guy he isnt prem quality yet) left him on his own up front most of the season .

AJ should get 15 goals as well i hope he cuts out the diving we dont want cheats at everton , he has proven he can score goals so he better stay on his feet .

VDM now fit thank god probibly the second best ball carrier/ passer we have after Artetta , wants to stay and prove himself and hopefully injury free he will .

Lescott and yobo hopefully form a tight partnership and hopefully yobo signs the feckin contract stop arsenal sniffing around .

Hibbert one of the most under-rated player in the league should defo be on the england team ahead of neville and carra at right back.

WC Semi finalist nuno valente having settled in the area should now give a good performance .

Howard in goals loosing Martyn was such a kick in the stones one of the best keepers in the prem over the last 2 or 3 years , loosing him was worse than loosing rooney . hopefully howard does the job because Richard "i cant jump off the ground "wright is rubbish . and turner wont be ready for another year .

Cahill and Artetta in midfield will be as dangerous as ever along with neville offering a bit of steel plus the class osman brings and as allways super lee carsley .

Kilbane and Davies should be gotten rid of , weir and stubbs used only as cover or for league cup games along with that other squad members such as naysmith, pistone etc ...

Plus dont forget the kids Vic you just broke into the first team at the end of last season scored 2 the other day for the first team in a friendly , plus JP Kissock might make the step up


im thinking a top 10 finish at least its progress but realisticly top 7 , remember we only finished a few points behind our 4th place tally from 2 years ago 2 or 3 more wins would have gotten us up in the mix again , only for the terrible start when we lost 7 out of 8 after being robbed in the champs league by that dodgy ITALIAN ref !?! .

Won't be rushing out to buy it though. It's due to be replaced again next season, as this is Carlsberg's final year of shirt sponsorship, and a new kit will have to be designed to accommodate the new sponsor next year. :o

He played a stormer against Chelsea in the Anfield semi as well. Diao is actually on trial at Charlton at the moment. So in addition to maybe buying Traore, they could take Diao as well.....that's if the lazy muppet performs. Dowie is as stupid as he looks :D
