Avenue drew 2 all last year with them. And I think newmarket narrowly lost in a friendly also. Its preseason lads. You cant make much from games played.

Disagree with you there Shuffles - Carew are one of Limericks best sides , Olympic are one of the Clare Premier Leagues worst sides - had they gone to any of the above mentioned sides they would have given them a good game , you have to consider that none of the current CPL teams have achieved anything in the National Leagues .
Have to agree with Planners - CSL is poor compared to other leagues , nothing achieved in a long time
surely when you lose a game you see what weaknesses you have, where you were punished, how limited your team are. Who said anything about a curve, it must be great in your brain, we win we are great, we lose we are crap! btw its easy to manage a team that wins, try managing one that isn't winning!!!!

i agree to a certin point but these lessons would be achieved in a closer fought contest , the only thing you learn from a 6-1 defeat is that your boxing above your weight , i'd be fairly sure that after 3/4 goals hte head drops and players tend not to give a fiddlers what the final resutl is , they only want to get off the pitch !
obviously its easy to manage a team thats winning but alot of the winning of games is done in pre season and training , i really hope your not a manager
well said planners
[QUOTE=Planners;1770428]you sound like you know what you are talking about:p !
A good manager and good players will be looking to take any positives out of it and limiting the mistakes, then improving themselves ! Or else they can go play weaker teams to pat themselves on the back when they win......
planners .. how can you say Olympic are one of the clare premier leagues worst sides before the league has even started ?? they have a decent squad and added a few good players would fancy them to do ok in premier this season and would be a big surprise if the finished in bottom three
I agree with planners I dont think they will be strong enough..especially physically you look at all the top premier teams they all have a ball winner in the middle of the park and a big strong fast centre half..I dont think olympic have them.. they have very skillfull lads with good energy but that won't be good enough. . Hopefully im wrong. .
Dont get me wrong OG , i admire Olympic and all they've done , good club men, but for some reason they promise the sun moon and stars at the start of a season and end up fighting relagation ! , seems to happen every year - i suppose when you look at the squad alot of the players are average and as second says physically average , dont like mentioning names but RQ is pushing on and has lost alot of his pace that would have normally got him through games , he would be considered one of the better players !
planners
i have to disagree again " i admire olympic on what have they done ??? good club men ?? "
they have no underage set-up /youth team have a pitch which needs alot of work to make it playable in winter ? only survive year to year getting (poaching) players of other teams in shannon i would agree on looking good pre season and falling away as season finishes .. but this year i think they have added players to squad to stay up i would take a guess and say it has been a while since you last seen olympic play they only problem i can see is trying to keep all the squad happy as a lot of the lads they have signed would be expecting to play every week.
OG
Many teams in Clare survive as one team club , dont think there would be enough teams down through the leagues if this wasnt the case !
I have played against Olympic last season and have seen them play over the season . there isnt one team in Clare that dosnt "poach" players and its the nature of the beast , lads move from club to club under the impression they are better than they think !
We'll have to wait and see how they get on ..........
Lifford could really struggle from what I saw tonight. 8 2 against Avenue B.
I thought they had a good lot of the tage team signed they should be strong enough..
