I liked Wolf Creek. Freaky alright but there are too many horrors out there that are not really scarey. Actually theres very few that are.
I was very dissapointed by Ring. I liked The Grudge though.

Watched Wolf Creek last night and to be honest it was ****e. Not very disturbing at all, just another slasher movie. Disappointed really.
The Grudge was a good movie and I also loved the Ring.
sugerhouse.. came across it on tv-links, dont know why i watched it as i never watch things ive never heard off.... quite enjoyed it though!.

on Horror movies, I have seen nothing that put the scare on me since i first saw the original version of "the omen" and also (probably cause i was a nipper at the time) the firstntime i saw "the exorcist". by the way, a channel 4 documentry from the 90's on the making f the exorcist was even scarier!strange goings on!! Nothing really memorable since. I dont like, what i would call fantasy horrors, such as the grudge/ring etc. I prefer things that deal with the occult, paranormal as I have a small belief in such things!! (damn u catholic ireland, uv turned me into a bi tch):D
the breakfast club.
Saw Evan Almighty today, not too bad:o :p.
Evil Dead 2 is fantastic crack.Get it out if you havent seen it.
I saw "Just Friends" last night. Some very funny moments.
Knocked Up is actually quite good if any of you are heading to the cinema in the next few days/weeks
Yep I'd go along with Jebus on Knocked up - entertaining but could have been sharpened up if they lost a few scenes. Very unrealistic though - I mean as if that blonde babe is gonna sleep with that porker???!!! :)
The HOAX is good.
I watched Alpha Dog on DVD the other night and though it was decent, based on a true story (lad gets kidknapped over a drug feud). Boxing fans out there should note that Fernando Vargas acts very well in it.
Heading to cinema later.
I don't no anything about No Reservations. Whats that?
saw that super bad last nite. would well recommend it. very funny.
Mysterious Skin (with Joseph Gordon levitt of 3rd rock fame) is a pretty disturbing but wrenching film that I'd recommend highly.
1408 anyone?
saw Primer , enjoyed it but didnt have a clue what was going on for the last 20 minutes
and Apocalpyto was good entertainment with plenty of Hollywood cliches thrown in
Reign Over Me - great acting from Don Cheadle and the most underrated actor in Hollywood - Adam Sandler (up there with his performances in Punch-Drunk Love and Happy Gilmore)
Saw Hallam Foe tonight. Excellent film, highly reccomended.
Simpsons Movie is only ok. Not many belly laughs.
Showing pretty much everywhere

"Road to Perditon" if nobody has mentioned it, loved it, great music score, and cinematography.
Also "Happiness" by Todd solondz, a black comedy about Peodophilia, truly deranged.
woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown, cool spanish film, almodovar.
other spanish films to check out
spirit of the beehive
viridiana ( dir: bunuel)
la ardilla roja ( dir: medem)
vascas ( Dir: medem)
Anyone mention From Dusk 'Til Dawn yet?
Great hijack flick turns into bonkers vampire shoot out in a bar in Mexico.
Also contains the scene I would quite happily die acting out
Saw Atonement last night , have to say I thorougly enjoyed it , might not be to everyones taste , but worth going to see for a fantastic tracking shot on the beach at Dunkirk alone
Saw "3:10 to Yuma" yesterday, class film. Cinematography was very good and the acting wasn't too bad either. Christian Bale is one of my favourite actors, did a good job as Batman (next Batman movie looks very good too!) and I loved Harsh Times. Also look up The Machinist, American Psycho, The Prestige and The Empire of the Sun.
Thought 1408 was very poor. Rushed at the end and if they're going to use a lot of CGI then at least make sure it's well done which I didn't think they did in this movie. It's just one of those Stephen King novels that are better left as a book.
Movies to keep a look out for:
American Gangster - Ridley Scott
The Heartbreak Kid - Farrelly brothers
No country for old men - Coen brothers
Sweenet Todd The Demon Barber from Fleet Street - Tim Burton
I could go on forever but I won't! :D
It's Tarantino who gets that particular pleasure.

The entire scene for the interested - tetsujin1979 is talking about the bit about 2 and a half minutes in.
[QUOTE Which scene was that then? Watching Salma Hayek dance??!!
[/QUOTE]
There is a better one in Dogma - see you tube
Saw Fugitive Pieces at the Atlantic Film Festival on Saturday night. Excellent adaptation of Ann Michaels's novel. Very moving.
Seen two films yesterday and both were easily the worst films I've ever seen. The Terminal on RTÉ last night and Disturbia in the pics yesterday afternoon and my god they made painful viewing.
