Stu was right. True Blood does improve. It takes 4 or 5 episodes before it clicks into place but worth the wait. Sookie (Anna Paquin) is a babe and another positive!
Got into Heroes lately. Watched the first 2 episode when it originally screened on bbc and didn't like it but got the box set now and am enjoying it
Boston Legal tonight 12.10 rte 1. 1 of the best on tele IMO, love it
californication, just got season 1 tonight, watched 4 eps, excellent show, probably more a show for men, i now understand why ducovny went to sex rehab:D:D
Ideally one likes to be made laugh while watching Comedy. I am glad to report this has been the case for me while watching the current series of Peep Show.
Not a classic series by any means but last Nights episode included a few scenes which were very very funny.
FlashForward is good enough so far , quite cheesy though !
I find Eastbound & Down pretty funny. It's very stupid but funny at the same time. It's produced/written by Will Ferrell, afaik, so that'd give you an idea of it.
Flashforward has 2 more episodes to convince me that it isn't a sack of sh**.
New show started last week in the US called White Collar. It's decent and will fill the void after 3 other shows I watched finished a few weeks back. The guy who played Bryce Larkin in Chuck is the main man in this one.
Review.
Flash Forward actually looked interesting this week, anyone confirm this? I may be wrong as I haven't managed to see the whole episode yet.
Will have to look out for white collar, enjoy burn notice - don't like how how it sandwiches a story between the, often totally unrelated, bits that advance the story arc, enjoyable romp none the less.
Would like to recommend a couple of comedies.
Community, with Chevy Chase - he popped up somewhere else too recently (oh boy!), but think that show's been recommended already :)
Also Modern Family, with Ed O'Neil.
I have to say i'm enjoying Modern Family. Its definately a breathe of fresh as opposed to 95% of the crap on TV these days. Ed O' Neil, who plays the grandfather, is brilliant :D I would recommend it :)
Modern family has my missus in stitches (the chubby gay guy in particular). I don't mind it and it's easy to watch.
Just watched Firefly followed by the film Serenity and thought it was quality.
Started watching V yesterday, watched the first 4 episodes, good so far.
My regular shows are (beware girly shows included) One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Bones, Criminal Minds
Any fans of Mad Men here ? Just finished Season 3 - the best yet. No other programme evokes a time and place like this one.
Love Mad Men myself. Only gotten as far as the end of Season 2 yet though I hear it gets even better. It really is like a snaphot of the 60s. Oh and I wish I was married to January Jones.
Wouldn't say no to her either to be fair, plus that Jane one from season 2.
Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm are my two favourite shows at the moment, absolutely brilliant both of them. Hate having to wait for the next episode or next season. Wish i was back at the start again with loads to watch.
friday night lights
modern family
misfits

gavin and stacey
The Wire, Oz, Dexter and the holy three of Peep Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm and anything Alan Partridge related.
Early Doors is running again at the minute on G.O.L.D.
What an absolute and utter delight of a show this is.
I think the original thread was they had to be in production, but I'm uprating the Soprano's. I've started it again, and I'm enjoying it more second time around (I don't know whether not having to wait a week is making a difference).
I found the same, and with other series as well. You'd forget little things from week to week. Box set is really the way to go. A lot of the time I'll just wait until that comes out before I get into a programme.
Have to agree with you, watched it first time round on BBC and waited patiently for it to be released on DVD. Brilliantly written by Craig Cash who played "Joe" and Phil Mealy who played his friend and constant drinking partner "Duffy". Waited patiently for a third series but it never materialised.
Hardy Bucks.
Damages.
I'm nearly finished season two. Excellent show. Glenn Close is brilliant in it.
Couple of recommendations to watch out for this year from HBO. Boardwalk Empire, which looks like it's going to be a 1920's style Sopranos that will start around September/October. The Pacific, which starts on March 14th.
Second series of True Blood started Friday on FX, keeping up the excellence from the last season.
saw the first episode of the pacific last night. Starts off slow, and picks up in the last 15-20 minutes.
