Good regional mix alright. If Derry win tomorrow - possibility of an Ulster derby, Dublin derby, Munster derby and a Connacht derby.

Sure the cup is not what it used to be:smirk:
Used to be neutral about English teams. Worked in pubs in Belfast for a few years. Now it's anyone but Liverpool. Anecdotally, they appear like the most anti-LoI/IL of all the English club fans.
Enjoyable evening tonight flicking between games, even if none went to ET. Switched over the Harps one in the first half. Harps looked decent, controlled the game.
Cork also seemed to be good, and Waterford not at all. Poor showing in the second half from them, and Cork looked comfortable even when Waterford were trying to pile on the pressure later on. Cork were great at killing the game, wasting time, buying fouls. Horrible to watch, but you'd love it if it was your team.
Sligo full value for their win? They're just hot and cold at the moment.
Really good performance from Harps tonight. Reacted well to going a goal down and really could have scored more too.
Gives a bit of hope for the last quarter of the season.
Just an awful performance from Bohs with a baffling team section from the manager too. I don't know what has happened to Talbot but he can't seem to even take a goal kick anymore, he's a shell of the player he was. Love Bucko too, but he shouldn't be starting important games at this stage of his career.
The less said about some other the better, but I wouldn't shed a tear if Parsons isn't here next season. I'm repeating myself at this stage but how Kavanagh managed to get a new deal in the summer is one of the more bizarre decisions I've seen in a while by a club.
Fair play to Sligo though, Russell has them set up well and with Elding, Fitzgerald, Hakiki and O'Kane they have a very exciting front four.
On this, I honestly think a part of the reason why the loi has gotten some buy in from Irish people post pandemic is how ****e Man united have been and their fans looking for any alternative. Stands to reason Liverpool fans have been more stubborn.
I don't think it's the hottest take to say if LOI attendances would double.
For the European prize money on offer, bad losses for Bohs and Waterford. Cobh and Bray are comfortably in the playoffs. The top 3 in the First Division should be able to have a good cut at going for the cup.
Harps controlled the game well. Again as bad a refereeing performance as you'll see! Hoping for Kerry, Derry or Sligo at home in the quarters. Defo going to be Cork away though. 4th year in 6 in the quarters
Yeah, I've been impressed with Sligo any time I've seen them, and they were worthy swimmers last night. You were unlucky with the sending off last Sunday, and it could have been a different result with 11 v 11. (Having said that, Pats still had to take advantage, which we did well). Have always had a lot of time for Sligo as a club, and I'd like to see them make it to the Aviva (except if they meet us along the way of course;))
Damien McGraith continued his good vein of form in Finn Park, handing out 14 yellows and a red card. Ignored another stonewall red card for a two footed lunge and gave a number of bizarre decisions too. You think he'd be on the lookout for a calm and reasonable performance after the headlines he's been grabbing lately.
Seen in the Irish Sun today that Owen Elding is being scouted by a few foreign clubs one of them Juventus! Cant see him lasting the full season considerin his rate of progress!
He’ll be here the rest of this season and gone after that by all accounts
Drogheda ahead after 2 minutes in Derry ,the home side asleep….
Drogheda are possibly the worst team in the division to give a lead to
What's the story withPats honestly tickets for tomorrow? Don't seem to be selling well.
Unless you have Micky Duffy
Michael Duffy is the best player in the league still
Take him out and Derry are very poor
Cracking watch tbf, and really well reffed by Harvey, never thought I’d say that
Didn’t look too much in that disallowed goal
It was 6 of one half a dozen of the other, shouldn’t have been ruled out..
Doesnt Keeley go through the back of Duffy there
Derry have absolutely Derry'd it there.
Delighted for Drogs.
Another game in the Brandywell, another disgraceful last minute dive from a derry player.
All the money in the world, they lack everything Drogs have in spades and they'll limp along for another year. :)
Bohs and derry season over in mid August, what's not to love 😘
I’d say there’s a good chance Lynch won’t see the end of the season, for the money being spent there you wouldn’t know it….
Have a feeling 4th place won’t be getting Europe this season. Going to be a right old battle for 2nd and 3rd.
I'd expect us to beat longford today, but our record in the cup over the last 40 yrs (!) is pretty woeful so I'm expecting to lose to either Drogs away in the QF or Sligo in the aviva.
boez would/should have been a decent shout for the cup this year, it would have bookended the season nicely for a Rovers/Bohs final in the aviva - as we all know on here, football will always let you down:)
Sh!t we're turning in to Finn Harps!
Just a point of interest, if we are just taking the last 40 years, just in general like, Dundalk have 8 leagues 5 cups, Rovers have 9 leagues and 3 cups, both in a couple of European groups, Dundalk shade it with 1 more 1st Division title, possibly 2 and avoiding examinership. We all know where the real competative footballing rivalry is, not this one sided Dublin Derby Bohs day malarkey.;)
Just hoping we keep it respectful today to be brutally honest. Even with the rovers reserves out it could be a cricket score
Huge one in Richmond today. There is a lot on the line for both sides. It will be interesting how Shels line up with a huge European game next week. Not sure what the crowd will be like with Oasis and a big premier league match on at the same time.
I’m an aul lad but Dundalk have always been our main rival IMO. 2nd most successful club and a rivalry that has always been spicy.
(Rovers have 3 group stage qualifications BTW)
The needle has gone out of the Bohs fixtures at least for me. They haven’t been mapped as footballing force for 16 years now.
We could lose all 4 games against them this year and still comfortably win the league. And that would be just fine.
