If some of our players eased up any more they'd be asleep.

First Division Champions 2016 Limerick FC had a kick around tonight against a cork fc selection who were clearly eager to impress on their first trip to the Markets Field.
i see Daryl Carrigy tweeted to say he is in both Athlone squads for Saturday so I wonder is that a case for all of their players or what? Agree with the lads it's totally pointless playing this game, we should have organised something else
An enjoyable Malone Cup match in Drogheda. Dundalk won 2-0 but Drogheda had a couple of chances that they will rue missing.
The match was played on a really slippy surface and both sets of players struggled with the surface.
I was impressed with the effort and organisation of Drogheda. It's hard to predict how they will do in the first division. I've never seen a lighter team in the LOI.
They looked so small and young. Even Michael O'Connor, our 17 year old striker looked years older than some of the Drogheda lads.
Who was the right back? Very tidy player.
Our game with Shelbourne has been moved to the astro pitch at Fahy's Field, Mervue due to Deacy Park being unplayable.
Our game v Athlone goes ahead this afternoon but their game v Wexford is off. As predicted earlier in the thread before the Wexford game was even confirmed.
Was it the FAI or Leinster League or someone else responsible for our friendly to be cancelled to accommodate this game that both Athlone and Wexford knew they wouldn't be fit to facilitate? And now our friendly has been fixed at a bad time that will stop a good few supporters from going to. And so the circus begins!
In terms of rescheduling for a 3.00 kick off you can't blame anyone else. But it was the FAI or LSL that insisted that Athlone had to play Wexford today, when our game was already sanctioned. They appear to be playing each other in a friendly next week anyway so why can't that be the LSC game?
That LSL cup game has been postponed.
UCD 4-2 Finn Harps FT
Galway Utd 1-2 Shelbourne FT
Cobh 0-4 Cork City
Longford 3-1 Athlone FT
I think we had the friendly scheduled before they organised the cup game.
Athlone v Youths was arranged as a friendly for 20/2 weeks ago. When we were drawn in the LSC, it was agreed by the FAI to waive the 31/1 deadline to play LSC ties and convert the friendly in to the cup game. It was not a recent development as some are making out.
I said above that it made no sense not to change that friendly to a LSC game when it was already arranged. It does seem to have been a fairly late decision to insist the tie had to be played this weekend when the FAI had already approved our friendly with Athlone. What difference would a few days have made? As it turns out the game couldn't be played today anyway. Nonsense.
Rovers 1 Derry 0. Jaanai Gordon with the goal.
Lost 3-1 V Bray in LSC it's only early days but certain things were slightly concerning but Fagan looked lively & if he gets the service will score plenty this season.
Looking to be the best Bray side in years they will defiantly take a few scalps this season on the other we were poor particularly in the second half.
Bray Wanderers 0-1 Waterford United
Eoin Rhodes with the goal on he's debut
Mouth of doom stuff outspoken and D24saint if ever there was. Waterford were awful from what I saw in Oriel so I hope Bray had their youths out!
We beat Longford 4-0 tonight. Two each for Ryan Connolly & Vinny Faherty.
Wonderful, emotional scenes in St. Colmans Park tonight as minnows cobh ramblers beat First Division Champions 2016 Limerick FC 1 - 0 in the Munster Senior Cup. It's giant killings like this that make football the beautiful game.
Im not worried by last nights result. It was a hugely experimental and youthful side and Skinner has looked a lot more confident in the games I've seen him so perhaps Molloy just isn't at that level yet? Hopefully no injuries between the posts this season so.
The centre back injuries are a worry at the moment
Pats beat Bluebell 4-2 last night. Goals from, Dinny Corcoran, Billy Dennehy, Conan Byrne and Dylan McGlade
Harps drew 3-3 with Loughall last night.
Glentoran 0-1 Derry City last night. McNamee with the goal.
