Most joined Park who got to an Fai quarter final this year. A few went to other clubs around...

Cup Odds?

In the interest of getting the conversation back on football matters (or at least gambling on football), the cup threw up some surprises yesterday. Is there anyplace that gives odds on the cup, and would anyone know how these have been affected in light of the weekend's events. Also, when is the draw for the 3rd round made, is it after next weeks games?

No the squad this year has changed a good bit to be honest. We lost about 3 who went to play with the A team and a few more went their seperate ways after the change to management...

We are struggling the last 2 weeks for numbers cos of 3/4 players involved in GAA so we are depending on youths really.

I'll put it this way when Cousin Syl has to take the field himself its not a good sign of strength in depth. :D :D :D

No, I'm not aggrieved at all. Olympic won the game because they took their chances when we didn't. I'm quite sure that Olympic lads would be able to pick out incidents where they weren't happy with the ref's decisions as well, it's just that that particular one, coming when it did could have been decisive. Overall, by Clare league standards, Paddy Mul reffed the game well and we have no arguments about going out to Olympic. I do still feel that Bridge Celtic are slightly better than them having played both sides on successive Sundays, but that is not to say that Bridge can't be turned over (Kilmaley and now Corofin... I did say last week that Bridge wouldn't like the tight pitch at Harps). Motivation doesn't seem to be a problem for Olympic so really, I think they'll be too strong for Bunratty B in the league .... if they can keep it together. I fancy them for promotion.... behind Bridge Celtic!!!

Think thats it...........why would anyone leave their hometown to go out and play on a pitch that probably shouldnt meet a 5-a-side standard?

I was referring to Opengoal giving out about being called Specials and then not spelling his own club name properly... Shannon is spelled with 3 n's not 2...Obviously a typo but jeez will ye relax about it....

Anyway do ye reckon yere B team will be back to full strength for Sunday?????

To be honest your guess is about as good as mine. Some are down with flu while we've had a few pick up some ankle injuries and othrwise from the astroturf. We'll just have to see who's down at training on Thursday to know for sure. How about yourselves, will ye be missing many for the game?

Certainly was a strong team that season. We were 3-1 down to Olympic but the great Bunny came on and rescued it I remember.

I'm almost sure that was Shannon Olympic though and still am not sure who are the Shanon Olympic Opengoal mentioned a while ago.....

Just because someone talks crap to get them to join for a season or two doesn't mean they are yours or you lost them,you lost the likes of Dec Adams(Homegrown),is Trevor Toomey not back from Aus???? My point being that even at youths ye got a fella to sign 30 players from surronding area's(fair play) but these would have no alligance to Bunratty,when they get fed up they will move on. :cool: :cool:

bunratty never had 30 players signed for a youth team...where did you get that from??

I believe the draw will be made on Monday next!! Only 7 Premier teams to be included if the ones playing Sunday wins, that means 9 teams from the other 3 Divisions at least and 2 of the Favourites Lifford Oldtown and Bunratty gone, hope for us all to get to Doora for at least the Semis.

Some great league games coming up
Sunday
Kilkishen v Mountshannon Kilkishen need to win or could be relegation material
Tip away win
Rock Rovers v Tulla Again Rock will be hoping to win as they have more games played, tip away win
Kilrush v Olympic Kilrush need to win or will be doomed, drew with Olympic already, tip draw

Paddy's Day
Kilkishen v Corofin again Kilkishen will need to win to give their season a lift, Corofin will be on high after beating Bridge Celtic, tip away win
Tulla v Bunratty too one sided, tip home win
Rock V Bridge Celtic Bridge looking to bounce back, best team in the league by a country mile, tip away win
Olympic v Mountshannon, must be game of the day, Mountshannon on a great run away from home, tip draw
kilmaley v Kilrush Kilmaley on a roll, tip home win

on the injury front we should definately have our centre half and centre midfielder back from the flu..and of course collie should start up front.....great player when he wants to be...

Good chance for Tricky to turn his old club over. He seems to be enjoying his spell at the Specials...

Our best player trains the Offaly gaelic football team and was there for the wins vs Rock and Kilkishen but missed the losses to Mntshn and Kilmaley... That says how important he is to us. good to know dolan..............will be a while before we have those luxuries out at the "Stadio de Olympico" . But we do have corporate boxes this season............you wont get a ticket though, their booked out, even the corporation cant move them!!!!!!

I see you are still very touchy about your club being referred to as "Special Olympic". Relax a bit....its only a figure of speech. You dont need to keep harping on about it.

I'm basing my opinion on the form of the 2 teams in question. Rats B have only won 2 games in all competitions this season and Specials B have only lost 2 league and 1 Munster Junior....

The way things are going we could have Rats B and Specials B in the same division next season. For that reason I think it will be a close game!!!!!

All they were promised was the oppurtunity to play youths football....

Something which Newtown, Park, Shn Tn, Special Oly and Rineanna cannot offer... ;) ;) ;)

They got a set of gear sponsored and may get more depending on performance.

Dolan, are you serious? There are no youth teams in shannon at the moment?? If this is true it is a disgrace.......when i was playing youths(newtown) we had enough players for 2 teams. Park and shannon town also had strong teams. What has happened to all the kids?

I wish it was just skateboards,the problem is getting people involved,as you know the rules state that you need two people to look after underage teams and also the fact that kids now are a lot more advanced(cheeky) now than they were,ex players rarley get involved now and playing golf seems to be their only interest when they retire.The kids are out there but nobody except the rats are providing the people or the interest.

No problem for them training with the GAA!!! Is it just the youths that are gone missing, or is it all schoolboy teams? If this is the case, its very serious, if no players are coming through then in a few years Park Rangers wish will come through after all...............one club in Shannon :(
