I think Shannoside v Broadford game is the pick of the games.... think NCW and Abbey to win comfortably and Broadford to beat Shannonside:ball:
Where are the years fixtures?did they forget to put them in or what the youths and u19 are in?? no Newcastlewest team at u19????
Not for teams with lads away. I know this was discussed before but im my opinion starting off with the League Cups will have to be looked at again. Its a good preseason for the lads who couldnt do one because of GAA and the pressure would be off teams with regards to starting their best teams on Friday nights. I wouldnt be suprised if each Premier League team were missing at least 1 player from their starting 11 next week because of the rush trying to get home
I Agree with you 100% Leon, if players are away and rushing to get home, then making these matches and not going in fully warmed up, increases their chances of getting injured. I'd have to go with Newcastle West to win the Premier, with Abbeyfeale Glin & Broadford behind, (hopefully the GAA wont affect these teams too much)!!
I think it will be Newcastle west to win premier and abbeyfeale utd to finish second..
I heard tonight that Newcastle were playing rathkeale b in a friendly tonight and was called off with just under 20 to go?? Anyone hear why?? Heard ncw were up 4-1 at the time

Newcastles game against rathkeale b was called off with 18mins to go the other night...the rathkeale management told the ref to blow it up and told their players to walk off the field because they didn't think that some decisions were not going their way..they got about 6 yellow cards on bad tackles and calling the ref names..but in fairness was childish..saying that I heard one or two of the rathkeale players saying that the ref was calling them names..it all ended when ncw got a free and the ref told the wall to get back 10yards but didn't tell the ncw player to wait for te whistle so ncw took it fast and scored from it..it all started so the management told their players to walk off and ref to blow it up
who was the ref in that game buddy? sounds petty and childish behaviour by ratkeale. They wont be able to do that when competitive season starts, we all know referees are poor in city an desmond lge but just get on with it, Did mike behan sign wit shannonside?
Refs can't get everything right in every game as everyone knows and didn't give us decisions that were ours but we got on with it.but seems they went by it the wrong way..if it was a league or cup game they would have seen red and not yellow..dunno if I can name the ref but look at glantine v st itas...a ref who won't take crap from anyone and is fair..

Saturday 3rd September sees Round 3 of the U-19 League Cup take place.
I wasn't giving out about it all..I was answering the question that someone asked why that ncw v rathkeale b was called off
I heard today that Daniel Power has DEFINITELY joined Shannonside. Gerry Cronin had left but is now back. This has to be very disruptive for Newcastle before the league kicks off. They are lucky however that its only Kildimo they are playing on Fri night so they should pick up 3 points without much bother
I dont think its true bout power but i would not underestimate kildimo, there meant to have signed 4 or 5 decent players, as for ncw manager, according to abbey boys he done that every 2nd or 3rd wk last year,it obviously works for him though goin by his record.
Newcastle west 7-1 adare utd pre season friendly played tonight
Any predictions for Friday night's five games lads?
How's this 'Aughinish Sports Complex' lookin does anyone know??
My predictions
Abbeyfeale Utd 3-1 Ballingarry
Rathkeale 5-1 Askeaton
Newcastle West 3-1 Kildimo Utd
Newcastle West Rovers 2-2 Glin Rovers
Shannonside FC 1-1 Broadford Utd
Abbeyfeale Utd v Ballingarry (draw)
Rathkeale v Askeaton (home)
Newcastle West v Kildimo Utd (home)
Newcastle West Rovers v Glin Rovers (home)
Shannonside FC v Broadford Utd(away)
The half 6 kick-off is going to be a pain for players that finish work around 6!!
Not much time for a warm-up.... and then game on a sunday to follow, I can see alot of teams picking up a few injuries over the next 2 weekends!
Fairly mad with the kick-off times alright...travel to match for away team & warm-up.
Won't be easy for Kildimo headin to NCW & Broadford goin to Barrigone
Abbeyfeale Utd 2 v Ballingarry 2
Rathkeale 2 v Askeaton 0
Newcastle West 3 v Kildimo Utd 1
Newcastle West Rovers 0 v Glin Rovers 2
Shannonside FC 2 v Broadford Utd 1
Ive heard Askeaton have there b team plus 4-5 of last years A team as there team in the premier, And that last years B team have lost players as it is!!! How is this? Can anybody explain? They will probably get relegated so without getting a win at that rate
Heres the results for ye:
Abbeyfeale Utd 1-1 Ballingarry
Rathkeale 3-0 Askeaton
Newcastle West 3-0 Kildimo Utd
Newcastle West Rovers 0-1 Glin Rovers
Shannonside FC 1-2 Broadford Utd
Newcastle West to be top from start to finish I'd say!
19's League
Glin Rovers 2 2 Broadford Utd
Is it true that Michael & Thomas Quilligan are playing with Rathkeale again this year? Because i heard they had rejoined Newcastle West only 2 weeks ago.
Kildimo have signed a few players from neighbouring teams I hear & some are handy enough,
but it will still be tough for them coming up again
...especially as the 'bottom half' teams are a bit stronger than previous seasons
Look at that the Limerick District League already have 4 games played and we havent even kicked a ball shame the GAA has a say in our league:(
