2017 UEFA Under-17 Championships

Six nil - still if Bosnia score we play England in the QF probably.

Seven - have nothing else positive to add this time.

Germany score a seventh. This is painful. Their players aren't even celebrating their goals anymore.

Wow, amazing. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

It stays one-nil to Bosnia! Praise whatever deity you believe in!

FT Bosnia 1-0 Serbia. Through to QF and 1 game away from World U-17 Championships.

Genius management. take a rest in the last game for all intents and purposes.

Clearly, our lads were so confident in Bosnia beating Serbia that they were saving themselves for the quarter-final against England and had absolutely no need to waste their energies trying in this game.

England are playing Netherlands at 15:00. They need a draw to top the group and secure a quarter final against us on Saturday. Time yet to be decided it seems.

From what I can see, no matter who qualifies for the QFs, Ireland have no chance of playing in the U17 World Cup Playoff for the 2 best QF losers.
Although we can of course qualify by winning our QF (writing off our chances already subconsciously)

Typical, we've no luck.

I see from Wikipedia that our kick off time on Saturday will be either 11:00 or 16:45.

We'll know our semi final opponents by then also, either Hungary or Turkey. :)

We shouldn't get too complacent as the final has "potential banana-skin" written all over it; it's looking like we'll be up against one of Germany, Spain, France or England/Holland.

Group C - the lady luck group.

B&H coach "We were unfortunate ..... luck was on Ireland's side."
Serbia coach "Luck was not on our side, we were in the next round until the last minute of the match."



A historic achievement for the doughty Faroe Islands to make it to these finals, they managed to score one goal, albeit an own goal.

There was an underage tournament a few years ago where we went out in similar circumstances - a goal scored in another game in injury time.
Can't remember which one, but I guess this is karma for it.
