Funny how that only applys to rovers fans but every time your beloved shams is being questioned the same inane replys are deemed ok.

If you have a problem with someone else's post, report it. I don't seem to recall any Rovers fans whose posts consisted purely of "Obsessed" like yours did. That's quite clearly against the rules you signed up to.
I think the question of why the official attendance was so at odds with what everyone thought was there is a very legitimate one, especially where the gate is split and where the claim has been made on the Ultras forum the Shamrock Rovers officials made an estimate of 2400 people there from clickers on the turnstiles.
Interesting talk on Shams forum about the ref not reporting something that he should have...getting away with things cos Doyle's a Shams fan, great.
In all fairness, there does seem to be a(fair enough) discrepancy between the "official" figures and the tally"s from Sligo fans(and others) on here:confused:
What do you want them to do, steal it?(cue tallaght jokes...)Quote:
Well bigger fools them if they left the ground without their full allocation.
You can tell the fai rep you're not happy etc etc but if he doesn't agree with you there's little else you can do on the night.
Heard the cash was counted and amounts split and agreed between the clubs and FAI , i think the lower attendance figure comes from cash / €15 admission , given there is a lot of concessions and a lot of €5 kids taking seats in main stand it wouldn't be too far off, Shams would not of left the ground unless they were happy wiht the allocation thnk this is just a smokescreen to try and deflect from the result , nodody sems to mention that shams are playing like Wimbledon at the moment route one all the way.
In a discussion about whether or not Sligo robbed Rovers of a few grand (and I don't know either way what happened), how could Rovers' style of football possible be relevant?
Dodge - I already took 20% off Sligo's figures when downgrading from fan guesstimates to programme figures. There was uproar. The programme was evil incarnate with a clear agenda, it seems.
Touché. Bringing a thread back on-topic? It'll never take on.
I dont recall anyone saying it was "evil incarnate with a clear agenda"?
I do recall fans saying it was clearly innacurate.
If you want somehwhat accurate guesstimates then ask for the general concensus from Rovers fans.
If you want a downsized innacurate figure for attendances then look at the match programme.
Why would the programme deliberately "downsize" your attendance figures?
If its one thing the Attendence thread (and its predecessors) has shown its that football fans ALWAYS vastly over estimate the crowd.
"Evil incarnate with a clear agenda" was clearly a jokey exaggeration on my part.
I'd never consider fans' estimates "somewhat accurate" and only use them as a last case when there's nothing more reliable available.
If you reckon the figures published by the club in the official match programme are well under what they really were, then you're back to Mr A's point above.
