one of the more stupid ideas i've heard in a while on this place, and lets be honest, this forum has alot of **** spinners. not only would this clean the barstoolers, it would clean the ordinary fan. if you are a true fan of your club, paying €100 shouldn't make you any more special than the next true supporter, because the latter can't pay the €100 to watch a meaningless match, when there are bills and no security of a job.Quote:

It's a pity you couldn't sell the tickets at say, Eur55 which includes the Real friendly and the next match? Or offer a discount for the next game if you buy a ticket for the friendly. Would be a good way of maybe getting a few more in the door and spreading the benefits of the game even further?
We don't need a new stadium, thanks, the Showgrounds has been the home of Sligo soccer since the 1880's, and we never felt the need to pimp it out and lose it for a couple of trophiesQuote:

Stoke City do something similar to this. Tickets for big games like Liverpool and the Arse go on sale as part of a package deal with a smaller game like Wigan or Fulham. You're not guaranteed your Man U ticket unless you buy a Fulham one as well. It really helps keep the attendances up for the smaller games.Quote:

Wasn't full from what I know. There were 5,500 seats in there and the crowd was about 3,000 or maybe 3,500 from what I was told. Family that were there told me there was plenty of empty seats. I was in America that summer but i remember people complaining that high ticket prices kept a few people away or gave them the excuse not to go. I was told that the 2004 League Cup final was as big a crowd as we had since the seats were put in and that was around 4,000 or a little over from memory.Quote:

I always thought this would be a good idea to get tickets for home internationals. €50 for a ticket when you produce 3 or 4 ticket stubs from home games at Tallaght, stamped inside the ground to make sure you went. Maybe even a little more of a discount for more games. Means the regular fan gets something out of it, barstoolers get to pay a premium of €100 :)Quote:

the biggest attendance we ever got was the fai cup match against pats in 2001 when we had a gate of 5,500. this was before the seats were ever put in. How I know this is that I happened to read a match report in the local library today of that game in the longford news that year and both local newspapers gave this figure.Quote:
