That’s proven pretty much to be the case although his finishing is worse than expected. He works hard, makes lots of intelligent runs and turns hopeful passes into good passes but when that pace takes him into good goalscoring positions – he’s just not top class.
The transfer doesn’t delight me – I’d be happy enough if he stayed. But I think the chance to almost double our investment on a player who hasn’t delivered quite what we’d hoped is too good a chance to turn away.
