so i see!!! shocked!
Look at your post count scary :D
On the match i dont know i havent watched any liverpool match this year so i dont know how good or bad they are playing , While Everton started brilliantly had a really bad patch im no tsure if they are over that yet they beat sheff wens and boro but looked quite poor in both and then lost to newcastle .
i expect it to line up like this
Howard
Hibbert yobo lescott Baines
Artetta Jags Neville ( GGRRRR) Pienarr
Faddy Yak ( or maybe Vic i think he deserves the start )
Liverpool have been really awful since Agger and Alonso got injured, no cutting edge without Alonso and the defending far too deep without Agger.
I wouldn't be one bit surprised, take any Liverpool match since the 6-0 over Derby and they have been eyebleeding experiences

Speaking of Arteta
There have been a few stories coming out over the weekend linking him with chelsea, madrid and the likes. We have to fight have to keep him at Everton. This is a chance to show that we have serious ambitions of breaking into the top 4.
If he does go, given that he signed a 5 year deal in the summer, we should be putting a price tag of 20m on him, 15m at the minimum but to be honest, I wouldn't consider selling him at any price because he is our best player by some distance.
He will leave i just hope its later rather than sooner as you say our best player by a mile i think he is gettign very ****ed off at everton ive seen him in the last few games giving out (which he normally doesnt do) to neville and the likes for lumping balls up the pitch. Its stupid as it takes our best player out of the game .
We can put a 20 mill price tag on him but we wont get it he is worth it but if he asks to leave there isnt much we can do. Im not surprised lazy journalists have been writting this story for the last 3 years,
Just like Gravesen he will leave if he gets the call. Not saying anything bad about that but its the way things go.
Am not looking forward to the game on sat. Derby was a watershed for us. By that I mean we started to play worse and worse as each game has passed ever since. Hopefully the international break will set things right.
Happens every club its very hard to keep players when the big boys come knocking but like Grav i dont think he is good enough yet i love the guy but im sure Fabergas would be on there list ahead of him. I think if he did go he would find himself in and out of the team and floating around in a year or two again.
It seems we all have bad feelings about this derby its not going to be pretty anyway thats for sure :D
Im confussed what point are you making are you saying that Artetta would be ahead of Fabregas on Reals shopping list ?? Fabregas is a far better long term option when you consider the players age and skill levels .
Wouldnt think so about Tommy G ive allways felt that he was average enough for 4 years then played well for 4 months and left in jan. i suppose if you look back you could find something or other.
Maybe something like this about Gerrard
Just pointing out your inconsistencies anto, you'd do the same ;) You call Arteta genius in one breath and then say he isn't good enough yet for the top drawer in another.
Oh right, you should have put "at Everton only" after it then. Anyway, lets not get into a lather over over it. I'm only half teasing you, i'm sure when I slip up you'll be ready to pounce and return the favour. :)
Cahill is back :D Should play some part in the derby considering how bad we have been in central midfield this season but it still might be just too soon.
Tommy G is ok again after having fluid drained from his knee but wont be ready for sat .
Vaughan should be back to full training next week and AJ' op went well and he should be back in 2 weeks .
Its been a slog but the injury crisis might be nearing an end :D
These 4 players could turn our season around ........but unfortunately i don't see any of them playing a significant part tomorrow. I'd love cahill to play but after 3 serious injuries in the space of a year, we have to be careful. As much as I'd love to see him playing tomorrow and getting his usual derby goal, it's more important to have him for the rest of the season. Could maybe play the last 20 minutes or so.
It's going to be very interesting to see what team moyes picks tomorrow. Long midweek trips for lescott, mcfadden and neville means that i think all 3 are unlikely to start and it could be lescott that misses out given that we have the best cover for him. I actually think he hasn't played as well this season as he did last year, he has played well but has cost us goals with lapses in concentration like at spurs and Newcastle. Midfield is again going to be a problem but I think he'll go with Carsley and Neville. Hopefully Cars can do his usual derby day marking job on Gerrard if he plays. Up front, with them having to play Hyppia, it's a real pity we don't have the pace of AJ. Big Vic has done his best work when coming off the bench this year so I'd leave him there for the first hour at least. Yakubu has been utter utter crap for us but you have to hope, he sees this game as his chance to make his mark at Goodison. So I think we'll line up somehting like
Howard
Hibbert Yobo Stubbs Baines
Pienaar Cars Neville Arteta
Yakubu McFadden
Subs:
Wessells
Anichebe
Cahill
Jagielka/ Gravesen
Lescott
I'd really love Arteta to leave his mark on a derby but if we are to have a match winner, it could be McFadden if his trip to Georgia hasn't taken too much out of him.
At least Carsley will be fresh he hasnt played in ages but along side neville they offer us nothing going foward Neville being the only player with a negative goal difference !!( 2 own goals 1 goal scored ). Think we need lescott on the pitch over stubbs ,Baines i think has to start Hibbert being the only person on the pitch from the city should be up for it.
Its time for Yakubu to pull up his socks and get moving but we need to get the ball in front of him no point giving him the ball with his back to goal he isnt quick enough to turn and do anything with it .
HAve a bad feeling about this one though
Liverpool were fortunate to get the win today considering the late call for a penalty by Everton today...and i can't understand why rafa took steve g off at a crucial part of the game..but deserved the win...
Liverpool got very, very lucky today. The first penalty could have gone either way. Everton had two legitimate penalty claims especially at the end when Carragher clearly pulled down Lescott. The most blatent non-call I've seen in a long time.
Was working earlier and only seen highlights on MOTD and must admit we were fortunate to get a result..it looked as though stevie g did get ref to change cards from yellow to red for 1st sending off..thought kuyt even deserved red for that lunge he done..fair play to him on the pressure pen though..was good save by neville that time too.
We were lucky?? We scored all 3 goals, ffs.
Ref was right with the 2 pen decisions, 2 red cards, (handball and a pro foul) only booking Kuyt, and not giving the Toffees their penalty claim. They seem to forget that there's no guarantee they'd score it, especially with Reina in goal, who saved his last penalty in the league.:D
how can u compare everton to Liverpool...a European cup win, f.a. cup win and European final again last year. get a grip everton are no closer to Liverpool than cork city for f..k sake
I think you'll find Everton are considerably closer to Liverpool than Cork City!

Everton can feel aggrieved by some of Clattenburgs decisions, no doubt at all about Carragher pulling Lescott down although IMO Kuyt's was correct as I honestly felt it was over enthusiam on his part. There was no malice in it and although his studs were off the ground, they were not aimed at Neville. It was more his shins that would have collided with him.
Missed the game due to my own but going on the highlights I didn't feel Everton threatened too much. A "lucky" win maybe in the sense that a penalty should have been given at the end but overall I felt Liverpool controlled the tempo.
1. when it was 11 v 11, everton were the better side without actually playing that well and in lescott, they had the best player on the pitch by some distance. Liverpool only came into the match and "controlled the tempo of the game" when everton lost a man although how you tell who controlled the tempo of the game from the highlights is surprising.
2. That Kuyt tackle is just not defendable. Whether or not, he made contact or was showing malice is not the point. How can a player, lunge at another from 4-5 yards away, waist high and not get a red card is beyond me. If Neville had stayed on the ground, he would have been snapped in two, would you have thought it should have been a red then?
3. It wasn't bad refereeing, it was biased refereeing, there is a difference. What was gerrard shaking the refs hand for when he was taken off? Carragher had his arms around him at one stage when he should have been getting a yellow for dissent. Clattenburg should have just stopped the charade and given a whistle each to gerrard and carragher and just be done with it.
4. Liverpool's manager is an utter utter classless c*** of the highest order. To even suggest that lescott dived is up there with Houllier saying that fowler was chewing grass. The worst thing about losing is that we let him off the hook from the abuse he would have got.
And do you know if they would have scored it as well?? Amazing the amount of people who automatically think penalty = goal. Carra was defiant in his after-match interview that it wasn't a pen, so I take his word. It's not like he handled the ball on the line, like other players. :rolleyes:Quote:

Then Hibbert f****ed up big time made a mess of it in midfield letting Gerrard through for a very soft penalty but hibbert shouldnt have let him in there in the first place , he went down easy instead of shooting but i cant say AJ would have done any different if it was him through, But what got me then was the ref was booking hibbert untill Gerrard had a word and it magically turned into a red card .Shamefull .
By the rules he had to go being last man and all but by the rules Kuyts had to go too for doing a two footed lunge which is also a straight red if neville hadnt jumped he could have broken his leg.
I didnt feel the first tackle on lescott was a peno but since he gave an even softer one to liverpool he should have given it .but the one in the last second was beyond the joke Lescott was dragged to the ground .
I felt a draw would have been fair but i was amazed at rafa coming out after the game and accusing lescott of diving . That man really is pathetic
still have to move on 4 games in 11 days now at least the red cards will force moyes to play the team the fans have wanted for the next 3 games jags at right back and no neville near the pitch
I'm well aware that it might not have been a goal and don't need your silly smilies to emphasise the point.
Also, "Carra was defiant"? I assume you mean adament but I'm a Liverpool supporter and I don't need to listen to what Carra says to form my own opinion. Most people would say it was a penalty IMO. Also as a defender myself, you are asking for trouble wrapping your ams around a player in the box. Carragher is hardly going going to say "yeah, definate penalty" is he??
So what if Neville handled the ball??? He got his punishment for it so is there any relevance to it.
Thought all the decisions by the ref were correct apart from evertons last second penalty claim. Should have been a penalty.
Carra got away with it, I suppose the saying that decisions even themselves out over a season is true after the chelsea penalty decision at Anfield and who better than the blue noses to even that out against eh :D

:rolleyes::rolleyes: SMAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL CLLLLLLLLUBBBBBBBBBBBB
It wasn't so long ago that Liverpool were using a petition to get into the champs league!!!
And you must have missed Benitez demanding an apology from Rob Styles are the chelsea after a referee dared give a decision against them.
But then, liverpool fans always did have short memories.
Erm, I presume you are talking about 2005 when we won the European cup for the 5th time (you get to keep it when you win it 5 times, just in case you didnt know that). As WINNERS of the tournament it would have been crazy not having us in the tournament. UEFA wanted us in so any petition was secondary.
I must have and Benitez or those linked with LFC never called for Styles to be banned for LIFE!
We win an awful lot of tournaments and trying to keep in all that info coupled with the effects of many many hard nights of celebrating is just too much. We lose track of facts and figures now and again.
