so wot was the starting celtic team last nite with all these outsiders gone???
It is a long season and those comments will hopefully come back to haunt you for your ignorance.
Dessie is a great player who doesn`t have to prove himself to you lot,
but he will have the last laugh.
These comments prove your club has no class yet again, with your
drivel spouted on here.
when will ye ever get off that jealousy streak?????ye tried to follow us with some fella from galway, i forget his name because no one cared bout him because he was a nobody and ye were tryin to follow in our footsteps. do ye ever hear anyone sayin his name????? i can guarantee ye dykesie loves it with ye goin on bout him so much, it shows how big he is!!!! i didn't see any westport manager bringing a team into the semi final of the eircom u-21 league should have been the final only for a missed penalty!!! wow ye won a junior cup in the court house, what have ye done since in the fai?????? if i'm right celtic have gone further since, stop livin in the past, this is now and have a serious look at yerselves now!!!!!
Newcomer to this site, but have been reading comments for a few months now. Im a cbar celtic man, and there seems to be very bad blood between both westport and celtic fans on this site, sometimes it goes a bit over the top, no harm in a bit of friendly banter but ye shud take it a wee bit easier.
Was at the game lastnite, good standard of football on show in tough conditions. Cannot be argued that celtic were well worth their win, looked as though they wanted it a little bit more and took their chances. Celtic looked solid throughout, even in the 2nd half when westport took the game to them, they defended resolutely and attacked with purpose on the break. Sending off was a moment of madness in an otherwise sporting game.
As regards the league, i expect the snugboro title challenge to fade away slightly after recent results, and celtic and wport to go head to head for the top spot with the two teams having to play eachother twice yet....but whos knows:)
:D:D

You'd wonder how a rumour like that even starts?
Anyway.....
Westport impressed me last week without playing that well. They are well used to playing big games. Snugboro are missing something at the moment. I don't think some players appreciate the opportunity they have. Compared to last year the improvement has been 10 out of 10. Management couldn't of asked any more of them. Last week was a slip up but thats all it was. I predict a great performance on Sunday but Bangor have been one of the better sides we've played this year so I'd say a tight victory is on the cards. Its up to the players to find the drive and impetus to get some silverware this season.
Welcome to the forum Pavillion Road. Some of the Westport-Celtic stuff on here is laughable but its to be expected. Its the same in the dressing rooms from U-10 to Senior Level, always trying to get one over each other. I find its best to just let the children play.
Well said.
Three five two, you forget that Dessie has been top scorer in the super league in the past and has won player of the year awards.
The game was a tale of two dodgy keepers, and you shouldnt have got the penalty.
You are right your team is weak, we had the majority of the posession but conceded crazy goals at our end, you will drop points.
His scoring record speaks for itself and as for crawling out of Sean Reillys pocket (He was carrying a bad injury), I think if you asked Sean Reilly whose the player he hates playing against most he would say Dessie...good players tend to respect good players!
Take your head out of your ar*e battie boy... :D
You are a very excitable young man threefivetwo.
I simply gave my opinion on Mr G.D's reign at Celtic and wished them well with their new appointment.
I stand over that opinion.
I also felt it only fair to point out that you called for a little bit of respect for players in one post, then proceeded to completly contradict your by calling D'O'M a woman in your next post.
Your posts are nothing more then embarrasing rants that reflect badly on yourself and your club.
But sure they are keepin alot of us entertained, so keep up the good work.
I'm not sure if it's relevant, but Westport most certainly are not my club!
I know i'm only new, but have been reading over a few comments regarding celtic westport matches and from a westport perspective there always seems to be excuses! For example, penalties yee should have been given and penalties that shouldnt have been given against yee (thunder:confused:)! Then Leveller you claim that the standard of football is terrible, and celtic hoof the ball etc....also you claimed after the 2-0 chadwicks cup game that it was two poor sides on show and yee were missin loads of players!! Fair enough, but then yee lose 3-2 in the westaro cup with most those players back in the team and you go and put the result down to 2 poor goalkeepers!! When is it gonna be that celtic were better than yee?? Westport united havent beaten celtic since october 2006 in aib cup, almost 2 (TWO) years and 5 games later and celtic still seem to have the upper hand in one off games against the 'port. It cant always be referees fault, bad goalkeeping etc that settles these games....???
Still in the next couple of weeks yee have the chance to put yeer recent problems with celtic right with the sides playin twice in the league....but win or lose please accept the result instead of lookin for silly excuses!!!
Rant over...i was bored;)
Well said Pavillion Road
If Mr. Ryan is remorseful about the "tackle" on Thursday night, then he ought to pick up the phone and contact Chris Ryder and personally apologise to him. Mr. Ryder suffered ligament injuries from it and ended up on crutches. Stevie Ryan is a good footballer but he is his own worst enemy; he is just as much as a liability as an asset.
Our U.14s drew 1-1 in an absorbing game of football. Westport deserved at least a draw if not the win.
B team is under no pressure tomorrow night against Celtic and will be up for it.
Now comes the six pointer games for the Galacticos. Must get at least four points off Celtic to keep the challenge for the league. Will be very disappointing not to win a trophy for the first time since 2001.
