Ive seen the Glen a few times now and unfortunately we were on the receiving end of a thumping by their second string up at the glen. There are those of us who go to watch football matches because we love football. We like to watch good players and dont get me wrong there a few players in the glen camp that are worth watching for sure. There are those who tog out and watch the glen from the sidelines that are only interested in seeing what the rest of us dont want to see in Football. You call it banter and crack, referees and the opposition call it intimidation and bullying. I think your benchmark for what is good behaviour is so low you actually think your behaviour is reasonable and welcome on a football pitch. You think drinking on the sidelines is ok??? You think the hard man stuff, the threats, the abuse and the serious of the ball stuff is part of football??? Like I said there's no doubting the talent at the club and its clearly there for all to see even in your second string and you deliver football without fail week in week out but the dose of crap that comes with that talent is enough to put you of going to watch them and ultimately fear for the safety of your players. You have serious problems at the club and mark my words unless someone sorts it out either a drunk maniac on the line or a half cut idiot on the pitch is going to do something very very stupid and there will be no way back for you as a club. In terms of water of a ducks back I hear blacky o connor is looking for his coat back.....Quack quack

When we used to play up in Leeds park or Nufarm when we were small you always knew there was going to be words from the line. It affects some, but the big players rise above that. Used always love the battles personally + if I was due to play the glen tomorrow I would be buzzing. That's what you want. A battle in their backyard.
Fair point Donnie. I just think it needs to be tempered a bit with some clubs. Some clubs lack the class and ability so can only battle on the day. Some clubs have class in abundance and don't need to reduce it to a battle every time Clubs with strong management reign this stuff in but unfortuntely there are clubs who dont feel like they need to do anything about it. Take for example you have a big crowd and the game is competitive ball is put over the top and full back and winger go for 50/50 when the challenge lands heavy and hard everyone on the line lets out a big roar and appreciates it more yet if we have a player who plucks ball out of the air takes it down shows skill and then produces a great pass the same applaud or cheer doesn't go up as the leg breaker. Our priortys are somewhat messed up here in this country with more an emphasis on the physical and not enough on the skill.
Toto well said!
Brilliant toto
This thread is on it's final warning. Any further personal abuse, trolling or off-topic nonsense will result in closure of the thread, and a permanent ban on Cork AUL discussion on Foot.ie. Discussing this post is off-topic.
Again: Permanent.
With the greatest of respect, bud, the days of talking to people like that are long gone. No room for Little hitlers in this world anymore!
99% of the posters/readers on this site dont want the name calling/tittle tattle either, so deal with those people. Dont tar us all with the same brush.
I asked your colleague some weeks back to explain how the Intermediate Leagues are judged to a different standard. He didnt offer the courtesy of an answer. I hope you will. Some of the posts on that site are libellous at least but their forum name has never changed. Should be same rules for everyone

Foot.ie isn't a democracy, it's a benevolent dictatorship. If you don't like the rules, if you don't like the way the moderators and I run it, you don't have to be here. Hit Log Out and don't come back.
This is my last post on the subject. Next person gets 3 months, no discussion.
Carrig v De Courcey, last Sunday morning. Id like to state that the referee had a great game. Spoke to us all before KO and left us all know how he was going to ref the game. Think we all knew where we stood and it turned out to be probably the quietest games he has ever refereed !!!! Match itself could have went either way bud luckily for us we won 2-1. They had a guy up front who was probably one of the quickest players i have ever seen and got a peach of a goal.
2 months is a bit harsh for asking a question. But it's your ball, your rules!
I think it's time for everybody hiding behind Avatars and trying to get a rise out of each other to leave. I haven't been on here in awhile because of a new baby arriving but i've being watching and couldn't be bothered posting because a sensible comment will get lost in the muck!!!
have to agree 100% with you dixie this is suppose to be a fourm for people to give information about club issues and results of games played.as well as light hearted banter but the last couple of weeks it has got out of hand everyone is entilted to talk up his club thats why we get involved in football.it seems a few indivduals have used this forum for totally the wrong reason all together but i think horse is not one of them.we go on about how we should support the aul team and then we go on and slate each others clubs lets get back to football talk and if you have nothing to say on that matter say nothing
