Dublin pitches suffered as a result of those flood a while back. I know ours was soggy up until a couple of weeks ago. Not bad now
Dalymount was poor yesterday. Seemed dry and bumpy. I believe Bohs train on it too. Lest I be accused of sour grapes, the pitch didn't effect the result

Turners Cross won pitch of the year last year and while its not at the same standard it was in the middle and end of last season its in great condition, should improve over the summer with good weather and fewer games.
We've been to UCD - shocking shocking surface - and Derry - not much better - though thats more than just the surface - there is apparently (according to brendyeire) a 2m difference between the level of the two corner flags down the home end (severe dip on the stand side) and you are playing up hill as you approach the other end
Ours is still flat as you like, but apparently rubbish!:confused:
Ours is very bumpy. In pretty good nick considering how bad it was just a few weeks ago but still very bumpy.
Yes, it stays that way until the rugby season ends. Our results usually make a sharp uptick around then too for some reason.Quote:

Just heard on the news that a new €30 million grant scheme has been made available to sports-clubs countrywide.
Its getting better (from being in very bad condition). The good weather will help the grass to grow, so I'd predict that it will be much improved by the Drogheda game. Dodge makes a good point about the floods, the middle of Monaghan was underwater at the end of last season, by which time it was already in a bad state, and there hasn't been any growth until now for the pitch to recover.Quote:

Calling it slightly confusing is an understatement! Some of it makes no sense! I'd personally prefer they put the money towards building a better stadium out by Templemore. The local area can become gridlocked on normal match nights so bigger crowds in an already heavily built up residential area could be disastrous. Still, great news that the moneys there for improvements!

Seems very late to be putting in the planning application. Also- what is a seated terrace in this context? Is it going to be convertible like safe terracing in Germany?
Seems like a similar job to what Pats did at the Inchicore end a few years back for their Euro games.

Wasn't one of the main problems last year with Sligo's floodlights? Thye had to play 5 or 6 because they weren't strong enough. Have they been upgraded?

Ya adam thats what happened against Poltava last season. The lights on the Jinks Ave side go back to a time when Sky paid for LOI floodlights. These lights are mostly redundant now and apparently the bulbs aren't made for them anymore and are hard to come by. Did Pats have a similar problem recently?
