There could be an element of that alright, but I think it'd have been a stretch to describe it as an awful campaign anyway. Unless you mean the NL campaign!

Fair enough. He described that campaign as "unsuccessful". Might be a coat of gloss there alright. :D
Yes, will be interesting to see how they get on but the Championship is a tough league and much more interesting than the EPL with a relatively even playing field and any one of 15 teams (Wednesday are 16th) capable of challenging for promotion. I would be surprised if they do better than their predecessor but hey, it's a funny old game. They might have been better off going for the recently left by mutual consent ex Huddersfield manager.
Done for O'Neill but not dusted for Keane as yet https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2019...-me-at-forest/ Somehow I doubt if Keane enjoys putting out the cones for Mayor-tin. Must have ambition to get back in to management. If Rogers goes to Leicester would Celtic give him a try ?
Cracking result last night for Forest. MO’N has bought wisely and the City is bouncing again. Promotion charge is definitely on now. They’ve been robbed by bad ref calls in the last few matches but look very impressive at home.
MO’N looks really happy at the minute. Definitely a bounce in his step.
Can't see them making the playoffs but that win will keep him in the good books for a while.
No surprise to see Big Daryl getting his game under MONKE.
Big Daryl could get his game under Big Mick too!
I was thinking the same, but with Bristol City losing on Tuesday it is not totally out of the question, indeed if Forest win again
and Bristol City lose again and the two other teams above them fail to win their next match they would actually be in the
playoffs!!!
Still a tall order though, especially knowing Forest every time they seems to make a bit of progress they tend to fall back again!
Might be different under the new management though, we'll have to wait and see!
so tough to make the play off and then it will be tough to get through them, the book makers make them a 25-1 shot, must have
been about 50-1 before Bristol City lost!
Sheffield Wednesday are only a further three points back but I wouldn't give them a snow ball's chance in hell of getting through to the play offs so what does that make Forest's chance ? A large snowman's chance ?
Actually Forest would have been more than 50-1 cos Bristol City were away from home to a team above them in the league, but probably a 1 in 3 chance of winning so they would be 75-1 or 80-1. Which is probably what Sheffield Wed are.
Actually Shef Wed are about 150-1.
All the odds are for promotion, I mistaken put to reach the play offs.
Sheffield Wed have a bad goal difference that is why they are longer than 80-1 they are -7 goals whereas forest are +9 so they would need an extra point to pass Bristol City really.
Tricky, knock off the gambling talk
It is nothing to do with gambling, it is just trying to assign a figure to their chance of promotion to quantify it. If for example I said "Ireland have a good chance of qualifying", you could say that was gambling talk, only difference is I am quantifying "good".
By the way there are adverts for cosmetic breast surgery on the site, something that could kill you. Not sure why they advertise here lol, but if I see any adverts for gambling sites I will let you know!
Ads are based on your browser history. So what exactly have you been browsing?
50p says Mrs Tricky is planning a surprise for him.
She's getting a penis enlargement? Or have I just misread the thread?
Actually I was using a brand new tablet I bought when I made that post so I didn't have any browser history at all, I notice the current adverts (on my PC) here are for a local building society indeed the Nottingham building society, which does seem appropriate given we were discussing Nottingham Forest, hence it seems they maybe based on what I post also?
There is also an advert for a file converter, perhaps appropriate given I am a bit techy, but I've no need for a file converter, or maybe I do but don't realise it!
So I am no sure what it is based on, I literally only started using the tablet a day or so ago. I just had a look at the history and I had clicked on a story about some woman who died after heart surgery, maybe that had something to do with it.
The tablet is a

Anyhow Forest lost and Bristol City drew, don't think I am allowed to say how that has affected their chance so I won't, but the gap has gone from 3 points to 4 points and they only have 11 games left not 12, so probably not too much, certainly an opportunity missed, they could have closed the gap to one point, I can't see them going anywhere this season they don't seem to have improved at all.
The teams close to them Derby and Birmingham also lost so I guess their chance has not changed as much as you would expect, but they can't really afford too many results like that is anyway if they are to have a chance. They are very much in the last chance saloon. Granted they may be flat on their backs but they are still in there. ;)
By the way I am being offered the chance to.
Entry is free so not really gambling I guess, but " The winner(s) will be required to participate in post promotion publicity"... hmmm... :)Quote:
WIN A BRAND NEW HOLIDAY HOME!
Worth up to £40,000!
Also this sounds rather disconcerting "Pitch fees are included for the current season along with water and rates bills."
Well a good day for Forest, winning 3-0 v Hull, other results went their way.
Bristol City and Middlesbrough lost Derby drew.
Still a fair bit to do though, Bristol City have a game in hand, so they can't afford to drop too many point
if they are to even make the play offs.
Home again to Villa next, then away to bottom of the table Ipswich.
I'd say they need to win both, knowing Forest they will lose both! :D
4 West Brom .....36 20 61
5 Middlesbrough 35 13 58
6 Derby............ 36 2 . 55
-----------------------------
7 Bristol City...... 35 7.. 54
8 Nottm Forest... 36 10 53
Bristol drew so just 2 points off a play off place, a win and anything other than a win for their two rivals would put them in a playoff spot.
So very doable. Then a playoff win puts them in the top flight!!
Well Forest lost so back to square one, so 3-5 points to make up depending on how their game in hand goes.
It always seem to be just out of their grasp, but with 9 games to go it's still a possibility.
Given if he was available when Rodgers fled for the EPL lure, would MON have considered or been seriously considered for the Celtic job?
Somehow I suspect he wouldn't have been considered or welcomed by the fans even though he's held in very high regard by both.
Well a draw away to bottom of the table club Ipswich, another opportunity missed.
How much longer will the hoofball circus last at Nottingham Forest? The Forest fans must be at the end of their tether.
Will go like their other campaign, instant impact but will long term be more and more painful to watch.
Keane has left Forest - https://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/n...keane-departs/
O'Neill gone now too. Sacked it appears - https://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/n...lub-statement/
I wonder will the Two Amigos enlighten us ?
For sure. Nottingham Post speculating further - https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport...eaking-3030966

Forest are understood to have taken action following suggestions his relationship with senior players had deteriorated.
Edit: Forest not hanging around - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48800839
Does this suggest that Forest tried to ease both O’Neill and Keane out but O’Neill dug the heels in and forced them to sack him? Presumably he wanted a payday
Sabri Lamouchi was one of my favourite all-time players for Parma, even though he was probably past his peak when signed despite being relatively unknown this side of the world I reckon. He was a really really smooth player, and if he coaches like he played, then Forest are going to see some very fluid football.
