 Anybody know who won last night's Old Mill v Killeaney match ?
Think the Killeaney and Old Mill match was canceled. Don't know why.
Killeaney were away to St Itas and this match was called off due to a bereavenment in the Itas camp
thanks Western Gale... I got the fixtures backwards.....isn't it amazing that it keeps happening to Killeaney? Those lads will be knackered by the time they get their league finished.
Desmond Cup Semi Final
Athea Utd 2 Newcastle West 1
Darren Murphy put Athea ahead after ten minutes with John Cotter getting a second before half time. Newcastle got one back in the second half with an own goal but Athea held on despite coming under strong pressure from the premier division side. Athea are now into their first ever Desmond Cup final and on the first Friday in June the division one side will meet either Glin Rovers or Rathkeale
Thats correct, Athea were without three players that would definately have started and all three will hardly play again this season with injuries
Division 1
Killeaney 0 Old Mill 0
Division 2
Kilcornan 1 Rockhill Rovers 1
Congratulations to Athea. Ballingarry B 0 Breska Rovers 4,which meant that Ballingarry were relegated. Anybody know how Pallaskenry v Knockaderry went?

Will last nights result upset NCW?
They are away to Broadford tomorow...could be tricky...
My god the pitch looks fantastic well done to Joe Mcgrath and who ever else is involved....the surface looks great probably the best I have seen it in years and some very straight lines too my I add.....
Thanks again Harry Lime quality;)
I was at the Semi Final between Rathkeale Glin tonight and couldnt help thinking a few things....the Desmond League could have added a little pagentry to the whole occasion, making a "sense of occasion" which clearly was missing from an otherwise entertaining game in superb facilities.
The officials could have led out the two teams, instead they came out all seperately, barely noticeable. Why isint there a sheet of paper for the people when they pay at the gate with the teams, numbered players and a few small details?
There could be a loudspeaker telling people about substitutions, injury time minutes etc,and music at half time....they could have a "SIOPA BEAG" set up beside the dressingrooms for a bit of extra revenue,a few things for the kids and tea & coffee for the adults....
All these small things would surely add to the sense of occasion and improve attendences?
Desmond League have come a long way, and continue to go in the right direction on and off the field, well done, keep going, push on & thank you.
