The more in the cabinet the more successful the club will look, but i know what your saying for such a big club 1b isnt the biggest of honours, all where park 1st team want to do is get back into the premier, where they belong.:ball:

brutus ,, they were a big club ... which i hope they can go back up to preimer league and along the way they should be delighted to win any silverware they can on there way back to preimer league but it could be a long hard painfull slog to get there.. :D

but they dont belong in the prem league........not now nor after a painfull slog. Do any of you lot have any thing to say bout any other teams in this league which is by far over or by far a two horse race. like the fact knockgainy have alot of gaa players back for sunday and out on thier cow patch will make it hard for park sunday
They have been a premier side for years, club fell apart for a season or 2,and there back on there feet with a new manager and a whole new squad,we musnt be doin too bad with 5 out of 5 wins so far,i know its still early days but good start for a club desperate for promotion, for me i have nothing to say about any other teams because dont know any them and for knockainey they might be getting a few gaa players back, but there not called gaa players for no reason and the league table doesnt tell lies.;)

Its a lovely place been up there many a time and if by some chance we have to go back for what ever reason then so be it, we will try to impress wherever we go.An open question for any interested parties, what constitutes a big club. is it premier status, is it numbers, is it facilities.Personally i believe its about your entire setup schoolboys etc. the standard of coaching you provide, and the facilities, no matter what divisions your teams are playing in, and your overall approach to the development of our game.

what constitutes a big club. is it premier status
League titles and European Cups Id say (18/5)......:D

some good points alright... but a big club should be in the preimer
winning or challanging every year for league title also looking at winning fai junior cup.. if your entire setup schoolboys / coaching / facilites is correct you should be producing good young players to stay with your club for years and have you challenging for major honours and winning them then you can be classed as a big club and not having a dig at park here you cant be classed as a big club in division 1 b no matter how good your schoolboys / facilites / coaching are .. :ball:

Certainly league titles in the premier league, as for the FAI. not from Shannon anyway i believe there has been very little improvement in the standard of football in the town over the years and we are way off challenging for that title and thats down to the lack of proper and conserted effort to develope schoolboy football at the same level we do Junior football. On the premier title if Olympic for instance won the premier league in Clare would that make them a big club. The Bridge won it two years back, were they a big club then but not one now because they were relegated the following year, hope ye understand what im'e saying here and i mean no offence to either of the two teams mentioned above.
Sorry that didn't make any sense to me.
I presume this is what you meant to say.
"Ya(as in I am a player with Newtown) don't I talk to you at their matches when you are togged out as a sub on the B team"
Riverside might correct me on this but I don't think Park FC have a B team.

as per my reply the set up has to be good underage / facalities / coaching and players will come through ... league titles would need to won or challenged for on a regular basis... not 1 team in shannon or clare are good enough to win a fai at the moment .
a team winning premier league title does not make them a big club unless they can continue to progress and keeping winning it on a fairly regular basis .. :ball:
Two results on the radio at lunchtime:
Prospect 1 - 0 Croom
Holycross 1 - 3 Fairview
Park beaten by knockainey 3-0,park were shocking,2 good goals by tall striker up front for them, park need to bounce back after a good start to season but yesterday they were lost out there, terrible performance.
Yes i played, team was tierny, woodzy, quirky, ryhno, neville, farrell, phil shanagher, macky, eddie dunne, butler, murphy, couldnt say one of us played well, terrible performance,bj,egais and mckeogh on the bench,no excuse for bj being dropped and i think there making a right example of egais for the last few weeks,he hasnt got a look in because he missed a match, there 2nd bottom, werent great at all but we were shocking,
Results should mean the three teams stand as follows:
Croom 7 5 1 1 16
Park 6 5 0 1 15
Coonagh 7 3 2 2 11
If anyone from other clubs know their totals please post it as who knows when the LDMC website will be updated. Or if anyone has last wednesdays limerick leader the table was on it I believe.
Being honest i wouldnt say that now about not liken the lads, everyone gets on with the management, like i said egais missed a game thats why he is in the bad books last few weeks, mark didnt get a game and just because he didnt thats no reason to be leaving the team,he should just stay and fight for his place it makes the squad alot stronger when you have good players on the bench aswel,
Your absolutely right brutus but he has a history of walking away. He spits the dummy out of the pram. You need a good squad but surely when things were going bad yesterday Bj egis and mc keogh should have came on. At least the league is wide open now. Croom and Park both losing. Coonagh had a cup match I believe.
Yeah Coonagh lost to Summerville in the Lawson 2-1.
St.Pats beat Abbey 6-2 I believe also.
Ya wide open again, the main factor is to bounce back from this defeat and get on a good run again, easier said than done doh,we have the squad there to get promoted and fitness is there due to some good, tough training sessions with webby, even doh the man is nearly fiiter than all the players,no but we are still comfortable with a game in hand and a point behind as you can see and i do agree especially bj and egais coming on yesterday, attacking players just werent shown yesterday maybe if they came on a bit earlier in the game, who knows?:ball:
is mc keogh training regulary if so manager should be giving him a reason why he is not getting a game .. seen bj a couple of weeks ago and he had a great game .. !! if egis missed game and did not let management know they were correct in not playing him.. its still early days in league and a long way to go yet .. :ball:
yes mark is training regulary, like everyone,bj has been playing good stuff, dont know why he wasnt startn yesterday, for egais he deserves what he gets but theres only certain amount of time a player can get punished and if you ask me we need him in the team, never misses training and working hard to get back in,long way to go alright,if you ask me all the lads just want to get promoted, silverware is just abonus.
we were as poor as you can get yesterday. Not one player could put his hand up and say they played well. The team changes as Dermot sees it, and i think he will again make some necessary changes for the next game, which is against Wembley in the MJC. Without making excuses we have to be able to adapt to the different size pitches the slopes and the styles of the opposition we are playing against, and as you look at the results that have been thrown up there are huge inconsistencies, yesterday was a jolt we have to learn that outside of Shannon we have to adapt because there are plenty more Knockainys out there.
