I'll have to get it another way so;)
Whats people views on The Sheild, have been considering getting it. How does it compare to The Wire?
JUst finishing the box set of Season 4 of the Wire. I think it is the best season so far. Have Season 5 lined up ready and waiting.
I was thinking of getting The Corner on DVD next. Has anyone seen it and what did they think of it.
Finished season 3 of Battlestar Galacitia last night. Another great season, season 4 is on its way to me along with Season 1 of The Sheild. Battlestar is the best TV show after The Wire, Oz and Sopranos IMO.
The shield is a great show, series 7 has just ended over here and it was a great final series
Anybody watching Crash with Dennis Hopper?
A programme I'm splitting my sides at atm is Outnumbered with Hugh Dennis, the kids in it are soo funny (They have by far the best lines) and they make a brilliant comedy of a clichéd topic (Dysfunctional family) it's on BBC1 at 10 past 9 in the evenings and it's well worth a look
I posted in the first post about The US Office, now in seson 5 its still capable of perfect comedy. The youtube clip is the opening scene from episode 13. I challenge anybody to find anything funnier on TV
Got "The thick of it" and "The Corner" for recent birthday presents.
The Thick of it is Armando Iannucci's take on the behind the scences going-on in politics very good kinda like mixing the office and yes minister.
The corner was The Wire's writter David Simon's next move after Homcide: Life on the streets and is what gave him and Robert F. Colesberry the idea for the Wire. Only watched one episode so far will let you know how it plays out
The corner is very depressing Neish. Good to see members of the Wire cast playing junkies though - especially Freamon! I'm reading the book as well at the moment and it's worth checking out. 628 pages so it's going to keep me busy!
Ianucci's stuff seems to be underrated for the most part. I adored Time Trumpet - a sort of pop retrospective, but set in the future. My favourite scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vj7Y76d578Q
Anyone remember Round the Twist? It was an Oz program mainly for kids but i knew a few adults who watched it too.Had a catchy theme tune too. Also,Pugwall, another chessy Oz program, still liked it though.
Lived in a haunted lighthouse didn't they?
Thats the one.Not sure it was haunted though but there definalty was strange going's on.I remember Pugwall VERY well as back then when i was 11or 12 i REALLY liked the girl in it
One of my personal favourite retro programs of the 90s was Beverly Hills Bordello!
As a young man I always found it worth staying up until 1 am to watch it. I must pick it the blu-ray special addition with commentary. Much better than the overrated, arty Red shoes diary.
Bless Bravo.
Just finished this yesterday, another great show from HBO, a bit depressing at times but its a story about heroin addicts and drug dealers so it not the lightest subject. Really like the interview with the real peopel at the end.
Dexter season 2 up next missed the first episode of series 2 it on ITV and been dying to see it since
I'd certainly recommend Lost to anyone , it's been great this season!
I'd recommend Flight of the concords, pretty funny, clip below
Second series was not half as good as the first.
Breaking Bad is my current top show.
First scene of series 1.
Just finished Season 2 of Dexter, excellent viewing even better than season 1.
My sister lent me Season1 of both Weeds & 30 Rock Anyone else see either/both of these, what they like?
Testees on FX
Weeds is brilliant, new season starting next week, Burn Notice back next week too, plus a new show called Royal Pains which may be good(everything on USA Network is good).:)
The Unit is very good, wasn't sure about it after watching the first couple of episodes of the first season but Im glued to it now, it's on tonight again on Virgin 1!
Finished 4th and final season of Battlestar Galactica las night quality show kinda sad there'll be no more
Got a loan of Sate of Play from a friend after him chatting about it for a few years, watched 3 episodes so far and really enjoying it. One of the best British drams series I've seen.
Series 7 of the sheild next not sure then after that. Thinking about True blood? Anyone here seen it?,any good? Its HBO so should be decent at least. Read somewhere(think it was on here actually) that TG4 were screening it somtime this year any truth in this?
