And what was your blues brothers contigent on friday night like??
Printable View
252 at Turner's X for cobh /Harps:o :o v.diappointing, the sooner we're back in Cobh the better.
text from the brother said that thee was approx 1500 at the RSC for the Bray game
Was told around 1100 paying customers at Athlone vs Wexford Youths today so with season ticket holders and under 12 who are free when accompanied I would estimate the crowd to be around 1500.
Expected travelling contingent of Wexford fans didn't happen.
Not bad for a Sunday afternoon considering we were competing with two other attractions namely Westmeath vs Galway and Roscommon vs Longford
The official figures must include everyone at the game otherwise they are worthless.
UCD-Cork 744 official.
As posted by ShelsW, club official, on your forum - "1,896 in total". Don't see how that can't be considered unofficial. The thread on the Shels forum indicates that any freebies would have been largely immaterial.
This post on Cobh forum would indicate that the figure I was given wasn't too far off the mark. I get the impression my contact counted them individually!
ShelsW told you the first week the 1572 from Kildare didn't include the free people and you took it as 1572. ShelsW tells you the next week it's 1,896 IN TOTAL and you take that as official. One or the other???? Either you take the total figure or you don't.
I trust ShelsW and his figures. It's the same figure I heard from directors after the game but why do you pay no attention to the first weeks figure when ShelsW said the 1,572 didn't count the free people.
And you can be certain that the number of people getting in for free is NOT immaterial. My own guess whould be that you're adding on at least another three figures.
If you want to use ShelsW because you think I'm lying for some reason!! then look in the thread were you pulled out the 1,572, he also says when asked the question, Does that include season tickets holders?
"Yes - but not the centre door - which took in about another 125."
You need to clarify with ShelsW what he's putting on the board as the first week seems to be paid in people and the second week seems to be the total.
You feck off to the contunity attendances thread you. :)
Higgins, if you want to make your point without going off on some whiney rant, please feel free to do so. Leixlip Red posted the attendace for Kildare as being just over 1500, and quoted Fintan Cassidy as his source. I'm not going to argue against official club figures in the absence of anything else other than ranty speculation.
Update after week 3.
I've put in 117 for Cobh v Harps for now, being the lower figure I was given. I know that CBG certainly has access to official figures in the past, so if we can confirm that the 252 is official, I'll replace it.
I've revised Bray v Bohs from week 2 to 1800 in line with the continuity attendances thread. The 2500 which we had was from the papers, which I'm quite happy to ignore.
PREMIER DIVISION
Bohs - 3,078 (2006 - 1,463; 2005 - 1,976; 2004 - 2,340)
Bray - 1,800 (1,027; 1,550; 818 FD)
Cork - 3,000 (2,941; 3,644; 4,033)
Derry - 4,000 (3,229; 2,698; 1,672)
Drogheda - 1,700 (1,751; 1,682; 1,554)
Galway - 2,580 (1,148 FD; 566 FD; 571 FD)
Longford - 900 (681; 1,004; 1,131)
Pat's - 1,855 (1,342; 1,599; 1,882)
Rovers - 2,000 (1,089 FD; 1,539; 1,349)
Sligo - 1,500 (1,806; 1,794 FD; 781 FD)
UCD - 1,195 (546; 653; 306 FD)
Waterford - 2,050 (915; 1,513; 1,753)
FIRST DIVISION
Athlone - 1,750 (421; 316; 291)
Cobh - 246 (368; 403; 240)
Dundalk - 2,500 (1,078; 474; 591)
Harps - 1,100 (428; 1,347 PD; 1,106)
Kildare - 250 (265; 186; 298)
Kilkenny - 150 (122; 185; 110)
Limerick - 934 (364; 669; 188)
Monaghan - 309 (204; 183; 182) (missing Kilkenny)
Shels - 1,734 (1,690 PD; 1,949 PD; 2,158 PD)
Wexford - 2,130 (n/a)
Premeir Division average - 2,030 (1,535; 1,759; 1,853)
First Division average - 1,126 (570; 520; 512)
Overall average - 1,622 (1,070; 1,195; 1,218)
FD is an average crowd in the First Division; PD is an average crowd in the Premier Division. I've only put that in where the attendances was when the club was in a different one to their current division.
Missing games -
Monaghan v Kilkenny
The FAI told us they'd give us 4 quatros for every person we can get in the gate. These are the important issues. So my guess at the attendance would be c. 10,000. You could barely get your pint glass throwing arm from out beside your leg it was that packed. Though other estimates had under 2000 and Dave Crawley's massive cranium filling up the rest of the space
What are you talking about now?
Go to post #174, I told you how many were at the game and it was ignored. I made a further post on the subject and then clarified what I was talking about in a 3rd post.
there was no official figure given. ShelsW posted 1572 as paid in and 125 as freebies in the same thread. LeixlipRed went ahead and posted 1500 and now suddenly the 125 free are ignored. Is there anything you won't to to have a go at Shels :) remarkable stuff...
all I was attempting to do was clear it up
whiney rant or not, I'll leave you to it as I see you've ignored that facts again with your latest posting.
You just posted a figure; you gave no back up or anything. I'm always going to take a figure from a club official over random guesstimates (or at least, what appear to be guesstimates) posted like that.

Thank you for a non-ranty, backed-up post, Raheny. I'll have a look see what I did with this last year; basically want to make it consistent with the treatment for Galway last year. Although I think that was a case of someone posting the official attendance and other people saying there were way more than that, whereas here it's the person who posted the attendance amending his own figure, in which case I'll change it.
I backed it up..
I knew the crowd was 1700 and I said it. I'm sorry for not making a reference. I posted in total three times and the last one pointed out ShelsW ammended his own figure but you of course ignored it just because it came from 'higgins'.
Anyway how do you get to be a club official like ShelsW ?
He'll love that.... :D
I've missed these rows between Pineapple and Higgins.
Perhaps one of yee should open a thread about how the other's club doesn't deserve a place in the league?
1608 at Pats v Bray. About double the amount that came to the same fixture last season when it had to be moved to the Wednesday after Easter to accommodate a Ladies International match at Richmond Park
Reading 4 or 5 posts on the dundalk forum, 2,200 for the athlone game seems to be a figure most are happy with.
Where do you think the balls teams warming up with came from :D
2200 at the pats match imo
stand had about 400 empty seats so 1600 in there
Camac was near full about 500 there
Shed had 100 which swelled in 2nd half when Afri-Core band went in there
About 100 bray fans in stand and few more on camac side
So all in 2200
kdjac
I'd say about 1300 at the RSC last night for Waterford United v Bohs.
About 200 in Kilkenny, if even!
awful crowd
About 3,000 at the Cross I'd say.
1,400 guestimate at rovers v galway...
