I'm not being smart but how do you expect the other clubs to compete with Pike? or to reach their standard? it's impossible
Printable View
Why is it impossible?when view were winning everything, pike upped the anti.didn't they, maybe it will be the boro or balla next, there will always be one or two clubs who will be dominant and that's the way it will always be.when view were winning everything there was never this much euphoria.get on with it.
your living in a different world lad if u think every other club can compete with pike, they just dont have the lollies.im not knocking pike at all,all im sayin is if there a club that want to progress they should think about movin on to the A championship rather than picking up mickey mouse cups in the city.im obviously excluding the fai in them cups,Il probably get knocked for calling them mickey mouse cups but think about it and tell me pike wont win them all for nxt 10 yrs if they keep snapping up the best players in town that other clubs have brought through the underage ranks and then all pike want to do is compete with the likes of summerville carew park etc, where is the sense in that?
Corbally 2 Carew park 3, jamie o sullivan, jamie kelly, eddie shine,
what a strange game this morning corbally were two up and played very well in the first half as for Carew bar one or two everyone to a man were poor we did not play well from start to finish we were missing 3 or 4 big players but still had a strong team out sully pulled one back from the spot bit of a debate if it was inside the box or not jamie kelly missed a open goal ball was clear fell to jamie about 40yrds out miskicked it the bounce of the ball caught the keeper out. corbally had a stonewall pen turned down. on to 2nd half it was carews turn to have a stonewall pen turned down when steven grant was through on goal both side had chances to get the 3rd until 85min when sub eddies shine scored a screamer a volley 20yrds top corner.
overall we showed alot of heart to come back when not playing well draw prob a fair result but we will take it
Their setting the standard but I dont agree witht the way their doing it and yes Lankyboy i know what you mean. Yes they will win everything for the next few years but something will be done about it sometime if it keeps going the way it is maybe like you must have a certain amount of schoolboys in your team or something. Nobody can compete with Pike now but the likes of Fairview and Boro have pubs and view have an astro field too, all I'm saying is if they want to beat Pike they have to do what Pike are doing.
a very honest post thomas.to say we are gutted is an understatement.story of our season so far tho.cant close out a win.winning our first 2 games and threw them both away.a very strange game indeed . a shocking refereeing display this morning.giving frees for nothing and then punishing both teams cause he knew he made a mistake.afew very dubious spot kick calls this morning to say the least.a sweet volley for the winner with first touch of the ball.top class finish.there the chances that win games.again this morning we had more chances and didnt take them.best of luck for rest of season.
No I don't to be honest, are you another one of these fellas who believes all the bulls***,it's a bit sad really when all yere worrying about is whose getting what at pike.all yere doing is spurring them even more,so keep up the god work and they'll keep picking up the trophies,
kilmallock 3 star 1
well done to the aisling younsters today on their win,to come back from that hammering the other night is a credit to them, while we all expect that teams can only beat whats put in front of them the fact that an experienced one would continue to hammer pointless goals past an already demoralised opposition is disturbing.on the other topic of debate on here fairviews trophy laden seasons saw players play at the fairgreen for one reason ....footballing one, nothing else.
all amateur clubs in the premiership should give a walk over to any club that pays their players, all they would get is a €50 fine sure it would cost you that to pay the ref, so there would be no extra cost to the clubs, then the ldmc would have to do something about it, they cant suspend 99% of the teams in the premiership.
It didn't bother them when they were hammering them past pike 19s the night before did it,it's aishlings problem if they lose their players and no one elses, and would ye ever give it a break, and stop mouthing about what ye know nothing about, yere sad sad sad, players want to play against the best not give walkovers, some of the stuff ye write is unreal, the jealousy will get the better of ye eventually.
Lads I'm no fan of pike but the constant bashing of them is getting boring and ruining this thread. We all have our opinions on what's happen in prem football but lets try stick to what's happening on the field.
On that, an excellent performance by wembley thus morn which should have seen them get all 3 points. A poor penalty decision gave balla a way back who I'd say are happy with a point after being outplayed for z lot of the game
no matter what pike do they can only field 11 players, the same as every1 else, if people spend more energy trying to raise there game to there level than whinging on this forum maybe limerick soccer in general would be in a better place.

12th man only last week you said that if the slandering of pike with regards players being paid did not stop you would act on it,still it is going on and nothing is being done and we as a club are sick and tired of it.
this is only yer 2nd game back this year dont count your chickens just yet when ye were fighting to get back up last year we were still in munster junior and fai and by the way were never happy with a point we go out to win thats why ye went down ye were happy with a point pressure is only for tyres .....
Im confused, when we were fighting to get back up last year ye were still in the Fai and munster junior, we reached the semi final of the munster junior cup last year which means ye were out of it by then. On the game yesterday, we were not happy with a draw we should have won that game part from a terrible penalty decision and a mistake from a corner kick that left Frank lee in other than that we controlled most of the game. And true, pressure is only for tyres.
hoops39 - if this "slandering" of your club is so upsetting to you then I suggest you sit down with all your players and tell them to stop blabbing and boasting around the town regarding their imaginery handsome "renumeration packages." Your actions should begin on your own doorstep.
Anyone know the pike team that played yesterday
saw a bit of the boro and fairview game yesterday.
i know fairview were short a few of their regular team, but was disappointed by the performances of some of the established players.
looked like they were not that interested to be honest.
only a couple of players played like it ment something to them.
not taking anything away from the boro who could have easily scored 3 or 3 more goals.
very good side and could give pike a run for their money if they stay injury free.
on the down side, they seemed to be constantly whinging at the ref,in particular their centre half, who ran the length of the field demanding a yellow card, which would have resulted in a fairview player getting sent off.
the score at that stage was 4-1 with less then ten minutes remaining, and the game was over as a contest.
as i say, fine side, but cut out the whinging
Safe Hands dont be under any illusions, the only reason ye got a point yesterday was because the referee eventually buckled under constant pressure from dunphy and yere sideline roaring and shouting for every minor incident which occured, the penalty was a joke every one in the ground knew it,because our lads where outplaying ye for long periods ye had to resort to bullyboy tactics, well done to our lads on a very good performance.
He isnt far off the mark regarding your sideline though. The Balla sideline complaing about every decision the ref makes. As for the game I wasnt there but talking to 2 of the Balla lads they said Wembley were unlucky however they gave away bad goals.
1 from a mix up at a corner?
I was at the boro/view game yesterday as well and i thought the view dominated a lot of the game going forward, but silly defensive errors cost them dearly, the centre halfs were very poor, buckley didn't want to know about the game, the right full was shocking, paul quinn did what he could do with coping with clarke and mcnicholas... bennis could have maybe done better with some of the goals but did produce some fine saves to keep the score line at 4.....The young lad in the middle, madigan i think isn't up to premier standard and doylye was a big loss... Where's travis gone? All in all they were missing players with injuries and other comitments (GAA) so the view will bounce back. The Boro will push Pike & the View all the way this year, they've some fine young players that will gel giving match time.... Best of luck to both teams
agree they will bounce back, but still think that some players only interested in the big comps.,(FAI and MJC)
the team,if the likes of heffernan and mcgarry were available for selection, and even mullane would be a lot stronger.
also doyle did not start because he had an injury.
they need to sort out the left full position and fast....
if you were'nt there how can you coment on a sideline?? and yes i heard the keeper was at fault for a goal only a young lad good days ahead for him..and after wembley losing there 1st game i would'nt think they were going to roll over...as for sidelines theres a lot worse in town when you see another club robbing your footballs i think is worse than a loud sideline..
Sorry I wasnt referring to yesterdays game regarding the Balla sideline. I meant in general they are like that. Every time I watch them their line is in uproar as soon as the ref blows the whistle. For me the balla line is the worse for getting on refs backs over decision. But hey, thats only 1 mans opinion. I msure others on here would disagree with me :)
As for the keeper, your right he is only a young lad and he does have good days ahead of him. He will be a very good keeper if he sticks with it.
Is he the A keeper for the season, isnt he still underage for 19s? What happened to Paudie?
