Shannon town given a walkover knockainey.
the club phoned up on sat midday to give a walkover,we had 2 suspended and 4 out injured..thats without 6 first team players,we had no other choice
wel thats great for the city teams isnt it?wats the point in dragging out to shannon wit 9 players to get hockeyed??
look im only a player no point in having a go at me..i cant answer that.maybe if ye concentrated on the league instead of treating the lawson cup so seriuos...whos gonna beat pike in it anyway??
At least they'll turn up,as a matter of interest have ye ever given a walkover in a GAA game?
It's the LDMC league trophy and only the Prem.League,MJ & FAI go before it on prestige and ye could have used B players you know. Ye would have had a good hop off Shannon Town and would have done Div.1B proud as ye did against Carew & Corbally this season.Incidentally last season Pike were hot favourites but Balla put a stop to their gallop in Jackman, that's cup football. It's a pity things have gone pear shaped in Knockainey as a lot of people said they would do well in 1A if they got up this season.
dont have any involvement in the gaa..our lads turn up too,wat du want us to do play injured players..yea we had very good cup results this season with a full team out,two defeats in a week cost us dearly in the league near the end of the season
Didn't know they had a B team, that even makes their decision even worse, surely to god they could have came up with 11 players.it seems they just didn't bother their a***s turning up so,they should be expelled from competition,it's a club comp so they had the players from both panels
Pike Rovers v Carew Park QF Sunday 15th may
Its more disrespectful to the teams that Knockainey knocked out to be honest. I'm sure those teams would like to have still been in the Lawson Cup. Knockainey didn't have to play with 9 players or injured players, they could have asked the B team and i'm sure they would have obliged. Ive been involved in games where we have gone out with the bare 11 and players stepped up to the mark and got the result. Its better than giving a walkover in any competition.
very disapointing to hear that knockainey are giving shannon a walkover.they ran there socks off against corbally in an earlier round and went on to win on penalties.the celebrations of the team on the day after getting a premier teams scalp makes it even more unbelievable that they are giving a walkover.i would of fancied them against a shannon team who havent had the best year.disrespectful i think.as a previous post said surely they could have got 11 out.
very disappointing what knockainey have done,it was disrespectful to the lawson cup,but it is becoming a regular thing now in a lot of the leagues especially this time of the season.
to clear things up everybody needs to relax,ud swear someone was dead the way ye are making such a big deal out of it...we were missing 6 a team players, and just found out that our b team captain was getting married last weekend any thats why we couldnt draw on our b team players..
Just found out?gimme a break,I suppose the whole b squad were at the wedding,it was on of a Sunday ya??????
here have a break.
Funny guy,go join the Desmond league if yere not going to give competitions the respect they deserve,
agree 100%

Pike or Carew Park v Shannon Town
most squads these days have approx 16-18 players minimum.. so what your saying between an A & B Team you could not field 11 players for a 1/4 final.. ye must be a strange club if you dont even know your B team captain was getting married untill the last moment  did ye not even attempt to contact league and explain your situation and see if they would postpone game . yes nobody died but you showed no respect to the competition or the teams you defeated in earlier rounds.
it shows your ambition as a club if it is classed as not a big deal to give a walkover in 1/4 finals of the lawson cup.
Pike 4 carew park 2 cyril maher, john boyle. A game we left behind us this morning 2 nil up with 20mins left just before pike got one back we had a great chance to go 3 up pike keeper pulled off a world class save but been honest the chance should of been taken that IMO would of put carew out of sight. PIke went up The field and made it 2-1 and scored again on 85mins. In extra time there was only going to be one winner teirney made it 3-2 with a lovely strike outside the box we pushed on and were caught for the 4th last kick of the game. could not ask for more lads gave everything. best of luck to pike rovers next weekend.
pike are conceding a lot of goals recently. they will need to shore up that defence if they are to have any luck next weekend. hope they do win it for limerick but they will need to (as chris kamara puts it) "defend like beavers"

Don't know how Albert slattery stayed on the field,he made a lunge for John tierney and if he connected he would have done damage, always the same with that fella when things don't go his way.interesting to see John Boyle taken off,was a bit surprised with that,is he not supposed to be their superstar, his brother Patrick is a far better player,he will be with one of the bigger clubs next year I'd say.
i agree with you on pat boyle being a very good player boy wonder.I cant see him leaving carew pk though.he is there captain at 21 and is the future of that club.carew have signed some good young players who can bring the club forward if they stay put. I think it was a bit harsh of you to be having a dig at john boyle tho.he has had a very good season for carew pk and im sure pike will be trying to sign him back in the summer.
