Ingenious idea there JD. I'm sure none of the clubs have tried to build up links with the local schoolboy clubs and they're all only dying to cooperate.

Ingenious idea there JD. I'm sure none of the clubs have tried to build up links with the local schoolboy clubs and they're all only dying to cooperate.
That's why all the top Fortune 500 companies are after him, for brainwaves like that.
Mark Tighe had a sort of update on the ODCE case against Delaney. Listed as one of the items that JD is claiming legal privilege is 're Drogheda United', anyone recall issues with Drogheda cropping up that would have gotten in to legals that he'd have an issue with? Also listed is DPP v JD which is strange as it would be from emails seized from the FAI and surely there would be something about it at the time.
Just searching through the internet, Drogheda and Delaney come up regards the new stadium announcement in 2018, and discussions with unpaid players in 2009.
Is Delaney still living in the UK?
He must be as it says the affidavit was signed at a law firm in Bracknell.
Yeah last time I heard from JD he was in the UK so I imagine hes still there!
Down Surrey direction based on his company and legal team location

Quote:
John Delaney is recruiting his Irish contacts to become directors of brass-plate Irish companies for overseas online businesses selling cannabis oil and other e-commerce schemes for €3,000 a year and boasting it is “money for jam”.
How desperate would you have to be to allow anyone to use your name as a Director in a new venture .........
You'd want to be very careful. There would be serious obligations on the directors to ensure the company isn't facilitating money laundering for starters. But I'm sure businesses like cannabis oil and adult entertainment wouldn't be high risk for that kind of thing.
God loves a trier, or John the Baptist even. I detest the man and what he has done to the game here, there is something of his persistance or sheer brass neck that is almost amusing, the English/Essex geeza and all. It does show an insight in to his true character that wasnt just incompetent where the house of cards came crashing in. He must love Mark Tighe. Im at a loss as to how he has managed to keep the ODCE investigation at arms length for so long.
It is possible that the UK authorities might start taking a closer look at his business antics. Sounds a bit like a pyramid scheme where ye get 3k for a 500 investment and then additional payments of 500 for anyone else you get signed up!?? Is it really that easy and legal to do so - long before the whole dodgy clickbait website stuff making false claims. Maybe im just naive.....sign me up John, Ive a clean business record and could do with 3k + plus plenty of contacts that woul also love money for jam as I get a bonus of 500 quid for each. I think they were treading carefully in the podcast tbh. Well at least he'd have a Waterford connection insider with Mr Pilley if it goes pear shaped...
As an aside, Tighe referred to him as a Chartered Accountant, wasnt that one of the issues where he was a trained accountant but never took his professional exams and hence was getting someone to sign of accounts as he wasnt chartered? Stu, you seem to know more about this kind of stuff!?
Finally, what gobsh1te sends whatsapp voice messages knowing they can be passed on without benig able to deny it was them as they could in a phonecall when yer swinging close to the wind legally or ethically. I do know there are a bunch of investigations in to dodgy procurement of PPE for the NHS of which he was also allegedly on that gravy train - and they are catching up with those involved slowly but surely.
Ironic to be using "money for jam", which is an old British Army expression that you rarely hear these days.
Papers that looked into his accountancy qualifications were threatened with legal action at a time when the fai we’re paying for numerous cases instigated by our ec CEO.
Turned up in Cooke Park for the FAI Cup game between St. Michaels v Waterford!
The big John Delaney derby - hardly a surprise I guess!
He has some neck anyway. Any of us would be ashamed to show our faces in Ireland again after everything that happened under his watch. Mind you, we were always the problem not Dear Leader.
Oh, he's probably a misunderstood genius in the south-east, just like that ****wit Sean Quinn in the midlands after his pyramid scheme of an insurance company collapsed.
Cavan/Fermanagh isn't the midlands! Give us a break!
Loses appeal over court docs: https://www.rte.ie/news/courts/2023/...-john-delaney/
Is something going to actually happen now?
He has played every trick in the book over these documents, delaying nomination what were covered under legal privilage, postponing hearings, apealing high court decisions. But now he is at the end of his rope. He has also gotten himself seriously offside with the presiding judges. Assuming he hasnt another trick in reserve eg some illness that needs urgent treatment, then this case is actually going to happen and didnt fizzle out as JD hoped. Im absolutely sure that the only reason he has gone to such lengths to stay out of the dock is that there are some total stonker relevations to be made!!
It does sound like that alright, doesn't it?
Here's hoping at least! Of course, if the documents haven't magically disappeared (which would be really naughty, but never say never I guess), then it'll take a fair bit of time to sift through them and build a case. Could be looking at a year anyway I guess?
Christ knows what will come to light now.
For a guy like him that was around when email was invented and has stuck with one employer there is evedry liklyhood his personal and professional email addresses are one and the same or at the very least all on his work PC / Laptop.
A birds eye view into his life will no doubt bring out plenty of current unknowns to go with the stuff that is already Public.
Will he do jail time...i doubt it.
Would it achieve anything beyond costing the State more money......probably not.
What i cant understand is some of the people still standing by him
The documents are held by both paries still, the delays were all about identifying which were admssible. Content has already been logged and todays decision allows the case begin in earnest now. If documents do get shown as gone missing the prosecution will be able to provide copies. All loop holes and delayimg tactics have been played by JD, so he should just get his big boy pants on now and quit the messing, Let the fun/anger/disbelief etc begin!
Wouldt totally rule out jail time but it would ba nominal 4 weeks unless the judges are ****ed off. Im fine with such additional cost to the state. If it stops his 'money for jam' scams since well that'd be a result
There was a professional fee paid related to an Ireland England friendly that never made it to his partner at the time who denied any knowledge of it that just looks to an untrained eye as outright theft.
But you never know how these things will go.
Somewhat amusing / enraging / nauseating that his company in the UK is called Delay Ltd.
The Legal systems are S___!
Just ask anyone who has had to deal with solicitors for any reasons so complicated, so don't expect it to be any different with the the top brass and their legal court dealings!
He has already got away with it, he knows the FAI have no money and haven't the balls to chase him!
I don't think it's the FAI chasing him at this stage in fairness. Probably DPP or the Revenue?
Oce are the ones who will spearhead the case against Jd.
Three very important - and linkable - points.
And the last part is most important.
I would imagine the claim for the sycophant's is akin to 'he's been good to Irish football, he cared about us, now it's our time to support him' - which is a line he himself has probably spun in private many times - that he cares about Irish football. And it's very important to consider in line with the actions of those sycophants (both vocal and silent) and he himself - because it is absolutely bloody clear that he doesn't care about Irish football. If he did, because he cannot in any way believe that he behaved morally or corporately correct during his tenure, and in that regard by behaving how he's behaving now (delaying, obfustication, blackguarding and whatnot) is only prolonging the damage, the seen and the undercurrent, that he is doing to Irish football in the eyes of the country, in the eyes of business and potentially in the eyes of Uefa too.
An action that could have been completed by now with the consequences and reverberations of whatever malpractices that he oversaw which will ultimately cum to light and how that will drag the opinion of Irish football and governance of it further into the gutter while at the same time a rival organisations reputation (looks like it) is only going to increase with the prospect of previously unattainable world success. It's upsetting and frustrating because something that is over and should have had a line drawn in the sand about it so the sport can move on, is ultimately paralysed until that line is actually drawn.
It's why anyone who utters anything other than total condemnation for the scumbag should be castigated severely and for a prolonged period of time.
I agree with your post and the sentiment of the last line but I dont think I could take any Healy-Raes shouting endless cead mile failtes to the Kingdom in some sort of general defiance to the country and with little actually to do with JD himself. The case should be done and dusted but a real catharsis was always going to happen. Its possible the vocal few defenders of JD's reign will have retreated during the 1st wave of public outrage and the aftermath, this could permanantly stomp on those who think an officials position in the FAI is virtually untouchable if cronies dont fold, and there is a number still among the loyal ranks. If this turns out to be a transparent process with some reasonable outcome it wont be a total bust and burying things in time passed always bites back eventually so so far fair play to the OCE for not blinking. If the court does subsequently we can dust off the pitchforks...
The moment he gets the news and realises his money for jam days are numbered. €2mil in legal costs...there is a large lump of satisfaction that he has that bill now, so much for his FAI pension.
