Are you suggesting that they deliberately misled the FAI?
Is it that he definitely isnt eligible (in which case how have the FAI / UEFA accepted the registration) or that in his Q&A article he only mentions England which would be annoying as fcuk?
I emailed the FAI last week to find out just that but I've not had a response.
haha - that is terrible. Sorry, I normally do check my spelling as I hate reading posts like that!!
You missed fcuk!
I don't know to be honest, but it's ridiculous that they played without being eligible and that two entirely eligible Irish lads missed a place in the respective squads because of it. I think the FAI are ultimately to blame though - you can't really heap blame on young lads like that. I mean, the FAI know the rules. I'd just love to know the full story behind it all.

Interesting looking at how our players did this weekend. From the team we put out on Wednesday against France:
Shay Given played 90 minutes
John O'Shea not on the bench for Man U, injured
Richard Dunne played 90 minutes against Burnley
Kevin Kilbane on the bench for Hull but did not play
Sean St. Ledger played 90 minutes for Middlesbrough
Damien Duff introduced on 75 minutes for Fulham (subbed on for Stephen Kelly)
Keith Andrews on the bench for Blackburn but did not play
Glenn Whelan on the bench for Stoke but did not play
Liam Lawrence introduced on 57 minutes for Stoke
Robbie Keane on the bench for Spurs but did not play
Kevin Doyle not even on the bench for Wolves against Chelsea
subs:
Paul McShane introduced on 57 minutes for Hull
Darron Gibson introduced for Manchester United on 83 minutes
Aiden McGeady played 90 minutes for Celtic
very worrying indeed. Two of our four first choice midfielders were subbed on, the other two didn't play, and our first choice striker duo didn't kick a ball in anger. A case of them being too knackered after Wednesday's heartbreak or something more perhaps?
Doyle and Keane were rested. Whelan had a groin strain even though he was on the bench. O’Shea was injured also.
KK's days looked numbered at Hull. Andrews has lost his place recently, but is still a valued squad player. Lawrence is out of favour at the moment at Stoke.
I just noticed this on the bbc website - dont know much about this guy, but he's only 20 so maybe someone should email the FAI since they always seem the last to find out about players eligability
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ll/8373519.stm
According to an interview with the daily record - http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/footbal...8057-21669887/ - he's never played at any youth level.
On wikipedia it says he qualifies for Ireland through his mother, Poland through his grandfather, but he doesn't have Polish citizenship
Everton have an excellent record with youth players, so I'm surprised he hasn't played for any country at underage level
From the newspaper interview it sounds as though he is letting it be known he is eligable for us. Having said that, it doenst look like he is good enough to make it in the top flight in England so would he really be an improvement on the likes of Sheridan?

Jutkiewicz scored again for Motherwell - he is on 6 now
Stephen Ward (Wolves) makes a return after injury. Think this guy is a real prospect for the left full position.
What is the current news with Kevin Foley?
Did I see Mark Yeates put in an absolute peach of a cross for Kitson to score from at the weekend? Sound was turned down on the TV yesterday morning.
Not quite back to full fitness, but has had one reserve game behind him and we desperately need him, irrespective if he is fully fit, or not, after Sunday's woeful performance.
Great to see Wardy back - and totally agree with Drummerboy that he is a great prospect for us. Gave us the balance that we needed on the left and was probably our best player. Amazing to think that he was a striker two years ago. He came on at half time (after one reserve game in three months) and was constantly running and probing the flanks. That kid has more balls than the whole wolves team put together and the fans are universally baying for him to be back playing regularly for us. McCarthy has likened him to Killer and you can see the resemblance - his willingness to learn and develop will take him a long way.
Stephen Carr also had a good game. Got up the line really well and marked our pacy winger (Jarvis) out of the game. Looked really solid and would definitely be a stepup from McShane, for his defensive intelligence alone.
As for Mick, he needs to stop worrying about the opposition and play his strongest team, otherwise we are in for a long hard season. The fans are already banging on about him being given the chop, citing his lack of tactical nous and his inability to cut it at the top level (it's amazing what sh*te, thick sun-readers read and recite). After the highs of Paris, Sunday, and the lack of belief from players and fans alike, was a real low. Makes you wonder why you bother. There's no substitute for the boys in green. Keep the faith.
Just watched the highlights of Blackpool and Preston on SSN and Billy Clarke looked like he was on fire. Scored a great goal from 20 yards out after a quick turn and burst of pace. Also hit the bar and the post with two quality, stinging, snapshot efforts from a similar range. It's obvious the kid has genuine ability and has all the attributes of a good striker - maybe just needs the confidence - I'd love to see him get a good run. He looked a real prospect at Ipswich and was linked to Everton not so long ago. Think a manager like Ian Holloway could get the best out of him - seems to have a repaul with his players and I dare say would have more empathy than Big, Mad, Roy. This Kid could still make it for us.
Billy Clarke has went off the radar recently. He had a couple of great seasons with Ipswich then Magilton sent him off on loan to various clubs. He done very well at Brentford on loan and went back to Ipswich but Keane didn't fancy him so he was off again. He seems to be back to his best, especially when he has a manager who believes in him.
As regards Wolves fans baying for Big Mick blood. Well it was only a matter of time. No offence MIW but they must the most cantankerous fans in England, as on TV over the years they always seem to be getting on their own players backs.
Watched that game the other day, and yeah Billy Clarke looked like a cut above every other player on the field in the first half. Every time he touched the ball it looked like Blackpool were going to score; however, in the second half I hardly noticed him at all.
I think that may be the first time I've seen him outside of highlights and he definitely impressed me.
Mark Yeates was excellent today for 'boro according to R5 Live. I think he could be in with a shout for a squad place in 2010.

Gary Dicker scored Brighton's only goal in a one-two loss to Colchester Utd.
I think it's Dicker's (ex-UCD) first League goal for Brighton after signing for them at the start of the season.
He was on loan with them from Stockport, for the latter part of last season. This time last season Stockport had serious intentions of reaching the play-off spots and Brighton were in danger of going down. But Stockport had to shed their playing staff to reduce expenditure and went into administration, got docked ten points and ended up below Brighton at the end of the season.
There's a few ex-Stockport County there, Liam Dickinson, James Tunnicliffe and Craig Davies are others

Joe Mason made his debut for Plymouth last week and was on the bench again this weekend gone.
Good Spot!
James has high hopes for youngster Mason
Quote:
ARGYLE youth development officer John James has admitted he has high hopes for Pilgrims' teenage prospect Joe Mason.
The 18-year-old made his debut for the first team in the 1-0 defeat by Sheffield United at Home Park on Saturday.
Mason started on the right-side of midfield and put in a promising performance before he was replaced by Craig Noone in the 65th minute.
James said: "Overall, I thought he did well. It's a big thing for a kid of 18 to get into the first team and I was very pleased for the boy.
"His passing was good, his linkage was good and he always tried to do something positive when he was on the ball."

Although Mason's first senior appearance for Argyle came in midfield, James believes the teenage prospect will make his mark as a striker in the long term.
Mason has been a regular goalscorer for the under-18s and reserves over the past couple of seasons.
James said: "Joe can play as one of two strikers, or he can play off someone, so he's very versatile.
"He's just 18 so he's only going to get better with a couple more years of professional football. I think he will turn out to be a good goalscorer."
Mason was born in Plymouth and attended St Boniface College before signing as an apprentice for his hometown club in July 2007.
He then signed a one-year professional contract with the Pilgrims last summer.
Mason's first involvement with Argyle came when he started attending their centre of excellence in 2000, aged nine.
James said: "I spotted him playing for SB Frankfort against Elm United. I will never forget it.
"He scored a hat-trick in that game and I knew there and then that I had seen enough.
"I spoke to his manager, Jock Haswell, who is now one of our scouts, and we got Joe in."
Mason is the youngest of three brothers who have all been Argyle apprentices.
But his older siblings, Dennis and Anthony, did not break into the Pilgrims' first team.
Mason's development has been aided by playing for the Republic of Ireland at international age group level.
He is eligible to represent them because his mother was born in County Mayo.
Mason played for Ireland at under-16 and under-18 level before stepping up to the under-19s.
He scored two of the goals in a 5-0 win against San Marino in a European Championship qualifier last month.
James said: "From speaking to Sean McCaffrey (the Ireland under-19s manager), I know he thinks a lot of Joe and that's he's going from strength to strength with them."
Mason has netted five goals in as many games for Argyle's reserves this season, but the step-up to playing in the Championship is a considerable one.
James said: "One minute you are playing reserve team football in front of not many people and then you are thrust into the first team, aged 18, and suddenly there are 9,000 or 10,000 people there."
Mason's elevation to the senior side will come as a massive boost for all involved with Argyle's youth department.
James said: "It does encourage you, especially when a local boy like Joe, who has been born and bred in Plymouth, gets his chance."
