Another set of big games for the "bottom 6" this weekend,
Bray - Harps is important for both sides, Bray with only one point and no goals are under severe pressure if they lose this and surely Gormley's position will come under pressure too. Harps on the back of a fair ass kicking can't afford to lose against one the fellow relegation contenders, with Sheilds expected back I reckon Harps first away win (hopefully anyways).
Sligo - Cobh - Sligo fans claims of Harps easy start will most definitely eat their words if they fail to beat Cobh after failing to beat UCD in a dour game last week. Cobh are still winless but a draw against Cork could give them the boost needed to take a win, a defeat really will make it an up-hill battle to stay up, still sayng that I expect Cobh to come away with a narrow win and Davin O'Neill to get on the score-sheet.
Drogheda - Galway - With Cousins getting the boot and an expected back lash from Drog, its hard to see Galway getting anything from this game. Drogs to win by 2 or 3.
Cork - UCD - Another draw? UCD are a decent side but Cork will be going all out for a win to kick start their season, maybe Georgie moved into middle of the park? Matthews will change the team about for this iirc. I can't see UCD coming away with anything here tbh.
I think we're good enough to get a point in Cork, except I just can't see Cork drawing their first five games!
We are real relegation fodder now. Billy Clery was a brilliant player for us, but no experience managing at this level, and the longer we go without a manager, the more worried I'll be. Forget Friday night; we could give Cork a rght good fright Friday week; but it is the Sligo game, and the ones following (UCD, Bray, Harps in three of the following 4 games) we have to target more than ever
Certainly looks like it will be three from four now. Harps seem to be a sinking ship and if their injury list doesn't shorten soon they could end up lagigng behind. Shields, in particular, is a huge loss for them. I think they will be going back down.
After that I think there will be an almighty scrap between ourselves, Cobh and Galway. Galway have had a poor start but are only five points away from safety. If the appointment of Kenna turns out to be a success then their stronger side should just pip ourselves and Cobh in my estimation. They badly need to beat Harps next week though, which I fancy them to.
Only advantage we have (apart from a point) is that we've been competitive in all bar one game (v Drogheda), which is more than can be said for Galway, Harps and Cobh. We'll continue to pick up points on a regular basis; will those three?
Galway utd could have won evey game this season only for defenive **** ups and tonight we keept for first clean sheet so I can see us picking up points in most games but we need to win games against teams around us if we beat harps next friday we have a good chance of staying upQuote:

Massive game in Terryland next week, a win for us and our season might take off. Still a long way to go but with three going down we need to start getting points on the board. next few weeks will tell a lot.
Coming up to half way point in the season now, transfer window to open on tuesday has many peoples thoughts changed with regards relegation.
With the personell we are getting rid of and the new players coming in im pretty confident of staying up tbh.
Our line up should be changed massively, we couldn't be as unfortunate with injuries the second half of the season as we were in the first.
UCD - Our main opposition imo, Mahon is proving once again what a quality manager he is and there is a good first 13/14 players, their main concern is how to cope if they get a few injuries/suspensions.
Galway - It will be interesting how they look squad wise after the window, Kenna to come out of retirement due to players moving on and no money to bring in replacements. Problems like that can cause upset on the piptch, it looks bleak for Galway at the minute.
Cobh - shipped 9 goals in their last 2 games and scored none, rumours of a few good signings but confidence is obviously low, Sligo at home this week will be another big test, another for the chop I think.
Rovers could be dragged into the bottom 5 if Scully keeps falling out with the players, a run of bad results again and they could be dragged in. Should be safe enough though but will not be near as comfortable as last season imo.
Galway and Cobh may as well pack their bags now from the look of things, after that it's toss a coin time between UCD and Harps, but I'll go with UCD staying up due to their experience of scrapping points from places they shouldn't be able to at all
Things could look very different after July I think. There have been persistent indications that all is not well at Sligo and they could emerge from the window a lot weaker. Both they and Shamrock Rovers should really be too good to be sucked into a relegation fight- but it could happen. Bray have done really well so far, but it's still possible that they could nosedive.
I'd agree that Galway United and Cobh Ramblers look pretty doomed, and in fairness on current form Harps are too. But as Sam mentions there will be major surgery in the window and I expect us to be a lot harder to beat in the later stages of the season. Even at that if UCD find someone to score a few goals for them we could still go down.

Rovers are far from safe there imo, we will struggle to get any points on board from our next 4 games (Pats, Cork, Sligo and Drogs) so last nights win was massive. I predict 4 points from those games (at a push, realistically 1/2 points)

Cobh, UCD, Pats, Sligo (maybe Bohs in there) - predict 6/7 points there
UCD:
Drogs, Rovers, Cobh, Bohs - possibily 4 points there.
Cobh:
Rovers, Pats, UCD, Bray - at most 1 point imo.
Galway:
Cork, Sligo, Bray, Derry - same as Cobh, 1 point at most.
Alot depends on transfer activities from next week on I supose.
