Rico still saying he is doubtful for tomorrow night, not sure if its a doubtful doubtful or an Osam is doubtful doubtful.

Fantastic deal for Cork, hopefully a sign of things to come for all of our clubs.....
Great windfall for city...hope they will spend some of it now to strengthen the team.....
Excellent deal for everyone, nice money for cork and im sure roy will be getting a tasty pay rise too soon.
Good deal. I'm happy with it especially with the add ons
Just one question though...for the remainder of the season, Will city pay Roy his current weekly wage or will they pay him the wage Fulham are giving him or do Fulham pay all/some of his wages?
Great deal to be honest. Add that to the Bennet deal and cork have nearly payed off all those tax debts at this stage :p. Any chance of a lend guys?? But seriously, super negotiating skills shown by the Cork board there. Having him for the remainder of the season is a master stroke because if you remover Roy from the equation Cork are a mid table side with no goalscorer. He could single handedly win you the league
Chance's of European golden boot? :p :D
Well if Tony Bird can win it then anything is possible :D
fantastic for roy. he's wanted a chance to prove himself at that level since he was a kid, im glad that its worked out for him and for the club, amicable and mutually beneficial.
i have to say, he's changed a fair bit since coming to city, he is stronger, more confident at winning the ball be it in the air or in a challenge, and most of all, he's managed to start finding the net the way he did in schoolboy soccer.
congrats to roy and here's hoping he's back here in the green sometime soon - mind you, he's got a few more months of banging them in before he goes anywhere! :D
Tony Bird didn't win it. He was scored like a billion goals but due t the "weighting" of leagues some good striker won it
Good luck to O'****ovan
Ah, you're right Dodge. apologies. that good striker was Ronaldo. The fat one that is

season player club (country) goals
1996/97 Ronaldo FC Barcelona (Spain) 34 (68 pts)
Tony Bird Barry Town FC (Wales) 42
I don't think the weighting system is fair - there's so few goals in our league it should be O'Donovan and Quigley that get double points. He will surely score a hatful in the Premiership when he doesn't have to contend with the negative tactics here.
Tony Bird deserved it just for being Tony Bird. Is he still playing in Wales?
Returned for a brief spell with Carmarthen back in '05 when they played Longford, but didn't figure in the line-up in either game if I remember right.
Not sure where he is now, I think I heard he moved to Merthyr Tydfil after that but I assume he's retired by now.
He always was well-liked by the fans when he played at the Vetch.
Seems to be a very good deal considering the alternatives of losing him at the end of the season with basic compensation & no add-ons. If a deal was not done not would just be constant speculation surrounding his future for the remainder of the season which would not be good. €450k will now be the new starting figure for the next player to be sold.
City have really learnt from the Doyle situation & have performed very well in recent negotiations.
Very good deal by City & showing the lessons of the Doyle saga & the advantages of professional Management staff at the club.
Will be interesting to see how long it takes Roy O'Donovan to make it into the Ireland squad... Will he be eligible for August friendly as he will officially be a Fulham player?
