Isn't the majority of teams that are involved from the Clare League ? Olympic, Rineanna, Bridge, Newmarket - surely Clare refs could be used if that's the case ? Plus it's a pre-season tournament, I would have thought whomever you wanted to ref it could ref it ?

Not allowed .. both leagues have a rule in place whatever team league is based in playing friendly / tournament ref's have to be appointed from that league .. clare league refs wont do it as they would get reported to both leagues and get in trouble..Quote:

LDMC and the refs association are a joke at this stage, whatever about being on strike over the league but stopping teams from playing friendlies is ridiculous! If a clare team is playing a limerick team ina friendly which league refs have the rights to it just out of interest?
Whoevers at home has to organise the ref so alot of limerick teams will have to travel to play friendlies in other counties due to strike.Quote:
