Is Trapatonnis' position as manager now untenable re McCarthy

I've been saying it since the start. Trap is not the man to take us forward. He is an old man trading off a reputation of things he's done over a decade ago. The fact that he has
not spoken to McCarthy, and has admitted that he doesn't even have the kids number is huge cause for concern. What sort of man-management is that? Surely a text or phone call during his injury would have been a courtesy from the manager?? More and more often traps alienating players with his stupid comments.

I think the language is a problem here. I am not sure whether a phone call between an Italian and a Scotsman, neither of whom could understand each other, would go too well. ;)

And he's also giving the press a stick to beat him with, which they've grabbed with both hands.

I think Trap came in and gave structure and organisation where there was chaos. That has got us so far which is OK, but I said at the start of the campaign that last time out was only a platform to build on. Doing the same again won't be enough to qualify this time around either. Whilst we were generally solid, we were sloppy at both ends of the pitch. More than anything I wanted to see this improved upon, but it's still the same. No progress. Missed chances and sloppy goals.

The perception is that Trap is lazy wrt scouting new talent but he's within his rights to delegate which he seems to be doing (Mick Martin watching Macedonia for example). Despite all the hysteria about not blooding talent, quite a few new faces have emerged and played themselves into contention. It's almost by stealth though because most of us have been frustrated at missed opportunities to blood players, or missed opportunities to drop some dead wood.

I'm still in favour of Trap on balance but the scales wobble from side to side in my mind.
