Scored a fine goal today for Wolves. Not sure what he did to offend O'Neill. The goal was a fine finish on his left leg, just to remind us he can play left back also.

I don't think it's necessarily that O'Neill has anything against him, just that Cyrus Christie's career was in the ascendancy when O'Neill was looking for a back-up for Coleman, while Doherty was not yet established. And as Christie has done well for us (and is still playing at the same level as Doherty), O'Neill's been reluctant to change mid-stream. However, I think at this point that Doherty deserves a shot to prove himself over the next twelve months.
Do you think Christie has done well for us? Overall, I don't. Any home match he's played he has worried me (Serbia, Austria, Wales when he came in, Denmark).
I'm also referring to Doherty's exlusion from competitive squads (up until Denmark) and his lack of a friendly cap.
Overall I don’t think Christie has done too bad for us . Doherty deserved some chances and it is a bit of a mystery why he never got them .
Don't think Doherty has really done anything to annoy O'Neill. He was never going to replace Coleman when he was available. When Coleman was injured against Wales, Christie had established himself in the squad, had already scored (I know, it was Gibraltar, but still a goal) and scored again against Uruguay in June when Doherty was unavailable. There was no friendly for the management to give Doherty a chance in August, and he was never going to be thrown in at the deep end in any of the games at the end of year, except maybe Moldova. It's just unfortunate timing really.
He was barely even in the enlarged squad though Tets
Got the only goal against Ipswich today - with Wolves looking on course for promotion, Doherty must surely be given the opportunity to impress in March
Particularly with Christie not featuring as regularly at Boro under Pulis. Doherty really can't be over-looked anymore.
Why would you think that? A player at the top of his game who is on an upward curve towards the Premier League and who can play a bit of football. Has all the ingredients to make Martin look elsewhere. No, in all honesty, he should get a shout for the March friendly along with Declan Rice.
Would be nice to see Doherty, Rice and Cunningham blooded in defence. Throw them in alongside Duffy and you have a back 4 aged 26, 19, 27 and 26.
Wolves have beaten Reading 3-0 at home tonight. Doherty scored two.

Two nice finishes
He has to get rid of them gloves though
Doherty on his wing back position with Wolves and his Ireland opportunity taking longer to come than it probably should have - https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2018...ill-at-wolves/
"It's your dream to play for your country. I want to be in every squad I possibly can be.".
He doesn't even say "my" country. And he wants to be in every squad. What a self-absorbed mercenary.
Or maybe I just need counselling.
He's joking.
At least he didn't say "the" country, Stutts.
