Anyone know when further tickets are going on sale?, people were told they were sold out on Friday night
I have to agree with whiteeagle here - anybody who wanted a ticket got a ticket. The club sorted out a singing section. We are playing good football , in a cup final and have financial stability. Fair play to the committee of Sligo Rovers. A hard working crowd who have done a great job in difficult time.
Ok, there may have been as F**k up on thursday night and if anyone was left without a ticket , it would be a disaster but Kevin L ensured that anyone who wanted a ticket on here was sorted out.
For someone to use this as an excuse not to buy lotto tickets and season tickets is in my opinion a lame excuse and i wonder if they really are true rovers supporters at the end of the day.
Rovers till we die(unless i dont get the ticket of my choice in the cup final)
Surely they have to put in more bucket seats after selling 4,500 tickets within 24 hours.
It would be a yet another big mistake by the club to ignore the hurt and anger felt by the likes of Showgies in relation to how the tickets were distributed and make no mistake these are 'true Rovers supporters'.
All Showgies is saying is that the club should apologise for the mistakes - as well intentioned as they were - that were made.
They are pretty handy to pick up in Dublin if anyone is living there or up that way.
Tickets will also be on sale from a number of locations throughout Fingal from Saturday, including:

i have a ticket for the game so anything i say can also be dismissed a whinging, but i have a serious gripe about the ticket selling on thursday night. last year us loyal supporters were putting our hands in our pockets to try to keep the club afloat buying draw tickets & paying into games even though we had season tickets.
we get to a cup final & we start selling handfuls of tickets to people who do not support the rovers on a regular basis. sorry but that was a big 2 fingers to our loyal fans. i'm sure everyone who wants a ticket will get one & that is great, but to me that isn't the point.
Season ticket holders / 400 club members etc should have been given preferential treatment.
as far as i'm concerned the club just need to acknowledge that there has been a mistake.
Ps - this is not a dig at Kevin L. Kevin has gone above & beyond the call of duty to sort everyone out with tickets, fair play to him.
People who are aggrieved with the situation are not questioning whether or not they get a ticket. Everyone will get one as I've said in a previous post. However, people have a right to feel aggrieved or hard done by when the handling of the ticketing transpired to be different to what was expected.
I dont buy this "real supporter" thing that I've heard numerous times in the past 20 years in relation to somebody having a problem. Clubs like Sligo Rovers are in the public space and have to deal with PR. It's always give money, be quiet and dont complain. that's rubbish. People's grievances should be addressed and the club should be seen doing it, instead of sniping back with quips. Your post is typical of the "put up shut up" attitude that has prevailed for too long.
The club is run by valiant volunteers who keep the club running and we can rightly say we are stable. The effort and commitment shown by them is second to none and I know personally people involved and I often wonder how they do it. Nobody is questioning any of that. But post's like yours help nobody especially not the club. The ticketing didnt work out, people got miffed by it, the club arent happy with it either, individuals have apologised as much as they can (Kevin L has been as transparent as he could), but if supporters like showgies would like a full public apology (a quick statement on a website would be it all it would take) then he has a right to ask for it. And that would be it. Regulars like this should be looked after, and not be derided and labelled by posts like yours as not being loyal supporters of our club. That is wrong and uncalled for.
Pretty spot on post....although i think its great that there is so much interest in the final and the club in general at the mo i think its only right that the regular fans got looked after first...
The FANS that go to all home games, that go to EA Sports cup games on a bank holiday when most dont bother, that go to televised Setanta cup games when most dont bother, that go to mid week games in lashing rain when most dont bother, that travel at great expense all around the country when most dont bother.....i certainly dont think its unreasonable for these people to feel they are entitled to be looked after first on the ocassion of the biggest day in the clubs recent history.
and just to clarify - i'm delighted that there is so much interest in the club at the moment & i sincerely hope that everyone who wants a ticket gets a ticket. hopefully a fair percentage of the not so regular punters get hooked & come back to the showgies on a more regular basis for many years to come. it was great to see the place packed for the cup semi final & wouldn't it be great to have the placed packed for every home game.
An apology is nothing but words, as the old saying goes "action speaks louder than words". The club could pay for this next season with disillusioned supporters not renewing season tickets.
That is a strong possibilty.
However, I fear that the clubs attitude could be, "well if we win the cup, there will be a bigger demand next season, so perhaps we could live with losing a few regulars".
Chairman, Dermot Kelly wrote about the loyal support the club have in his progamme notes, the ball is in court for a resolution, I suppose.
tbh, I cant fully understand this aggrevance that some 'real fans' are geting so worked up about.
Surely the fact that the club has fought so hard, and successfully, to ensure that every fan (regular or not) will get a ticket shows their comittment to all supporters, no matter what their level of loyality.
Now if their was a smaller allocation of tickets like we first thought, then I would understand, but that is not the case.
it was a fook up but but if at the start of the year someone said we will get to the final but ya have to sit un an uncovered stand we would all jump at the chance. lets try to be positive. the club is run by essentially unqualifed (not saying as an insult) unpaid volunteers and thurs nite they prob thought they were not doing anything too bad. out of all the people there i bet the ammount of non season ticket holders was miminal . the ones selling were trying to give the season th a few extra and most people would have passed on extra tickets to people who deserved it. i got one extra and gave it to a nsth who goes to most games and even drove us to cork. wouldnt it be worse if we got no ticket. we need to kill the negativity towards the club they made a mistake, we all done it one time or another. when we put in the amount of effort and time they do then maybe we can criticise but for now lets move on and put our efforts in backing the team and creating a positive atmosphere for 2 weeks time. come on the bit o red.............
what we need to do now is put this to bed. ok the club made a few mistakes but were at all times doing their best in very trying circumstances. lets move on from it now and get into a positive mode for the cup final
Lads,
The Club have issued a statement re The Cup Final Tickets and hopefully it will be up on our Website this evening.
I'll be back later on to try and sort out some of your queries.
