Liverpool won't be within 10 points of Utd by then so it will be irrelevant.
There is a large minority who are not jumping up and down at the return of the "green Judas" personally I'm happy he's back but until defoe was signed off for the rest of the season I didn't see the sense in it
Oh happy days :d:d:d:d:d:d
I wonder who took his spot in the car park and whether he will get it back?
What number will he be?
I heard that jaime o. hara left a number 7 liverpool shirt in his locker, I guess he will never want to see number 7 again anyway.
Liverpool havnt had a good number 7 in awhile
He was 7 at Leeds, Inter and Liverpool and he was crap so never agian IMO.
More fool, Robbie!
But then the grass wasn't greener when he went to play with the big boys.
Just hope it sees an improvement in his abject form for Ireland ??
Played for two big clubs in his career and has failed utterly at both (circumstances will be forgotten in time). Taking the Irish glasses off for a second he'll have to go down as one of the great Premiership flops surely?
Benitez was just on BBC radio saying that Keane couldn't handle the pressure of a big club.
It's not as if Benitez did anything to take the pressure off him. My opinion of Benitez is even lower today than it was yesterday.
I think any no. 10 type forward would struggle at Liverpool under Benitez. It's all about Torres and Gerrard up there with no room for anyone else with a strong personality.
Dirk Kuyt is mediocrity personified (though his early season form was very good). Ryan Babbel is a talented player who has done eff all at Liverpool and Benitez' full back purchases have typically been rubbish. It seems that Benitez is prepared to treat some players differently to others.
By the way, Robbie is nowhere near a favourite Irish player of mine so I'm resaonably objective.
I'm sure Keane will be heartbroken, I didn't realise ye were an item
We may not have a major tournament looming but we got major qualification games comming up against Italy and Bulgaria and I for one am glad that he will be getting first team football rather than rotting away in the Liverpool reserves. Its true that he had some poor games but even when he played well he was virtually guaranteed to be subbed around the 60 minute mark whilst players playing much worse than him like Kuyt were untouchable. Even when he started to hit a bit of form and score 3 goals in 2 games, what does Benitez do? Bench him. The final straw was dropping him from the bench against Chelsea, it was obvious that Keane was never going to get a fair shot under Benetez and in my opinion it was the best thing for both him and Ireland to get the hell out of there.
He will be 29 in the summer and he probably only has a few years left at the top of his game, he can't be wasting half a season sitting in the reserves hoping that Betitez will be gone in the summer and what if he doesn't go? time is precious at this stage of his career and for me its a no-brainer to move to a club where you will get first team football. It may be the easy option but IMO it is also the smart option, I also don't give a crap how he is remembered at Anfield, all that matters to me is that he will be sharp for the upcomming qualifiers.
Great post Morbo, hit the nail on the head.
It's like he never left.
Robbie will captain Spurs whenever Ledley King isn't playing which won't be very often!
