Me saying that he's after getting significant pay rise isn't sour grapes, it's a fact. He was a great servant. There are lads that aren't half the player he is coining it in Limerick, he is too and fair play to him, but would have been good to see him stay in the league.

You'd wonder why a lot more English clubs are not trying to buy up LoI clubs, with 4 (or 5) loanees possible for good young players to benefit fsenior football, maybe European exposure, mature some kids sending them away from home. Not massive money in relative terms. It would only be Irish clubs' rejection of being tied in to having to play players, something Id agree with myself.
Ruairi Keating has left Pats by mutual consent and signed back for Cork. Never worked out for him this season but I wish him all the best, a likeable lad. On the plus side for Pats it frees up one of the bigger wages in the squad as well as one of the long term contracts
didnt think it would work for him at pats but hard for him to turn a move like that down. delighted to have him back either way as we've missing a no.9 all season. just another 8 starters to sign before 2025.

Didn't see that one coming though! Hadn't heard anything about him leaving being on the cards. Fair to say Keating didn't live up to expectations but at the same time I don't think it's been his fault for much of the season as we just haven't really created many chances for anyone. I'd be shocked if we don't have someone coming in to replace him given the options left at the club now.

I think Jake Keegan is the only striker since Fagan to hit 10. Others honourable mentions include Bisto Flood who did it while Fagan was at the club, Conan Byrne and Matty Smith also did but they were both wingers (although Smith did fill in up front when Ronan Coughlan was out injured), Forrester last year from midfield. Really is a bit of a cursed position for the club and not for want of trying as they have brought big names in too but none have worked as a long term solution under any of the different managers in that timeQuote:
