True sorry geysir it was an opinion,, many footballers are promising as youths but its producing it on that big stage that counts and clearly he cant,, wenger is seldom wrong about players (maybe bently and hes not even that great) so if he didnt think he was good enough then hes prob right
He was on the bench in Dennis Bergkamp's testimonial as part of the "Arsenal Future" side in the first half, so was Joe O'Cearuill: http://www.arsenal.com/match/report/...-1-ajax-report
I thought he came on for a few minutes, but not according to that report. Mind you, according to that report, there were no substitutions at all.
Lucan originally, and then he moved to Terenure, AFAIK. Think he was in Terenure College for a while.
He had a goal featured on SoccerAM as part of their Showboat segment.
Just scored against Rangers!
supposed to have been a cracker too
The reporter on Soccer Saturday said he flicked the ball over 2 defenders and then lifted it over the keeper
1625: Anthony Stokes takes the ball down on the edge of the box and lifts past Allan McGregor with a superb shot. What a brilliant piece of skill. That goal is well worth seeing again when the highlights are available on our website at 6pm on Sunday. Game on!
Wouldnt hold my breath on this lad until he sorts out his attitude, involved in a late night brawl at a nightclub in Edinburgh only the weekend before last well at least that was the way it was reported.
I agree that he needs to cop on and not be getting into trouble but at the same time it's part of that same attitude that makes him try things like chipping the ball over 2 defenders and scoring. Don't we all have a soft-spot for a skilfull, maverick, Stan Bowles-type player...

Great finish with the left foot. The fact that it was against Rangers makes it that much sweeter.
Stack, Miller and Stokes all played 90 minutes for Hibs with Kurtis Byrne on the bench.
I can't remember an SPL team having that many Irish (Republic of) players since Bonner, Morris and McCarthy in the late eighties.
