Congrats to everyone at the club! Great news for Irish football,If every club could do the same the league would be in a much better place!
I see recently up the North alot of grant money from the goverment was made available for Gaa,soccer and rugby. windsor park is to be redevolped as is a few of the leagues clubs.
Pity our goverment didnt make money available to our league when there was plenty about. Cant see any money going into the league from the goverment in these times!
The flood lights in Turners Cross are getting an over haul at the moment. Due to be finished in the next few weeks, held up initially by high winds. It is meant to increase the amount of light given out significantly.
Was up in Shamrock Park (Portadown) for our recent Setanta Cup game and they have a class main stand and another nice stand behind one of the goals. Fantastic facilities and from talking to a few lads up there the British government gives them a massive 80% of funding for new developments. Real pity its not the same down here.
A big part of the problem NOW is LOI / Football clubs at all levels not getting the grants they applied for and were awarded.
Newry have a nice wee ground too, pity that less than 200 fans take advantage of it every other week.Makes you wonder if having great facilities is the silver bullet for the LOI ??
The guy that owns Newry is a multi-millionaire Dunny,he will buy in big players to get them out of that leauge.Kinda like Derry done. ;)
In case anyone hasn't seen them, old thread with the stadium plans.

Jesus wept! What is wrong with this country? Eight years to build a 6000+ football ground? Just think of all the revenue foregone because of delays (most of which I presume were not Harps' fault)...
It's a good news story when the league needs all of them it can get. Here's to your shiny new stadium!!:drink:
Will it be built in phases or all at the same time?
In fairness, Harps is the kind of club where a stadium like that should thrive.
From the Limerick FC facebook page. The new look Markets Field. Phase 1 to be completed by March.
Final Capacity to be 8,100.

That looks class! Is the stand to the right of that picture the existing one from the greyhounds?
Great to see. Hopefully gets built on schedule.
Any better images?
As I say these are just the pictures from the Facebook page. I'm sure the website will have better ones up soon.

When you say Phase 1 is supposed to be completed by March, what exactly is Phase 1?
Phase one is to re-roof the existing stand(on the right hand side).
Have new floodlights in.
Have the bar extended and renovated
Install club shop
Install club offices the red behind the goal there
Install club museum
Install dressing rooms under existing stand

Is this at the planning stage or does it not need it?
Looks fantastic, This combined with Premier league football could make Limerick one of the biggest clubs in the country
Very impressed with the underage structures being put in place. With Limerick, Finn Harps, Rovers and others maybe we are finally moving in the right direction
Looks absolutely quality. Fair play to all involved in that one. As Hoopy said, looks like a lot of clubs starting to go in the right direction now. Great to see and some more quality infrastructure could see a rise in popularity with the league.
Unfortunately bluewhite you wouldn't be the first fan to post a nice shinny 3D image of a proposed ground up here. Going by other clubs This could be a lot longer process than people think. That said a good design and plan is a start at least and best of luck with it.
