It's the most ridiculous film ever created. Quite funny though how the scientist couldn't shoot a girl in a swimming pool. The new film is a second sequence where it goes back before he tried the experiment with dogs. Dunno how it'll work though, there was no mention in the first film about a 12 person centipede. :goat:Quote:

Watched an Australian movie called "Horseman", it's a pretty brutally violent revenge-action-thriller about a father pursuing the men who put his drug-addled daughter in a porn and then left her to die, I liked it, would give it a 7 out of 10.
Watched The Town, dir. ben affleck set in Boston.
Interesting enough, maybe a good enough cinema experience, but the plot is a poor man's Heat.
I have a friend from Boston, he pointed me to an excellent 70's film set in Boston 'Friends of Eddie Coyle' with Robert Mitchum.
With the snow keeping schools limited on students I had 3 for my classes on Thursday and let them choose a film to watch. Unfortunately they chose the New Karate Kid remake. Honestly my soul was destroyed by the end of it. It just destroyed all that was good about the original.

Cracking Brazilian film about the special police they send into the slums and about how much of a ******* you have to be to keep going in the job.
Tron: Legacy. Really trippy to watch in 3D, possibly the best use of 3D I've seen so far, including Avatar.
More of a continuation of the story of the characters in the first film than an actual sequel (if that makes sense). Definitely check it out.
Lottery Ticket - starring Bow Wow, Ice Cube - touching movie that examines the perils of winning $370m in the lotto while living in the hood. A little bit overacted in places. 9.5/10
It being Chrimbo got through a few recently.
Kick-Ass: I really expected to like it. But I just didn't. The first half skims by enjoyably enough, but the second hour is a total mess, overlong and over cooked. It was well acted and made (and, yes, Hit Girl and Big Daddy are fantastic characters) but Ms.Jonathan Ross should've re-drafted the screenplay maybe three times before submitting. The characterisations (not particuarly likeable in the first place) are all over the place by the credits roll. Didn't really know who I was supposed to be rooting for and didn't care. Dissapointing.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World: Conversely, really enjoyed this. The story is pencil thin, the character doesn't really appear to go anywhere and suffers from Michael Cera-itis (he's a doe-eyed, insufferable layabout) but the visuals, gags and large cast really keep it cracking along. Definitely one for male geeks - natural I'd like it.
Cyrus - Simple, short, quite sweet film. Very nicely made with understated performances from the cast (in particular John C.Reilly and the sometimes overblown Jonah Hill). Definitely worth a watch.
Monsters vs Aliens: For kids, but passed the time.
Fantastic Mr.Fox: Definitely not really for kids, which is a shame since source material is a kids classic, but still quite a cool film. Probably depends how you feel about Wes Anderson and his hyper-literate, off-the-wall style (see Royal Tenenbaums, Aquatic Life With Steve Zizzou). I really like his stuff so it worked for me, and the animated visuals are just lovely.
Saw "The other guys", one of the funniest movies I've seen in awhile,..."Aim for the bushes!"....finally got around to seeing "Into the Wild", pretty good, although like alot of people I already knew the ending, I like Eddie Vedder, but there was too much Eddie Vedder on the soundtrack.
Watched the 1979 movie "Hard Core" with George C.Scott, pretty good, some memorable sound bites.
Saw "Love and other drugs", set around the time Pfizer released Viagra with Jake Gyllenhaal as a salesman who falls in love with free spirited Anne Hathaway.
It's not a bad film, as romantic comedies with a touch of drama go. Both leads get naked quite a bit, Hathaway a little more, although I probably paid more attention to her.
Could have cut every scene with his dot-com-boom millionaire brother and it wouldn't change the film a bit.
Bubba Ho-Tep,Entertaining,bizarre film set in an old folks home in Texas that's being used by an Egyptian mummy for food by eating the souls of the residents.
The main character is an Elvis impersonator (or is it the real Elvis?) who gives the mummy plenty to think about. 7.5/10
the incomparable bruce campbell of evil dead fame! love that guy though b. ho tep didn't really stack up for me. too much expectation on my part i imagine. i've seen a few movies lately, let's see, out of five stars:Quote:

and some others.. plenty of bogey in there but i have to say 'who's afraid of virginia woolf' has two amazing performances by richard burton and (especially) elizabeth taylor who prior to this i'd always regarded as just an attractive classic actress. i'd seen bits of her before (ahem) but nothing on the order of magnitude of this performance. she's insane in it. after that 'the big sleep' and 'seconds' are very good, particularly the latter if you're into disturbing, visually arresting, paranoid, menacing future-corporation movies.

Finally got around to watching 'Moon'. Phenomenal movie, best I've seen in a fair ol' while.
Seen the Four Lions today, about 4 Muslim guys from the Uk who are planning a to blow up something in London. As expected from the good reviews, it was brilliant, and i was half hoping that the guys wud actually achieve their objectives in the end - i guess that's the genius of Morris. Loved it
4 lions is quality. Rubber dingy rapids bro.
I've got Sky movies & a movie rental subscription with Blockbuster at mo so have watched a lot of crap recently.
Law abiding citizen - makes my top 10 worst films of all time. 1/10
Righeous Kill - what a waste of Pacino and De Niro. My dog could have written a better script. 2/10
Get him to the Greek - Could have been so funny.....average. 5/10
The Ghost - better off reading the book. 6/10
She's out of my league - lovely blonde in it and a few funny bits 5/10
Brooklyn's Finest - enjoyed this. Loads of 'the Wire' cameos as well. 8/10
Toy Story 3 - 8/10
