Good result for us today keeps us ticking away . Down 2 starters after our tough battle with Coachford last week but fair play to lads that stepped in . We started a bit slow (don't know why maybe few positional changes etc ) and we found ourselves 1 nil down after 5 min's when Castleview won ball in middle of park and after some neat play scored with a good finish . That woke us up and we started to get a grip on midfield and back 4 tightned up so we found ourselves with the lion's share of the ball we hit the crossbar twice and had some good shots which in fairness to Castleview keeper he stopped well. When goal came to make it 1 all we got a bit of luck as ball was crossed in winger miss hit and sailed over keeper into top corner unlucky for Castleview . So 1 all we made it 2 1 when keeper dropped a cross and our centre forward followed up and was dragged down by keeper for a peno made it 2 1 at half time . Second half Castleview dug deep and had few half chances but we added a 3 game over we thought but all credit to Castleview they made it 2 3 from a corner headed out but meet by Castleview centrehalf on the volley was a good goal . 3 2 with 20 to go but 5 min's later we added a 4 from a good cross in and a nice header from our left winger to make it 4 2 . Job done 3 points happy days . Next week we have Kilumney at home sure to be a good game . Fair play to Castleview today with a few older players added to that squad they would do well as they all good ball players . Happy St Patricks Day to all enjoy the session tomorrow :)
Thought i had seen alot of things in football but I seen a new one today, an ex manager of a club out watching a match and taking the **** and laughing at his ex players . Never ever seen that before. Bad form EK !!
Waterloo in the next round for us of the corinthians handy spin
Killer was that game involving our fai quarter finalists
Ye will need to get a coach for that game god no 9 haha
I might walk with herself and the small one
Make sure ye have the hi vests on them terrible road up that is
I have to comment back to this.thats not true that person your trying to slate was actually cheering blarney st on as he was on our line in second half and encouraging the streets players.easy to knock a man on this . When u give the service he gave to a club come back to me
Sorted so it will be a cracker local derby might be worth a view I'd say
Well Tekkers you didn't hear him in the first half !! Wen he's was behind the street goal
i know for a fact thats a load of crap, the service he gave to Blarney street just because a fella is laughung doesnt mean hes laughing at whats going on, on the pitch.. get a grip killer will ya, and since when does antything Blarney street related concern you?? made up crap is all it is
Not blarney st ref football in general concerns me !! I have a grip ref ;)
Thought we where going to give it ago and post match reports ?????not the other stuff
spot on oldlegs
id say 1for is on the phone wrapping up his deals for the start of nxt season
Don was about right in posting only the score. Barry Peelo was at the double header in the Faira........and he didnt see two classics!!
Pitch was a but sticky, but both teams were off! We didnt start well at all, and Kanturk deservedly took the lead. A second error by us made it 2 nil. We missed two great chances in a poor half for us. We were much better second half and had more of the game. We finished a lovely move five minutes in, but gave away another soft one. Both teams could have scored more before we made it 3-2. Late on, we had two glorious chances to equalise but to no avail. An off day, we move on.
well killer what was said in the first half? i was standing right next to eddie today love to know how we were laughing at the lads when we still hang around with all of them. the laughing and joking was all with geaney who isnt even related to a goal keeper. if anything it says more about the guy that hes still out supporting them. tricksey id love to know what extra gear you thought ye had. if the street had a keeper and a fella who could put the ball in the net ye were in big trouble today. eyes on next week most definitley id say. best of luck next weekend i hope ye do them you know the reasons why.
A quick question lads...if a player signs with a clubs b team can he play with their a team the odd time...i know years ago it was once you play 5 games you could not drop down anymore but I tought they changed it to signing for one team.
B players can play 5 games with A team, if they play 6 they cannot play B games after that.
Any report on Innish Carrig game Radio or Owl ???
To be fair, that wouldn't be the style of the ex Blarney Street manager! The split may not have been pleasant but he worked hard while he was there. Some people wouldn't laugh at any stand in goalie but no poison I'm sure.
Have any of the top four met before yesterday? Gonna be very interesting but I think momentum is with Coachford. Love to see our old pal Skilly win a medal. Two guys I coached are with Pierce but first season up will be hard. Park lads have a champions class about them as yesterday showed. Of course, we gained from Kilumney's managerial change but still was not a nice thing to do. Fixtures lottery will play its part as will Oldlegs and 1for. Coachford to win it.
My rants about refs continues........the guy yesterday got stuff wrong - he is human. However, a high percentage right and it's the way you handle the game. Respect for the players and a word in the ear instead of a card on occasion. Sets a tone for the game. Good ref
Oldlegs, it was a great game yesterday between ourselves and Innishvilla, we dominated the opening half hour and should have been two up, but were guilty of missing good chances. Innishvilla came more into the game as the tempo slowed a bit, they created a few half chances in the 10 mins before half time, we took the lead after 40 from a free kick. Second half Innishvilla equalised on 50 with a break away goal from a corner we had, Innishvilla were well on top during this period, and got their second goal very contraversially, our centre forward was pushed off the ball, when I say push it was from a defender that hit him so hard he banged his head off ground before he could get his hands out, ref looking straight at it, put his hand out to suggest play on advantage, even though they got the ball, ball was played straight to box where their player was taken down for penalty, 2-1 Innishvilla, we regained composure with 25 to go and got a deserved equaliser with about ten to go, we hit the bar and post in the final quarter too, and we felt like we should have gotten the 3pts, but was still a very good game. Was very disappointed with ref on his decision that led to penalty, and was even more disappointed in how he explained why he left the foul on our player go after the match. But other than that the ref had a good game.
Thanks Radio a lot to play for in prem A .
few big games next weekend ..best of luck to the village lads in the cup final .park v coachford the glen v kilreen .
