Thanks. I did get along quite a way in doing that but then fell short as I'm operating off Vista I think. Thanks for the advice though. I've learned for the future. I should have listened in Tuesday rather than hope to watch it back.
Unlucky Sligo. I hope St Pats can make a contest of the tie tonight. An early home goal would be nice.
Disappointing result for Rovers. Learning curve I guess though Shamrock Rovers did well last year. Pat's game is over already as well. Disappointing night.
Pat's players earning their bonuses I see.
Goal for Karpaty
Some fans shouting abuse at Pat's players...throw your wallet away and you might get the ball... etc
A poor 48 hours for the league. Add in the Super Cup debacle and it's been one hell of a week!
Love what they're saying - "if you're going to win, win gracefully. Must be something about teams in green and white."
This is decent commentary, a bit blinkered but honest.
I enjoyed the commentary for the first few games but it's gotten a bit boring and predictable by now.
Sligo were just not great tonight. The whole idea of lumping the ball up the field at every opportunity to Doyle once he came on was never going to work.
Goals were given away cheaply and they fell asleep after the first went in. There was a clear gulf in class though and the Ukrainian side were excellent with every pass inch perfect.
Haven't seen any of the Pats game yet, but I would hope they get some sort of result out of the game. They're as good as out now but still it would be nice for them to nick a 2-1 win on the night.
Goals from the Sligo game, hadn't seen them myself as the stream was very patchy.

Disappointing conclusions to all three ties, hopefully Pats can at least nick a goal . . .
Disaster for Sligo wonder if they'll be asking their fans not to use their season tickets again...
Totally outclassed. 2-0 flattered us. Some difference to this time last week.
Pats equalize 56' McMillan
I think this is the extra step that they will struggle to ever reach really.
there is quite a gulf in class.
Can only hope the draws are lucky to them over the next few years and who knows...
The coefficient points alone will be handy
Watching the Hearts match on another stream. They look fitter & stronger than LOI, but no more skillful
2 v 1 to Karpaty now.
3-1 karpaty.. game over.. sounded like they outclassed them all over the pitch.
So finished 3-1 on the night. The Ukrainian league isn't ranked 8th in Europe for no reason. Both the sides who won tonight would be confident of getting to the EL Group stages at the very least.
Full time. Pats lost 3.1 Its a tough station this European lark. I was watching Stoke's game earlier and they made hard work of it and they pay big wages compared to our league.
Hearts of course will have a full-time fitness coach and a full-time physio not to include a state of the art fitness suite - and as pros they'll have more training time which includes free weight programs and resistance machine workouts. A lot of the Pat's lads would be part-time I'd say? I'd say part-timers training will be mainly tactical work and skill drills, etc.
Plucky effort from the LOI, but ultimately lagging way behind the talented ball-playing Iceland league.
LOI 3 wins 3 draws - coeff 1.125
LOIceland 5 wins 1 draw - coeff 1.375
(including a hammering dished out to champion league specialists Zilina and an emphatic home win against Norway's Rosenburg.
Really - disaster? I'm not a Sligo fan but a bit of money made, improvements to the ground, european experience, maybe a few more fans gained, etc is fairly acceptable, and going out to a pretty decent Ukranian outfit is no shame.
Also as they are chasing the title with yourselves, Derry and Pat's would you not have wished the two sides progressed tonight instead of now being able to concentrate on the league?
Lets be fair, the tie was over after the first leg in Trondheim. I'll give you the Zilina home leg though. That was a good result against the odds. KR got a good hiding at home against Dinamo Tbilisi, while 2 of the wins were against Faroese opposition. Just giving the facts;)
Who was the lad saying these Ukrainian teams were average enough?
Would agree with this, there was a gap between Pats & their opponents.
Over the two legs, Sligo were more guilty of not taking chances, the gap was not huge.
Rovers were unlucky with getting Copenhagen in the draw, they are now the top seeds left on that side of the CL draw.
However looking at their opponents in the next round, I can't see where the win could come from. Austria Wien may be the pick:

Was hoping against hope 1 or more of the LOI teams would get through this week or at least run their opponents close but class seemed to tell in all 3 ties. Coefficient isn't going that well but really it doesn't tell the whole story with Sligo starting so late in the competition and Bohs not being in a good state.
29th in the coefficient a season or two ago was as high as we'll go for a while. Even if we slip down further it just means that 2 teams will start in the 1st round which give a much better opportunity of picking up points. We'll probably fluctuate in the 30's for the next few years.
Don't know the ins and outs of it but in terms of the club coefficient I'd imagine Shamrock Rovers and Pats should be seeded in the first couple of rounds if they are in Europe next season. Sligo can get through some of the early rounds too and Derry have a decent team and have usually represented the league well.
Also I don't think the draw this season was overly kind in the Europa considering our seeding. It'll be interesting to see who Shamrock Rovers get tomorrow.
Disappointing results but I have to agree with this. The Ukrainian league is 8th for a reason and produced the UEFA Cup winner in '09. It would have been great to have one other club in the draw for tomorrow but I guess other clubs have more of a progression to make.
No surprises we lost, completely different level to us. We didn't play our best but we still wouldn't have bet them. Ref was terrible too.
Just hope we can get our minds right for league games now and not get a European hangover.
Imagine if Derry got to group stages, would cost ye a fortune having to pay players two seperate contracts in the 'off season'.
We made Copenhagen work for their progression, and competed with them for most of the tie. Last man standing in Europe again.Quote:

From a financial side, maybe a team from Germany for tv rights. Otherwise, one of the English or Scottish sides could draw a big crowd (if home leg was moved) Sevilla, Roma or Lazio would also be a nice draw
If I was to pick a side to face, I'd go for Birmingham. In the Championship now. Season just about to start so maybe a good time to play them and spring a surprise. Would also draw some interest from the Irish "Football" public and hopefully on the box.
