i dont think that comes as a shock he hasnt had much joy with results lately .corbaly face an up hill battle ever year.for some reason they cant get it togther at top flight football they produce some great players.but i dont think the players out there have any heart they are just happy to play ever sunday,im not saying they dont try but they dont have the winning mentally. like most of guys there age in other teams. maybe because there was never a great team junior team in corbaly for this generation to look up.thats just my opionin
See's It.
Even at the highest level in top flight football the most accomplished of players often have to "drive the ball long" when clearing their lines,
I'm merely stating that he can "drive the ball" a lot longer than most (whether or not it stays between the white lines or not, who cares as long as your lines are clear).!!!!!!
As the old saying goes "The opposition cant score from the edge of their own box, or when the ball is out of play".......Now thats typical Geraldines talk..:p
Pike lack pace in crucial areas and therefore will not win FAI Junior Cup.
As for money who cares if they pay players? They have a big clubhouse and club lotto and seem pretty self-sufficient. Its not as if they are using the tax payers money so dont see what all the fuss is over. Im sure every player would prefer to win a MJ or FAI with their local club but this is clearly unrealistic so what harm is there in wanting a bit of success in a players short career?
Mitresize5, Shanman2 & Summervilleman, really do appreciate your suggestions. One snag not based in Ireland. If any of your suggested contacts would be genuinly interested in chatting to me , would you be kind enough to act as intermediaries and pm me contact details, and when convenient for them to be contacted.
Though oldest clubs (Prospect & Shelbourne) in city take it a while since they've been top dogs on local scene. If correct Prospect , Munster Junior Cup Runn/up 1926/27, Shelbourne 1959/60.
Enright McGarry Mitchell Purcell lack pace in my opinion.
This is from watching them over a long period. Hence why they have not won FAI Cup and struggle to keep clean sheets against better opposition.
Dont get me wrong im not saying they are not good players i just think this hampers them from winning the top trophy as i believe you need pace to win FAI Cups.
Bit harsh. This is only our second season up in the premier division, do you expect us to have won the league already or something? last year we finished in the top half of the table. It certainly wasnt an uphill battle. This year fair enough we are in a bad position but we have been very unlucky with the results so far. We were awful in the first game of the season against s'ville but besides that Pike were the only team that deserved to beat us so far.
any results from todays games?
pike v boro off....pitch waterlogged...pity pike were not at home the game would have went ahead:p:p:

In fairness they do produce some fine players for the boro every year
credit where its due...
Hello All,
I know this Premier thread but I wanted just make a point about the weather yesterday.
I think the LDMC have a lot to answer for making people travel yesterday. It was a disgrace. The weather forecast for the weekend was well known and they should have made a decision on Saturday to call off all games .
I know they leave it up to the home teams to make a decision but I feel they should have made the decision in the interest of all involved and avoiding people having to travel on one of the worst weekends in a long time.
I know we had people travelling long distances to get back for our game and its just not good enough to have people out making journeys that are not necessary.......
Hopefully "the powers that be" might learn for the future !! although I have my doubts as probably cared very little as they were nicely tucked up in there beds while the rest of us were out on the roads travelling to games that had little or no chance of being on.
Anyways gripe for the day over... Back to football.
