Well after Steve McClaren Roy Keane looks like a great signing, mind you who wouldn't.
However a certain Karl Robinson (who?) is 1/2 to take the job so it seems that there is something
going on there, he has only managed Milton Keynes Dons before and he is only 30 which would make
him the youngest manager in the league.
I think most fans would have Billy Davies back as McClaren has made him look like a genius.
The way Ipswich are going under Jewell now will not help Roy get another job close to the top in english football. If he is lucky enough to get another chance he better perform in it as it will be the last chance he will get in the english game. I suppose there will always be a clamour for him to get the Irish team job, but as Steve Stauton proved you sometimes do not need any track record to get that.
Are Ipswich under Jewell any less erratic than they were under Keane?

Once you get a club promoted from the C'ship you'll always be in the frame for any decent job at that level.... Not a huge leap really....
Mentioned by NI fans along with Michael O'Neill and Jim Magilton for the soon to be NI managers job vacancy as a contender. Not beyond the bounds Keane taking the job if offered.
Keane is now favourite for the forest job with most bookies at about 6/4.

I'm a Forest fan but it's true that they are still living off of their glory days from the late 70's and early 80's and the new manager needs to aware of that he will have to try to live up to the expectations of a so-called "big" club with a relativly small budget.
This is not an unusual situation for many clubs in the Championship but he needs to be willing to work under these conditions and I guess Keane doesn't have the temperment for that because his ego will take a battering.
Watching Roy on ITV Champions League coverage...would be hilarious to see him and Dunphy together on RTE especially given their history.
He's big, he's bad and he could be back in management!

OF, if you stopped halfway you missed the best part. Read it again and check out the stuff about him trying to buy a ticket for a Wigan game without identifying himself. Security is called and he leaves, bizarre stuff.
I think there's some irony in that a guy who clearly takes things very seriously does nothing but create incredibly comical situations...even if they can end up being a bit sad ultimately.
