Are maches going ahead today? It loks like it froze outside again last night and the roads are really dangerous.
All Fixtures scheduled for today(st, stephens day) are cancelled due to adverse weather conditions
According to MSL website - only games that went ahead today were
Coll Cors vs Leeds (1st division) & Douglas vs Tramore (QF Keane Cup).
Anybody at these games, any updates or scorelines from the games?.
Douglas Hall 3 (Mark Murphy 2, Deccie O'Connell) Tramore Ath. 0
BALLHOP: Having played Tramore today and beat them and having played & beaten Cobh Wanderers in Intermediate Cup recently,
- just interested in your thoughts on both teams with regards
to challenging for the MSL 1st Division League and possible promotion to Premier Division next Season
(of course I not ruling out either Coll Cors, Castleview, etc - just interested on your thoughts about both of the above teams)
On the face of it, yesterday's was a much easier win for us. Cobh made us fight all the way through extra time, but we were on top yesterday from the start. However, our keeper made a super save when the score was nil all. Cobh got early chances, scored them and had something to hold onto. Tramore never had that opportunity - the 'Hall were in control, particularly after the opening goal.
I had the feeling that yesterday's match might not have been Tramore's top priority, but thy battled away until the end, never really threatening to get a result. Cobh really made us sweat in the Intermediate Cup - pushing us all the way. That would seem to set up a tasty league in the first division, both of them will be well competitive to the end.
All games fixed for tomorrow night 08/01/2010 have been called off. They will make a decision early friday about the rest of the weekend fixtures according to the website. Since we cant really talk about games has there being any transfers recently? Any palyers leaving to go abroad? Is Karl Caulfield still playing for Casement or has he gone to Oz?

In relation to this, Anybody know what happened to Garryduff when they fielded an illegal player?
Source MSL Website!
All weekend games cancelled.
Games are cancelled tonight. Games Looking doubtful for the weekend already
Can anybody confirm that Pat Downey has taken over at Garryduff, this would be their 4th Manager this season.
Ballinhassig have got the 3 points but dont know what sort of action has been taken against Garryduff, they should be suspended for the rest of the season. I know Pat Downey has left Knockavilla so he could well be after taken Garryduff over. James Cummins back with Ringmahon after a short spell as player manager with Garryduff.
I hear Darren O Riordan has left Marys for Rockmount. Bad form i think after they stood by him for the whole duration of his football ban which i think was 4 years and i think Marys battled hard to get that reduced to 3. Comes back to the point loyalty serves for nothing anymore.
I also hear James O Leary, Lawrence Fitzpatrick and Alan O Conner have signed for Marys. 3 good players especially O Conner.
I see Barry Triggs has signed for Rockmount.
Douglas Hall 1 (Gerard O'Donovan) Blarney Utd. 0
Played on the Douglas Hall all-weather pitch. A decent game, tightly contested. 'Hall went in front when Strachan intercepted a back pass, rounded the 'keeper and rolled the ball home. In the first half, Pat Keane hit the bar with a header from a corner and Steve Ber in the 'Hall goals made a fine save from another header in the second half.
Douglas Hall deserved the win, always looking more dangerous in attack.
It was in the echo wednesday that he'd moved on.
Everton 2 avondale 3
Ya. Everton gotta perfect goal from a corner, abt 10 minutes to go. Even a few of the Avondale players after the game said there was no way it should have been disallowed. Aidan O' Regan got it wrong. Avondale played quite well in the second but Everton might have done enough for a draw although the second half performance wasn't good as their 1st. A game of 2 half's!!!
Aidan O'Regan robbed Everton alright as he also denied them a penalty and then booked the player for diving. He is so unfit I don't know how he is getting these big games. He is down to do Rockmount V Avondale next weekend. That should be fun with him in charge, if he can keep up with play.
I agree with you about the the timber he is carrying. He was always a bit overweight but he must of eaten a few turkeys during the christmas period by the look of him now. I think he got the both penalty descisions right. First one was a peno all day long. Second one the avondale keeper went for the ball and pulled his hands away making no contact then the player half heartedly went down so i think that was correct. I dont know why evertons third goal was disallowed. I thought it was a clear cut goal. Everton players didnt really react when it was disallowed so i thought I just missed something. Anybody know wy he didnt let the goal stand?
Beacause Mr O Regan hadn't the guts to give the correct decision as he might upset 1 or 2 of his buddies in Avandale
There was one stage that an Avondale Player was clear through and the ref called for offside even though the linesman didnt flag. Made an utter mess of it. That would surely of cancelled out the goal he disallowed for Everton. So it evened itself out. Everton didnt complain about the goal being dislalowed so obviosuly there was some infringement whcih i could not see form my angle. However, it looked like a goal from the angel i saw it from.
Obviously my view is going to be considered bissed, but Avondale created the better chances and i feel deserved the win.
Rockmount 1-0 Ringmahon, tonight. Rockmount didn't play well but ground a result and scored the winner with 5 minutes left. Ringmahon down to 10 players for the last 25 minutes and had the better chances to score over 90 minutes. They deserved a draw.
Rockmount 1 - Ringmahon 0
Anybody at the game?
The big one tomorrow is in doubt, no surprise given the amount of rain that has fallen this week (and is still falling)
