Was very impressed with mcclean in the brandywell on tuesday night. Alan Keane is a good solid right full but he tormented him in the first half. Would be a great signing for a championship club in my opinion. The young lad Lafferty looks like a decent player too.

I'm not jumping on the 'Limerick are paying too much' bandwagon. I admire the ambition of the club to be honest, but just the sheer fact, it has to go wrong somewhere. There needs to be a steadier income for the club. O'Sullivan may have a lot of money, he may be a Limerick man, he may invest smartly in some areas of the club, but the fact of the matter is, his money is not infinite. Anything goes slightly belly up for him then the club are absolutely screwed. Face it, on crowds of 400 or 500 you're never really going to make much money. All the crap of 'other income from other avenues' is rubbish. At the end of the day most income for LOI clubs comes from matchday.Quote:

When Pat O'Sullivan came into the club we had seven or eight players signed, loads of debt and a laptop with a cracked screen. That was it, that was Limerick FC, a two bit shambles of a first division club.
Now we have club offices, a new stadium, a youth academy, a club lotto and zero debt.
If Pat stays on for a few years, in those few years we will become one of the top half dozen clubs in the country.
If the worst comes to the worst and he takes off to Sandals resort at Christmas for a well earned retirement, we go back to being a two bit first division club but with a new stadium, a youth academy, club offices, a club lotto and zero debt.
We cannot lose. It's just the extent of the win that's the question. I just don't get how people can't get that.

First off I'd question this.
Second off, any club which is depending on it's matchday income for most of it's revenue is every bit as unsustainable in the medium to long term as a club with an oligarch owner. Do the simple sums, it doesn't come close to adding up. This is the challenge all LoI clubs face.
